I remember seeing The Breakestra and Ugly Duckling play at The Thekla in Bristol UK about 20 yrs ago. One of the best live shows I've ever seen. Both acts absolutely killed it. Peace to the Baker and Mr Hackney. WORD.
Fosho, my man Myles still doin a weekly @fukysole or something in LA. Good times . Went to Japan fujirock w the band soon after this. Best job of my life! Lol can’t believe how long comments keep going on this video!! I should upload the Fuji footage but it’s on minidv cassette!!
9:23 name of the song?
O’Donel Levy - “I Wanna Be Where U Are” sampled by Pete Rock & CL smooth “good life”
@@martbee805 literally been searching for years thanks a lot!
@@AportesKike (kinda) cool story, I also fell in love with that break after hearing it performed during a live Breakestra set. I managed to send Miles an email asking him where it was from, and to my surprise he replied shortly after with the info! After that, I decided that I also wanted to play the break with my bandmates, and we performed it a few months later at a club in town: ua-cam.com/video/E4b91q3ZxYM/v-deo.html
These are not albinos!! They are white people feeling it!! ❤
I keep asking the members for a ‘reunion’ but that involves several studio musicians volunteering their time and talents for weeks of rehearsals!? There’s like 25 meme ers over the years! Check out haloween show albino, if it still exists on yt. Gotta upload more ‘classic era’ shit that I’ve shot over the years!!
San Francisco is a shit hole. Just sayin'
Underrated band IMO. Loved them for a long time now.
Couldn't agree more!
Fosho!! This was fun and epic! Had my girlfriend record it off the radio! Lol.
And of course it was filmed at the Sweetwater in Mill Valley! Love it! Is Bam still a magazine? I haven’t seen it for 40 years because I was mostly centered in Santa Barbara after the summer of love
Before my time, thanks for your comment (a year later…!) Bam has an online presence, was fun working with them, real dedication.! Keepin the soul of music alive and memories like this slice Jesse had been hidden away in a house in the woods for 15 years and finally decided to tell his story!! Lucky to have caught this and speak to the man himself. Very human real heart on sleeve kinda guy… was an honor
This is awesome. Zappa is the best!
Thanks! Apologies for the ‘crappy sound’! Lol
Poor girl. If only someone loved her enough to save her
I know! I tried!! She was a spinning ball of chaos addictive energy when she turned it on.. miss her.
Simply Dope Truly Amazing 👌👍✌️
Thanks homie!
Thank you for this interview. JCY, thank you for everything.
Thanks for that. Was a labor of love fosho. Was really cool meeting him. He was hidden out in the woods for years before his daughter got him to do this with us!
I figure it comes via Johnny "Guitar" Watson
Went backstage after and hung w George a while while he based up like bootsy! Lol. Wow. That smell! Think he quit good for him! 🍄❤️🔥
Johnny G Watson? How so ?
He did & he looks much healthier now because of it. He finally figured out it would never be as good as the 1st times.
very bad sound
Up yours buddy!
Oh I've heard them do this live , just about blew my head off !
I saw you at Le Hibou in Ottawa. Phenomenal! Thanks for that!

Merci, bro!!
Jesse, your singing Valenti's song DID have a wonderful purity which refreshed the world and always will.
Thanks for all your wonderful comments! I was honored to meet and interview him. He was hiding out from society for 10+ years! Very REAL dude, so many stories,we were trying to get as much as he could remember out and on the "record"..Lol..Enjoy, I'll poke around for any more outtakes I may still have..
I had a radio show for 12 years at UCSB, by invitation on noncommercial radio and I would have loved to of had him on as a guest. I heard he’s playing this summer with the Steve Miller band in Lincoln, California. So many of us from the 60s generation are dropping like flies, it’s important that you document these memoirs like you are doing. I wish I could find my own tapes of interviews I did with Dan Hicks, Ravi Shankar,Maria Muldaur, Albert Hofmann, and the Timothy Leary press conference etc
I've been a musician for almost 60 years. Out of all the music I've ever listened to, "Get Together" is still my No. 1, most favorite song! It came out during a special time of my young life and always brings back the best memories of young love, passion, discovery and adventure.
there is not a song in history that touched me like COME TOGETHER. I am 66 years old and your song is by far my all time favorite since the very first time I heard it.
