Getting kids & their parents involved is an excellent idea! The children learn new skills, get to socialize with other children, they spend time outside being physical (as opposed to sitting inside playing video games), they get a sense of community working with others towards a common goal, and gain a sense of pride and self-esteem for accomplishing their goals. Parents get to spend quality time with their children, teaching them life skills (like how to take care of their environment, using tools, social skills, taking pride in doing a good job, etc.) Parents can teach their children about local flora & fauna, about responsible stewardship of natural spaces. Parents get to know their neighbors and their neighbor's children, create or reinforce a sense of community through working together towards a common goal, develop relationships within the community, and gain a sense of pride in the local environment. People are less likely to litter if they have a vested interest: they work hard to clean the sidewalks, gutters and drains. They will no longer passively watch others drop rubbish in common areas, areas they cleaned! As hard as you work to improve your community, it is important for the community to get involved and help you clean up. Seriously, they are partially responsible for the conditions which compelled you to clean in the first place! Their participation is crucial for the continuing upkeep of the neighborhood. I approve of community involvement and participation!👍🏼😎

It is good to see you have a mini-chain saw. They work well if you can keep the gear drive cleaned out of debris from cutting. Have you noticed it is old guys who know how to work? A long handle flat blade scrapper would be useful if sharp. I use such a tool to clear ice, little chance of you needing it for breaking and scraping ice , but may be useful in clearing pest little barking dogs!
