These videos are edited to be as boring as possible.

Vernon CYVK on a busy Saturday. Lots of smoke, lots of sun, lots of thermal turbulence. Lots of fun!
Salmon Arm Landing

Wind all over the place on approach to Salmon Arm CZAM. Tailwind on short final, but an uphill runway and needing to roll out to the end...and if it doesn't work go around and try it the other way. One of those sorts of approaches.

A decent landing, even if I got stranded with a dead starter. Runway 09, Victoria CYYJ
Kamloops crosswind landing

Crosswind landing Runway 27 at Kamloops CYKA. Just enough crosswind that I had to do something about it.

Test flight with a prop filter

Seeing how well a prop filter works. It rattled so the cockpit audio picked up by the camera is lousy. The approach shows a challenge of flying at Kamloops Airport, the enormous diversity of planes that use the airport.

A little video testing a new audio recorder, getting ambient cockpit audio in to the video. O-320 with a Power Flow exhaust. Sounds nice. :-)

Thanks for the ride along!!
Beautiful scenery, thanks for the ride along. While I truly love the eastern shore of Maryland, a change of surroundings would be nice at times.
Just beautiful...I love the flying I'm doing right now in the King Air, but I sure do miss flying around Kamloops!
Glad you're doing well!
Nice to see videos of others coming into my home airport. With Fire Fighting Helicopters/RAP Base and a very active Skydiving operation, CZAM can sure be an active area. Thanks for sharing!
Got blown a bit, pretty fun! You get to see some cool mountains there, just flat here in Florida :)
Thanks. The helicopters may have had something to do with it…
Nice job Laura! Looks like a little gust from the right hit right at the flare....

Nice work! Make and model of your aircraft, please?
Beech 23 Musketeer
@@marsgal42 would you be kind enough to take me around for a flight? Happy to share the costs. I am somewhat new to the lower mainland area. Have a CPL from SW Ontario, and just begun training at CYXX for my multi- rating.
Great scenery around there 😮
Is your other plane a 747? :)))
Runway 09/27 at Kamloops CYKA is 8000 feet long. It handles everything from ultralights to 737s and A320s. In an emergency just about anything could land here, but the heaviest of the heavies would need to be light to take off. Since the runway is so long you pick your touchdown point to minimize taxi time.
@@marsgal42 Beautiful scenery out there, i've been through on a road trip last year, unfortunately only on land.
You know, if you landed in the opposite direction with the headwind and plopped it down on the numbers, you wouldn't have had to roll down the runway, you'd be right there already :)))
I needed to stay out of the way of skydivers.
@@marsgal42 Good point, no one wants to wash off the guts from the prop.
@@Michael-iw3ek Just think of the paperwork. 🤦🏻♀
ZAMon arm
Nice stable approach.
That was about as exciting as watching paint dry
Maybe I am wrong, but when you turn on final it seems you are still far from the runway, adopting a slight slope to get there. I do not know which airplane you are flying but with my ultralight I would prefer to stay higher as long as possible and land with a steeper slope. You know, when you have height you can manage it, but when you do not have it... you do not have it 😊 sorry for my English 😊
GoPros make all approaches look low.
Don't know much about landing an airplane?
@@kenprice1961 don't know much about minding your business?
Don't think I'd like to land there.
Salmon Arm is actually a really nice airport. Even on days when it’s bumpy.
Most rookies wouldn't.
I agree with the guy that says about us as exciting as watching paint dry only I think it's about as exciting as watching a building rust
Fantastic views, I wish I was there :)
lovely area.. is this near NewYork USA?
No, the west coast of Canada around Vancouver.
Always enjoy flying videos and your location surely provides beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing the flight!
Amazing video! My wife and I have friends up in Powell River, this is a must-do flight for us!! Thx for sharing, I’m definitely inspired 👍
Hêlô thanks nhé 💯♥️♥️🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Nice flight. Good view of the Kamloops area. Had a chance to driver through a few years ago.

