Here's a fun tidbit; $876,600 @ 30 min per quarter only makes the dryer run for 50 years. Makes me wonder if the original script had Laverne going 50 years into the future, but they changed it to be 200 to match how far Hoagie went back. Although if we're getting into it, if Hoagie went back to 1796 they wouldn't still be drafting the Constitution; he'd have to be going back 209 years. Perhaps, like MST3K, the real answer is "don't worry about it."

Love this game! I've been watching your playthrough and I'm amazed at how much of the puzzles and lines I remember 20+ years later. I wish I could remember more practical, useful information instead....Oh well. Center of the forehead, every time...

Bought The Dig back just after release and it's still one of the only LucasArts games I've actually completed. After moving late in the 2010's or very early in the 2020's I threw away all my game disks due to not having the storage space for them anymore, so rebought it about a year ago on GOG...

I don't know how far ahead you are, or whether anyone else has already told you this, but just for info: When choosing the dialogue options on the right of the dialogue wheel, the top one is usually a more diplomatic reply, while the bottom one is typically more aggressive. (It's a good idea to avoid the middle, more neutral one, except when you really hate both of the others!) Reason: This is an important game mechanic. The top (diplomatic) reply will often increase your Paragon score, and the bottom (more aggressive) one your Renegade score. These scores will allow you to put more points into Charm or Intimidate, respectively. Having enough points in Charm or Intimidate will sometimes give you the blue or red dialogue options, which will become increasingly useful later in the game. (I'd recommend always choosing them, if/when the game gives you the chance!)
