This has helped me loads!!! I can finally add a few more to walk and cowboys from hell!!!!
That’s awesome, glad it helped. Let me know if you would like any lessons or advice. Lee
Hi Mr C
Tutorial pls
Jake tunes his Charvel Strat like this. His low E and A strings are tuned up one half tone each to low F and A# (Bb) respectively and the remaining strings (D, G, B & high E) are all tuned down one half tone to C#, F#, Bb and high D# respectively, incase anyone sees footage of Jake (or anyone else) utilizing that tuning or sees tablature written to reflect that tuning, that will be why you are seeing different fingerings. Whichever works best for you personally, that's the "correct way to play it", If you play gigs in a band and you don't have a 3rd or 4th guitar to have tuned to F, A#, C#, F#, Bb & D# exclusively for just one song then the Eb tuning is probably going to be more user friendly. Always remember when looking for the correct way to play most songs, the "correct way" is always relative to what works best for you.
Hi there, thanks for your message and thanks for watching. Really interesting info, thanks for this - I will give it a go using this tuning. Jake is such a brilliant and inspiring player, one of my favourites. Thanks again, Lee UK
Just checking out your video and thank you for posting. Just started to learn this song this week and lie and behold the lead singer has passed away just a couple days ago….😢
Thanks so much, hope it helps. Didn’t know about the singer, very sad.
Hey! Do you have any advice for the 12 and 10 parts? I really struggle strumming the strings as they sound muted or just wrong. Aswell as the finger placements is hard
Hi ya, it’s a mini bar across two strings - or double stops. To practice double stops try playing a riff on the D & G using first and third fingers, try smoke on the water and move it around the neck. Try jumping between this idea and power chords. Let me know if you would like a request. Thanks for watching, Lee
Awesome, sounding great!!! Loving the solos! 🎸😎
Great job ! Thx .
Thank you for watching! Cheers
Great lesson. Terrible shirt
Thanks! Not everyone’s taste! Glad you enjoyed the lesson, thanks for watching. Lee
I've been looking for tabs or a tutorial for the lead guitar though I've only been able to find the rhythm guitar. Idk what's up with that I haven't been able to find the solo part either/ the guitar that plays over the rhythm guitar
I’ll have a go at the solo for a video!
Been watching Jake play it with Red Dragon Cartel and he plays the open D power chord the second time through.
please give a few more seconds when showing the tuning, u misspoke about the g to a and talked over it....just frustrating cuz it would just take 1-2 seconds to let us hear the string ring out
So sorry. So tune your 6th string down to a D, string 5 will stay as an A, string 4 will stay as a D, string 3 will go up to an A, string 2 will go up to D but be careful as this might snap - do it slowly! String 1 will go down to a D. You have a great tuning, a 12 string sound!!! Let me know how it goes, Lee
A or E string harmonics are still the hardest thing ever for me, exactly in style of Zakk Wylde like you say exactly
Thanks very much, thanks for watching, Lee
Simple, and done well. I've been playing ZTH off & on for a while, but was confused on that pattern. Thank you
This is great
High distortion helps. The more the better
Cool song! Thanks!
Very short. But better than most I have seen before. 👍
Thanks, what a tune?!
Great lesson, you nailed that ! What a riff !!! 🎸⚡️
Thank you, classic one that I think people have forgotten! Great riff!
For unknown reasons I've had this song in my head all week and have been thinking how I want to figure this out. Found an intro tab online and just looking at it knew it wasn't right. Thanks so much for putting this video together, sounds brilliant and can't wait to give it a go 😊
Thank you! Lovely little riff, have fun!
You're the first person I've seen play it correctly, good job!
Thank you! Great album!
Ah. Power chord instead of open chord version. Nice one, I struggle with quick transition G to C with open chords so this one is well cool for me, Thanks
If my stretch practice wasn't message in a bottle , it was this as a teenager the girlies loved smithy showing off his softer side hahah
Nice pickin
Amp?
Really going to enjoy practicing this ! thanks
So hard to follow that. How about showing the tab?
The Killswitch and Shadows Fall guys are doing something with the pinches that I don't really see a lot of other bands doing, or at least not on the same level. I know they are all big proponents of the OD808 pedal. I'd like to know one day what it is they are doing.
So does that mean that Zakk’s pinch harmonics are throatier?
Fun fact, Slash played guitar on "I'm Just Ken"
Yeah, great solo! Good fact!
I just ken’t
Cool Black Sabbath tone!👍Bob
😊Nice!
Great video, thank you. 🙏
Great video.... but.... ITS A PICK.... 😂.. Or pic.... one of those 😂😂😂
It’s called a plectrum. A pick is a type of plectrum. Use ur brain
@@LeGeeked. Brill comeback bro!!! There certainly are some thick fuckers about!!! Probably can't engage the pea brain enough to process simple item descriptives!!!
Those harmonics are beautiful how do you master them? Or get better with them I’m trying to learn them myself as a 4 month player but I don’t know how to persistently pull them off
Hi ya, thanks for watching. It takes a little practice, check out my earlier video on Zakk Wylde pinch harmonic’s. You need to angle the pic and catch string with skin of thumb too, angled and attack the string at slight angle. Cheers
@@leechamberlaingoesto11guit78it’s nice coming back 9 months ago! To tell you I finally learn them! And doing them constantly thank you so much!
When I heard that song in 1993 on the radio I had to pull my car over because I was in shock of how awesome that song was
Brilliant album too! Vai with a vocalist is pretty special! Thanks for watching
Right on brother!!
Like what are you doing with index finger in that portion? Anything at all?
It’s a full bend, think I’m using my index to cover so to mute the string noise, never noticed before!!
1:16 to 1:18
Hey man, sounds good. BUT, can you explain what you done at 1:16 please. How many strings, and what frets are you bending up and down, thanku
That was well done I think I finally got it good job
Thanks Max, what a tune?!
Very cool..! 🤓
What pedals/effects were you using to get your sound?
Just my guitar a hughes n kettner amp on the lead sound. Thanks for watching!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Tunning?
I’m in standard tuning - so much easier to play it this way. I’m sure Jake does it this way too. Thanks for watching, Lee
👍 cool 😎😎
Can you do rock n roll rebel from bark at the moon album if possible please. I like jake e lee's unusual style of playing. Cheers Lee. Liked & subscribed. Top man 👍🏻
Great shout out, I will record that for you!! Thanks
great lesson man. 👍🏻🎸
Thanks so much, will do, great shout out! Lee
Thanks for doing this! Classic underrated Iommi riff.