Your music stole my heart in the 70's--just like my first love.
Oh my gaaaaahhd, I've been hooked on watching this set from the top to the last drop for the past year, now. Guys.....please please please upload a set list. This shit is tormenting me!! If funk was drug, I'd be an addict.
Uploading a setlist well that would be cheatin'! Happy diggin'! (or shazamming, good luck!) It's basically same tunes/order as "The Live One" (?) as well...Enjoy brothas.. So sorry bout trumph fiasco, was my fault...
Wikipedia Live Mix Tape 2 dude
Look at Howard fucking controlling her. Murderer
Fuck you howard k stern
What's fucked up is most people in the audience don't know that was Zappa.
You could say that about most audiences lets face it. Would the audience at a zappa show recognise a funkadelic song if zappa had played it? Especially with no lyrics.
@@chekkatechno Probably. Funkadelic had a significantly larger audience than Zappa did, and Zappa fans tend to be *very* eclectic listeners. I do suspect a lot of the audience DID know that song though, it was one of Zappas more well known tunes. It wouldnt seem that way (About zappas size of audience) but Zappa had a very dedicated audience as opposed to a widespread audience. He himself was famous, but a hell of a lot of people knew him for "Oh the guy with the weird named kids" or "The dude who started the hippy movement" (He didnt, Zappa detested hippys) but didnt actually really know his music other than maybe hearing it once or twice and thinking "What the heck?!".
Man , I've been a Zappa fan since the early 70's and never knew how cool Funkadelic was until the early 90's. @@shayneoneill1506
Wonderful !! The Youngbloods will forever be one of my favorite groups. His song Ridgetop is both my wife and my favorite, it just speaks to us. I was fortunate enough to see him and the Youngbloods play several times back in the late 60's and early 70's such great times!
What a sweetheart as evidenced by their music. By 1970 they were willing to play for $400 and along with the non 45 minute song acoustic Grateful Dead for $1000 put on a Beautiful Day show at Sierra College, Ca.
Вот чего не хватает сейчас в большом мире брейкинга так это мать его такого качественного звука !!!!! Большой респект этому бэнду и низкий поклон !!!!
dont quit your day job bubb
That drummers a madman! Wicked!
This is amazing on so many levels. Badass song selections.
What a great guy
I can't believe he did this! I was always wondering if funkadelic and zappa had some sort of admiration for each other. This confirms it, amazing!
Christ, can you imagine if they did an album together? A fuckin' hole would tear in the fabric of the universe!
Frank tried to poach Funkadelic members at least twice. Eddie Haz including Biily Bass Nelson I believe
I recently got back to Parliament/Funkadelic and when you listen to the long guitar solos (by Eddie Hazel!! and others, Gary Shider, for instance) on their early albums you can't help but state some strong affinity between their music and Frank's. And Zappa on the other hand had quite a funky band in the mid 70s with George Duke, Chester Thompson, Napoleon Murphy Brock. And do you remember him saying: "Good God, ain't it funky now!" on the A Token of His Extreme TV show it was, I believe...
@@thomasminarchickjr.7355 what does that mean? Please tell me that's a good thing. Since Frank is so - I don't know - cynical - and i live/love everything P-FUNK the most, and growing to love Zappa more, I would love to hear what Frank would've said about Parliament Funkadelic - I'd like to think he'd have really admired them. After all this time I'm still discovering old and newer music by all them... Now back to it! PEACE
Brad Pauler it just mean that Frank tried to steal these players from P-Funk by trying to hire them away for his band. They didn’t though because Frank was notoriously cheap
Amazing crew, thanks for sharing \o/
i wish the vocals were louder..
I still been lookin'!!
