Interesting that Mr. Bragg adopted the Rosanne Cash arrangement of this, one of my favourite Laura Nyro songs. Rosanne Cash's version can be heard on 'Time and Love: The Music of Laura Nyro', a various artists tribute disc released in 1997, the year we lost Ms. Nyro to ovarian cancer.
I've been waiting the last few years for someone to realize and revive this song. I would love it if Patti Smith or someone like Diamanda Galas covered it. Hint, hint ladies.
