Переглядів 99 тис.8 років тому
This is my first production, feedback is appreciated. Congratulations to the team for 110% effort despite loosing a lot of time to mechanical problems. This is my last race with the school team, so best of luck for next year. Just some shots of me cornering at the pedal prix. Surprised I could pull this off with the steering and brakes basically destroyed.

Starmade Ship: Dark Angel

Sorry there's no voice. A tour of my new ship the Dark Angel, based on the ship from Galaxy on Fire. You can download it here: starmadedock.net/content/dark-angel-mk-ii-c.1425/ Starmade: star-made.org/ And the music: playstarbound.com/ I highly recommend Starmade, its free and lots of fun
It's hard to believe how that vehicle accelerated through the crash as if accelerated by another force.
Red flag! Red flag!
Hi there, I'm currently putting together a documentary on Pedal Prix, and was wondering if I could use a few seconds of this footage in my film. I am more than happy to credit you as well. Please let me know ASAP. Thank you.
Sure thing, I'd love to see when it's complete
@@bounding_star Awesome. I will absolutely send it to you when it is finished.
What's the geographic location?
Murray Bridge, South Australia
Muito bom esse ralli, aqui no Brasil ainda não tem , mas em breve chegaremos lá, parabéns.
Great video! It could be improved a lot with some voiceovers that explain the competition, where it's at, problems faced etc etc. Great job!!
Well done guys. Did the red and black proud.
some distances achived over the 24 hours would be nice.
Bit sad that breakaway doesn't get used anymore. (it just sits in a corner collecting dust and has been there for god knows how long at least 4 or 5 years)
You know it was built and named in 2010, painted yellow as a salute to the cancer council, because Robbo was being treated for cancer at the time. We figured it was a "Break Away" from our traditional bullet trikes and totally broke our colour scheme. The racing trikes normally got complementary paint jobs. Guess if BreakAway retired, XCalibur and Veyron aren't in use either, and really doesn't bode well for 2Fast4U or XLR8 even existing anymore, even as parts.
Its not LE MANS it is LEG MANS and way way way cooler
Wow! I thought they were going to start banger racing for a minute! Lol! Great video. I going to get one. Cars suck!
Epic velomobile race.
Бббб::ббббб:ббъб
Perfect weather for that type of vehicle.
That young bloke can really handle the velomobile in heavy traffic. Impressive!
Engine sound would be a real improvement.
Бывают ли подобные кантрийные гонки на веломобилях?
That looks like shit loads of fun 👍
Way better than NASCAR.
What is the average speed or distance traveled for this 24h ? In the website there is only number of laps but what kind of lap it is ?
The laps on this track are about 2km, with the top teams totalling 1300km or more and top school teams over 1000km. My team last year reached 830km which was a pretty good result
hello I am French and I note that this sport is not present in France (or has very low documentation) I am extremely interested by this type of race and I would like to know litle details: -How was this race organized -This type of race does exist in exterior of studies? -What is the average price to organize this event? do these tricycles? -Do you have systems other than those necessary for the operation of the bicycle or for safety in vehicles? sorry for english error thanks
Hello! -The race was originally organised by a local university, which is still a major sponsor although now there is a seperate organisation that coordinates the events -not sure what you mean, that might've got lost in translation -each team pays several hundred dollars to enter each race depending on the race duration. The best trikes cost around $10000 although when the race was first founded, every team built their own trike for much cheaper, and eventually competition caused the requirements to increase -the trikes are really quite simple, aside from the operation and safety systems, the only other requirements are a horn and lighting for the night races If you have any more questions, I'm happy to help!
Even human powered races have crashes that hard just like motorsports do
@@yao4738 I don't see a lot of "owwww, get it off quick!" in motorsports. Definitely exclusive to lycra shorts and cycling.
human powered F-Zero
Where can you buy these types of velomobiles with the full fairing?
There's a number of different manufacturers, some of the most common ones are Trisled, Trump Trikes, GTrikes, Tru Blu, Sutton Cycles (not sure if Sutton still sells them). Most of them have websites where there is more info
You might want to check out the velomobiles made in the Netherlands, like the Alpha 7, Quattrovelo, Quest or other European made velomobiles like the WAW, Milan, DF, Leiba, etc.
id take that to work if i could
there are actually some types of velomobiles designed for commuters, would make commuting a lot more fun
Great Video. Most enjoyable and some exciting footage!
Thanks!
I know I'm very late but oh well, I am one of the new team members that started this year.
I hope you go well! Xavier has some very capable trikes, especially combined with training on recumbents, so aim high! I'll be sure to visit the pits at the 24 hour
Thanks, only problem is I don't think I'll make it to Green Edge this year and stay in Veyron but I'll try my best! Think I'm gonna go anyway to support the team though!
@@gergleshmerf3544 Veyron is the trike that will make you fittest haha
Geredd Hayes you got that right
I'm sorry for laughing but it's the way the man sounded after the crash I do hope he's ok
