great video. thanks for the info. One thing I found out was that the deepwell 18mm socket I bought isn't deep enough to get over the plastic electrical connection at the top.
Bro hasn’t changed the oil since it left the lot 😢
Really that easy??
Dam bro that engine is dirtier than Mia khalifa's face under UV light.
It's a electric motor not a pump .
I'm building a 5.3 that looks exactly like that! A combination of cheap oil, lack of oil changes, and long periods of idling will do that. You should pull the valve cover on the PCV side and see how much sludge you have. Oh, and I guarantee that your oil pickup time is full of sludge as well.
@@garyburrus9379 yeah I ended up changing pcv valve and oil pump and cleaned as I went.
Is that engine even worth saving?
I cleaned up the front and changed timing chain and oil pump. Somehow it’s still riding around. The guy stopped by my shop the other day.
Yep, it's sludge, but it can be cleaned up.
You can do flush treatments.
Your stand has her legs spread
That she does
At work, I use a Volkswagen engine, cherry picker, and it fits perfectly around the lift tables and engine stands
Nice might need to look into it.
You need a V base and a T base. You have two V bases.
So very true. There's a fix for it. Buy a Toyota 😊
I don’t do many Toyota engines. So there may be some truth to that lol.
Just use a engine stand that is shaped like a t
Bingo
That would work. I will probably get one, but this 2K stand comes in handy till then. Just is a pain sometimes.
Theres a reason the legs fold..
Man, I had the same problem with the same engine. Lol
lol the struggle is real
I had this happen once on a 97 1500 Cheyenne, the key would only unlock the steering wheel...I didn't want to tear everything apart so I just hot wired it with a push button swich and drove it another 6 years like that 😂😂
That is one way to solve the problem! 😂
How about in the 2008 ford escape?
I will look that up and get back with you
The engine coolant temp sensor for the escape 3.0L is right under the throttle body above the water hoses. It should run the gauge.
@@adamsautorepairLLC is it the only sensor that triggers the radiator fan?
How bout a 2012 ford escape 2.5 inline4
The cost goes back to the customer, I worked for a shop that offered used engine installs. When ever the mechanic installed a used engine and it failed the shop owner wanted the mechanic to redo the engine job for free! When I installed a used engine for him he told me the next one is on me, I told him I would not do the work for free and told him it's the customers responsibility. Needless to say he now has a sign in his shop informing customers they are responsible for labor when using used parts!
It’s hard to get certain customers to see it like this.
@adamsautorepairLLC I know what your saying, but if the mechanic is turning wrenches he needs to be making money. It's not hos fault the engine is defective and there is no way to know till its installed. Protect your techs.
@@JoeyNeal-j9i totally agree
What’s the one on the water outlet for?
The one in the video is the cylinder head temp sensor. The other is the coolant temp sensor/switch for the computer.
How does this even happen
Years of poor engine maintenance. Not changing the oil properly.
Using flex seal instead of oil
@@daviddaniels6818 lol bout right
Lack of frequency on oil chandes
I'm having problems with my 2012 Ford Fusion 2.5 SE codes came up as P1199 overhead cylnder overheat. I was wondering was this the sensor causing it.
@@quincyneto7468 it’s possible - this vehicle had a check engine light on and a code for the sensor. You want to make sure your vehicle isn’t actually overheating!
Ford didn't put the lift kit on it
Why can't you cut and replace them?
If it was easy...everyone would do it. Be glad you have a job. They're not always easy
@@roberttuttle9886 that’s the truth
I really miss the shit jobs now I'm stuck in the house with cancer and can't work
Remember it’s all on the factory line, they don’t give 2 shits how it’s assembled which this way is probably how they were told to do it
You know those engineers don't give a shit
They not going to listen
Yuu's sounds 's like yew am's unsmartly
@@stevewenners Ok.
🤔 everyone keeps saying this, yet I’ve always been able to slip them through the coil with a little pry bar… 🤷♂️
@@JoshH-q4p not with the lift on this vehicle.
@@adamsautorepairLLC lifts are easily removed 🤷♂️ glorified puck, also a good way to make a weak front end extra crappy. Stupid design. No doubt, but man have I seen a lot of hate on this particular job; and I mean, there are waaaay worse.
How did you design your car? Let’s hear it
@@turtleproblemsOfficial a lot more user friendly lol.
They do that so they cant back themselves out
@@RCgenral I totally understand why they install the bolts this way. I Was just frustrated that a simple job took a lot of extra time.
@@adamsautorepairLLC welcome to being a mechanic lol
Fords are dog shit all around.
All u gotta do is undo end link and top 3 nuts on strut and pull strut dow and the top out half way just enough to get behind it. I do these in 30 mins per side brother. It’s all I do all day every day is front end work. You may need to move a few more things but for most part u don’t even gotta remove brakes.
Exactly. Same setup on a Chevy Tahoe 2012 that I did. Just drop the strut a little to work the bolts out.
I do them all the time, and normally without the lift that it had I can use a bar and move the strut to access the bolt but on this 2017 the lift got in the way and the strut had to be totally removed.
Hello sir, may I ask where you are located, watching your videos,I would like to speak with you if it's not too much trouble, thank you
Wow
I think you are missing an "e" in power probE.
That I am. Thank you I’ll edit.
What tester are you using
"power prob-" according to the video title.
Power Probe
Ended up being bad coil on #8 with a broken plug and #1 coil was not plugged in good. Problem fixed.
trying to change mine same car. please walk me thru the proccess
Hey I have a written procedure I can post that walks you through the process.
Can I please have this walk through process also. I don’t feel like pulling the whole front an apart.
Could o get this same process from you. My radiator needs to be replaced
@@adamsautorepairLLC Please send walk through process, Thank You🚐😉 Jesus Christ Love's Us All Hallelujah Amen❣️🙌
How do u remove them bro?
You have to knock them out via a big hammer or press them out using a ball joint press.
Thank you
Your welcome
You said 15 and 20 ohms. I've watched 20 videos some 5to6, 30to40, 5000to7000 where are you guys getting your radio signals????
I checked all coils and they were all close in readings except one. The one was the bad coil. So I went with the others as a good reading.
What do I need to buy to fix it part number?
So what is actually causing this & how to fix??? Now what if you have a Coil RAIL on a 4.0 inline 6 engine with the EXACT same problem? This damn code will be the death of me! 😞
A bad coil was the culprit. Pull the spark plug for cylinder #1 the code is for cylinder #1. If the plug is covered in fuel it is not firing properly.
@@adamsautorepairLLC Brand new OEM spark plugs gapped to spec. 👌🏼 On my 3rd Brand new Rail Coil. Open entire wire harness. Haven't seen a short to ground or an open. Been searching for days. All my wires look new & pristine. To the last of my knowledge the resistance in the rail is in range & the wires on harness connecting rail and to PCM. All fuses & Relays check out. I even have a test light, an Amp Hound, OEM Circuit tester & a Multimeter. 🤷🏼♂️ There's always something wrong after another after another.. 😞
@@maniacalmonster2293 you need a scope and and an amp clamp to connect to cylinder 2 to get a known good reading you are going to look for a spike in power on this and if you find a spike in power on 1 then you need a computer the noid lights are good to see if signal is good but does not check for high voltage spikes that keeps killing the coil due to the computer 1 driver is not sending correctly but it is sending