6:32 just incredible. I need to fly this big huge Aero Commander 680 up there and shoot the valley. But from Georgia it would probably burn more fuel than Trump's 757. Bless his heart, he's being downgraded from Air Force 1 back to a private citizen.
Noise abatement?
Yes, the extended centreline of 19 goes right over a subdivision. So we flew along a corridor of farmland between the subdivisions.
Love the rolling shutter effect.
GoPro Hero 4 plus old plane will do that. :-)
Okay🛩
Laura, What a nice change of scenery from our flatland mid-Atlantic area. ;)
I always fly with the prop filter on the Garmin VIRB. I think it makes a big difference in the video quality, however, I do think it shoots a bit darker then without.
What plane is that?
Beech Musketeer.
@@marsgal42 Thanks
Excellent!
I’ve just recently started filming my flights with a GoPro hero eight black. Is the prop filter worthwhile? And what conditions is best suited for?
I view it as a matter of taste. Others view it as a matter of life and death. This is the internet, after all. YMMV. :-) It's not an "artistic" filter. It just makes the prop less obvious in the video. Not sure if that really answers your question. Sorry...
I love that valley from high up.
Cool video
Great footage and beautiful takeoff 👍
Really awesome. All you need is another cam pointing inwards and you're good to go and make awesome videos! Why so long without one?
Other priorities will do that (sigh...), though I hope to make some new videos this summer. I prefer not to appear on camera.
@@marsgal42 well, I'm subscribing and I look forward! The audio was really on point on your latest video. With some editing to condense the video to highlights, I think you're on your way to creating a very entertaining channel! Cheers!!
@@marsgal42 PS: If you'd like to maybe share your setup, that'd be cool as well. I wouldn't mind having a similar setup myself :)
Awesome. I'm always amazed at how crystal clear comms from other people sound like, compared to mine. I must be doing something wrong. Need to look up on that. I'm assuming you use a direct cable from the audio jack to your gopro?
Exactly. I now use an audio cable to a little Sony digital recorder, let the GoPro record the ambient cockpit audio and put the two together in post.
@@marsgal42 funny, that's exactly how I've been doing it now 😊 Cheers!
nice snowy landscape, i have too same videos Happy New Year! I have a channel for the maintenance and repair of Fiat and other cars. I subscribe to your channel.
Subcribe to my channel,good takeoff
Great video my friend! Loved the camera angle :) Liked and subscribed!
Nice flight Laura. I am over in Courtenay (CAH3) and would like to fly over to Langley to see a friend. Can you give me a few pointers on elevations to fly and Towers that I will need to talk to.. I am a newly minted PPL.. Thanks for you help.. Gord.
Vancouver Terminal tend to be cranky but Vancouver Harbour are friendly (and have a better view). Consider bringing an instructor along. I did the first time I flew to Victoria and it was money well-spent. I'm not an instructor and cannot assume responsibility for operational decisions.
I like how your aiming point after takeoff is a snow-covered mountain peak. I love the scenery up there. What is the elevation of the airport where you took off? And Airport elevation at Chilliwack where you landed?
We have lots of mountains around here, and in January they have snow on them. :-) Both airports are about 35 feet ASL, i.e. pretty much at sea level.
Thanks for sharing your takeoff video. I always enjoy flying with other Pilots. Are these the standard CTAF Radio Calls for Canada? These are different then we are trained to use in the United States.
What aspect do you find unusual? Entering the runway, taking off, airborne, report clear of the area (the last not in the video).
Great flight and nice landings! I thought there would be a little more snow on the ground. Being around snow and wing icing are great things to be familiar with. I fly out of John Wayne in SoCal.
You're a natural
kind of can be and better shoot
Amazing video, feels like you're sitting in the cockpit, you should do more
Thanks for your post. It is nice to see the topography prior to making a flight over to the main land . CYBL
Beautiful country. Excellent pilotage. Got to love the landing gear on the Musketeer. : ) However, I astutely managed to porpoise one at night on my first time in that airplane. Thank goodness no damage . . .
Thanks. I've porpoised mine too. Didn't break anything, just some damage to my ego. Most landings feel like a light bounce, I'm not sure if it's for real, or just taking up slack in the landing gear.