from what i've heard he wasnt too badly off
@@bounding_star what's the name of the bike he is in and do you know the price
@@lawrencesmith8819 Thats a Trump Trikes either Elite or Sport, they range from about $7k to $10k new, I've just gotten to race an Elite and they are fun to say the least
What distance did you get?
For this race we did about 720km over the 24 hours although we spent a long time off of the track repairing mechanical problems
@@bounding_star thank you for the infornation. Regards from Mexico.
@@bounding_starin each vehicle how many riders took the 24hr race
@@bodegacruzazul Our team was 8 riders, everyone did 3 1 hour rides.
@@bounding_star thankyou for the answer.
Very nice velomobile.
賽道太擁擠,應該場地延伸,拉開距離
I'm trying to imagine what a race between the world's top professional road cycling teams would look like in these..... Team Sky v. Team Movistar etc.....With all the money they could throw at it no doubt there would be plenty of high tech around.
There's a number of professional cyclists who've raced in these races, some of them have done pretty well although honestly the margin between them and some of the high school teams is smaller than you would expect. I think the biggest thing that would happen if there was pro pedal prix races is that the trikes would become more popular and cheaper for consumers
Barking bad is a high school team who came 7th overall at this race last year. It would be interesting to see but most racers enjoy having a few primary school teams to over take.
As with any sport when the money hits it you would see the bottem and middle priced out, and the regulations that would be added would see to that, if only to maintain and justify the cost and sponsorship. What you have here is brilliant, hang onto it as it is for as long as you can.
Is this one rider for 24 hours or do riders change off? Looks like they change off, but I don't see how they accommodate different leg length. How many riders on a team?
in greenedge there really is no seat adjustment you just get a piece of foam to put you closer to the pedals and there is about 7 or 8 to a team
lostjr though some vehicles have moveable seats. Some of the quickest ones now have adjustable booms, meaning you can move where the pedals are in respect to the seat
Millsy MB very true
GreenEdge is an old trike but it’s comfy and it is like 10+ years old so over the holidays it’s getting a new chassis and major body repairs
Because after the race had finished the guy that was in it got t-boned on crash corner and we bent the chassis and put a crack down the middle of the back of the body and put holes in a few other places
What is up with the trikes on gravel? Was that a race?
that was training because we train on a dirt track
Dang it boy, you did a good job, this is almost as good as NASCAR. I think I could watch the full 24 hour long race if some one posted it :) I ride a two wheeled recumbent myself.
Thanks! You might be in luck, the races including the 24 hour are usually livestreamed :P
What trike r u riding
the trike i was riding was i think a custom built one but the one in front of me is a greenspeed not sure what model
Nunca veremos no Brasil um evento desse nível.
It has taken a long time for this event to become as big as it has, you never know what might be possible
Imagine if all cars were replaced by light vehicles like this! Fast, safe to cross the road, and I love that you can even collide between vehicles without crashing.
just need them to get mass produced so they can be as cheap as a bike
some of these bikes can be worth up to 10 grand
Would also the help with obesity and environmental issues.
I would love to, but in my town the elevation change is significantly high, riding this would be pain in the ass
Imagine an alternate reality where combustion engines never invented.
What's the average speed for the winners?
The top teams can average 50km/h or more for a whole race and average over 60km/h on a race lap, much faster in the sprint demonstrations
So much traffic! Nice piloting skills!
Good vid man
Cheers!
Geredd Hayes can’t wait to go to Murray bridge this year
Geredd Hayes im also in GreenEdge this year
Geredd Hayes and we got a trump trike last year
good stuff, hows greenedge running?
Bloody car drivers !
Who makes that Xavier College "Green Edge" HPV ?
3593893 The fairing/ roll cage is made by ozone fairings, I'm not sure who actually made the chassis
Onde acho essa música amigo??

Super exciting to watch the race from inside the cockpit. Great effort ! Nice video.
Hi! How many bikers is for 24h and 6h race? How much time biker can spend in velo?
2urbi9 our team had about 8 riders, the 24 hour race had over 200 teams and the 6 hour over 100 i think, in the races each of us spent about an hour in the trike at a time
Thx
Exelent video. I really enjoyed that you opened it with Glitch Mob. I know it's aerodynamics but the wedge tails seemed to prevent as many hard crashes. Was there a age range for the race?
Steven B the race is open for anyone 12 years and older
this is just like the new version of F1 race
But far more exciting.
what are you guys doing on the monitors at 7:10
Left screen has the lap times for our 2 trikes, right screen has their locations on the track. GPS locations are given by a cheap phone with a couple of battery packs in each of the trikes. Especially important to have the trikes locations so that we can find them in the event of a breakdown
That's cool, what software/ apps where you using at the event?
What are those called?
These are known as velomobiles, and most of the ones you see here are specifically designed for the australian international pedal prix series
