How can you be in your 4th year, when the maximum stay for tourists is 36 months? I think it is totally legit for a country, that they want to know why someone is in their country. And to be honest, nobody staying that long could be called "tourist". It is a great privilege, that we foreigners can stay that long. Not many other countries allow that to "tourists". Having said this, just a few years back, one had to bring copies of passport, including copies of all pages with extension stamps/stickers (when they still had them) and a picture for each single 2-month application. Each other extension was a good chance, that one of the officers took you to the side to ask some questions. Nowadays it is completely painless. Regarding the memorandum, it does not affect tourists at all. It is more work for the BoI officers, and thats about it.

@@DiveMonsterI went outside so it resets and I was wrong in my comment to call it a tourist visa it is actually an Temporary Visitor (9A) which makes a big difference since temporary can be even 10 years in a legal context (funny thing is that Filipina pea etc and those vlogger immigration lawyers don't seem to understand that. But I agree it is an easy visa relative to other countries I am not complaining.

Just about to pack my travel bag to see Iron Maiden in Tokyo. That pea chick talks basically click-bait nonsense in all of her videos I came across, as do all that vloggers. I dont follow any, but they do pop up on my feed occasionally. Many of them actually have to survive from the little money they make on YT. Thankfully I am not in that position, and don´t need to make drama titles and put semi-naked chicks on my thumbnails. I started this channel, so my daughter learns to film and edit for our other channel.

That must be about the biggest pile of nonsense I read today. That dive was at Pescador Island, not any whale shark watching side. However, reading that "it will die" simply shows, that you have not the slightest clue about the aquatic world, and absolutely no clue about whale sharks. Maybe you self-educate yourself first before you create a rather pitiful picture of yourself with your gibberish. Real divers would get themselves correct information and also will know that you talk total BS 🙂

Yeah, but that is the local attitude. That smiles only last as long, as one opens the wallet, if one demands the actual service for the paid money, the real faces come out fast. That is not limited the restaurants...

We usually do that, we order the starters first, when they arrive, we order the mains, just to get the food in the right order. In that case, we were probably way too naive once again, as the lady was well spoken, and confirmed all, including to serve the appetizers first. If there was anything pleasant during our visit, I would say, the chairs were comfortable and the aircon working. With the rising food options in Dumaguete, basically everything else was sub-standard compared to similar priced places in the city.

Sounds about right. hehehehe. there is no food culture at all in the Philippines. But the ignorance of standards goes way beyond that. There is a reason, why basically 95% of the successful dive Shops and Resorts in the Visayas, have foreign managers, because a "Sorry, Seeeer" for constant f*ck-ups doesn´t do the trick...

yes, it is totally different, when you can adjust the lights. specially when you also take pictures and macro shots. We use them mainly with a TG6, and the GoPro in the hot-shoe of the Tg-Housing You can bring the lights more to the front and can ankle them much better to the object. or bend them in that you get the "face" in a spot and the background remains darker.

No Red filter. We never use red filter. It makes absolutely no sense to reduce even more light from an already small camera sensor. With good video lights, you need no filter to start with. A red filter, or complete color-adjustment, can be also added in post production.
