it doesnt make a lot sense aside from being able to play your digital games on it... but since since the other portable devices are so powerful. i don't see it working. people are still gonna buy the switch. mario will always bring players in. mario kart, smash bros.. the handheld pc's are already powerful. steam deck aint the only one. they have much more powerful ones.... they can play most of the games from the consoles.

Based on the psp and the psvita, if sony will ever decide to bring a real handheld again, it will land straight on my buy list. Dont think that handhelds will ever die even after all these years the community for the vita for example is still extremely active

You more like rent your digital games. Those games can be disabled or discontinued at any time. I would appreciate it if you would continue to support physical media. At least you have ownership of your media at that point (even if you don't literally own the IP) they can't take your game away unlike digital. As it relates to the topic however, even though I have the original PS5, I hate they actually raised the price of the base model and took the drive away. They broke the model of reducing the price of the standard model once the pro or slim comes out. They are using inflation as an excuse. They are price gouging this time. I hate them for it. I'm absolutely not buying a pro unless it is used or at the original release price eventually. WTF were they thinking I have no clue.
