I think it was about $5000 it took 4 weeks to complete. Had a great time at southwest. Good ppl fun environment! I did automotive painting previously. Just wanted to get my cdl and get some experience due to the fact of if I ever needed a fall back I would have something! Best decision ever

Hey Anthony once your out of school, You get to choose the company of your choice. And that company gives you options.

Why do you say that? I'm trying to decide between phenoix and Southwest but don't want to get screwed over. I'm looking to start soon with either one so I'd like to hear more about your experience

@@J.NOBODY.1 before you choose a school go there and talk to the students. DO NOT TAKE THE RECRUITERS WORD! Go speak to the students. I paid for a 3 week class at Phoenix Truck Driving Institute and about 5 weeks in I started to complain. There wasn't very many cash students there, maybe 3 of us out of 180 students. The rest were on grants. First... none of the instructors get along. You will see drama everyday while they're busy backstabbing each other. Then the admin in the building don't get along. It's a very hostile environment. Now for the learning... you will be so overcrowded that you MIGHT get one turn a day to practice a maneuver. You will sit there all day in a lawn chair for 6 hours just to get 5 mins behind the wheel to try and park a semi. It's ridiculous. Once you can leave the range and go on the road in the truck you might get 1 time a week. They put you in the truck with 4 students total. Each one will drive 20 mins and then back to the range. It was so bad I had to buy a spy cam and record the instructors and admin talking about how they were putting students on the back burner if a customer came in with more money. My class was 3 weeks and $3400 because I already had my permit. They had companies coming in paying $5k cash per student and we all got bumped to the back of the line. Once I recorded these vids for a week I drove down to their headquarters in Tucson and confronted them with it. I told them I would go to DOT and the place that issues the grants and report them. 4 days later they tested me and gave me my cdl. Worst experience ever. I shouldn't have to go all secret agent just to get what I paid for. My class was 3 weeks but ended up being 6. Would have been longer had I not taken an aggressive approach to make them honor the agreement. Southwest and Roadmasters does not crowd their classes. You actually get to drive. I even heard that a couple weeks ago Phoenix Truck Driving Institute was busted giving out cdls for cash without students even showing up. That's a rumor but I wouldn't doubt it. Best thing you can do is go talk to the students standing around away from the admin and instructors to get an honest assessment.

@@HotOneRecordz I really appreciate that. I had gone to seen phenoix trucking about 2 weeks ago and they seem way to pushy to get me into the program right away. When I asked about tuition assistance they told me I basically had to pay out right for the school and they didn't offer any financial assistance. I didn't get a chance to ask any students when I was there but someone else I talked to recently said they had a similar experience. But I'm gonna go see the southwest school in person. I'm leaning towards southwest. Sorry for your terrible experience. Especially when your fork out that much money and get treated like that it's ridiculous. Recruiters always want to force you into the school. Talking to the students is the best way to find out all the information.
