A Message for Pastors & Clergy: Supporting Betrayed Spouses Well with Nick Stumbo
On this episode of BRT, we have a special guest, Pastor Nick Stumbo. Nick is the Executive Director of Pure Desire Ministries and has an extensive background in pastoral ministry. He began his ministry career at East Hills Alliance Church in Kelso, Washington, where he served as lead pastor for over a decade. Confronted with his own pornography addiction, Nick and his wife, Michelle, found hope and healing through Pure Desire’s counseling and group ministries. His public disclosure led to a revival of forgiveness and healing within his church, and he continues to lead the way in helping churches become places of healing.
Episode Description: In this episode, Kris, Jenn, and Nick share a powerful message for pastors and clergy on effectively supporting women going through betrayal trauma. Using the analogy of how a paramedic would treat a severe wound, they provide six key steps for clergy and support personnel to follow:
Key Highlights:
Assess the Severity of the Wound - Listen to Her: Nick emphasizes the importance of actively listening to the betrayed spouse, believing her reality, and displaying genuine sympathy. Show kindness and care to provide solace during her crisis.Stop the Bleeding - Focus on the immediate need, not the marriage. Avoid cause-and-effect thinking and allow her to express her emotions and needs at her own pace. Asking "permission questions" will help the clergy better understand her urgent concerns and priorities.Bandage the Wound & Stabilize the Patient - Educate Her About the Healing Process. Inform her there is a healing process, and she will not be alone. Don’t Rush Forgiveness: Understand forgiveness and avoid minimizing the situation. Guide Her in the Present: Help her focus on the "now" and provide comfort and hope. Teach the Keys to Rebuilding Trust: Discuss sincerity, ability, and durability as crucial elements of rebuilding trust.Treat for Shock - Normalize the Experience: Minimize isolation, emotional flooding, and embarrassment by providing community and helping her deal with emotions. Provide Community: Connect her with others who understand her situation and can offer support.Support the Injury - Offer Support: Provide resources, encourage her to grieve, help her establish a circle of trust, and teach the importance of healthy boundaries. If the Wound is Too Severe, Call 911 - Ask for Help: Refer her to trained professionals like CSATs, PSAPs, CCPSs, and C-SASIs for specialized support. "When in doubt, refer out!"Connect with Us:

Very intriguing and validating esp as a Palestinian and watching present day evil take place whilst the world is under a dark spell allowing blood to spill needlessly and using inverted scriptures by mongrels whose history is of paganism and the ways of Babylon They are the amalakites and czarian bloodlines under the pretense as the “chosen” people

And since then I have renewed my mind and go to deliverance once a year at least even once a month at times !! It’s good to go deeper ! It’s like an onion God has revealed more to me over the past 10years !! It’s a journey for the rest of my life !!! But there was definitely one big delivery !!! This is not actually Gospel teaching. I’m sorry. Jesus said to love your enemies, the New Testament says mercy triumphs over judgement. Mercy is the new judgment, not killing off all that is deemed evil. All things were created through Him and sustained by Him. He came to redeem all. Please don’t use the Old Testament to define Jesus, use Jesus to define the Old Testament. He has already broken every curse….agree with and walk forward…strongholds are only propped up by our own delusional thinking, we are in His restoration process. I would hope that if you thought you heard the voice of God telling you to kill anyone, man, woman or especially child…you’re Jesus (who is just like the Father) given discernment would kick in and you would choose mercy.

This being said….He has dealt with iniquity at the cross, and yes I believe a Nephelim spirit or bloodline still manifests corruption on humanity, but He is truly restoring all things in real time, after He spiritually restored all things at before the foundation of the world. We are the sons and daughters meant to be these ministers of reconciliation. The murder and killing of the OT was never God, it was man’s best guess at God. Jesus is God, and God the Father is like Jesus.

My perspective is different. I experienced the same during our early years of marriage. I prayed fervently, poured my heart out to the Lord and drew closer to Him. He gave me a grace that I had never experienced previously. The words did not make me cry. I could ever smile. My husband didn't get the response that he was used to and even let up for a while. He got saved after 2 difficult years and our marriage lasted for 47 years until my Sweetheart and Best Friend went home to be with Jesus. As God told Paul, "My grace is sufficient." Blessings ❤️

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. KJV Remember who you are in Christ: Psalm 139:13-16 New King James Version 13 For You formed my inward parts; You [a]covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for [b]I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My [c]frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. @maryedinger3721 DO NOT SPEAK "I am alone!" If you know the Lord, if you have the Holy Spirit, if you are saved - YOU ARE NOT ALONE, but you with your own words negate the very presence of Jesus Christ. You MUST NOT be double-minded! Out of your mouth, you have what you want, what you desire. Give the Holy Spirit His due respect and His rightful place. He walks before you... Instead of speaking a negative presence into your life , you must welcome the Holy Spirit daily! Reject openly verbally the presence of ALL demonic presence. Ask God's forgiveness for your lack of faith because you can not intercede when there is a lack in your spirit. Anoint yourself, your tongue, your home, and then go forth with a renewed walk. But NEVER say you are alone. The truth is that you are not. Jesus is always with you. Give Him your full attention.
