Did you know most of us are born ambidextrous? Did you know there's nothing unique in that and due to some that wanted "disciple" forced us to write with the right hand only?
I always resented the difficulty of writing cursive left-handed. Finally, at around age 45, I tried writing the way right-handed people do, but in mirror-image. By starting at the right side of the page and drawing my hand left, my cursive is absolutely beautiful. At first, I had to overcome the tendency to make the letters facing the original direction, but it took very little time to adjust, as if my natural ability was finally able to come out. My handwriting is now beautiful! I produce it with the same mechanics as a right handed person now- by drawing my hand across the page instead of pushing it. The only drawback is, other people can only read it by holding it up to a mirror. 😅
Hahaha, oh my God, no way! That's awesome, props to you!
Lefty mom of twins here.
Try being left-handed in a Catholic school years ago.Nuns would smack your hand with a ruler.... You learned to use your right hand
I can't imagine how tough that must've been.
Lefty here ❤
I’m a lefty but I wank with my right hand ! Just saying .
Left handiness is controlled by the “right” side of the brain ❤
My husband & I are both lefties. Only thing I really hate about being left handed is the ink smear I get if I don’t use the right pen!!! 😂
I'm left handed, rubbish at sports, arts and crafts and no where near being a genius.
Left handed lives matter..😂
Im lefty I can draw and paint with both hands.
There are nuances to consider about “handednesss”. For example, I write and eat with my left hand, but I throw a ball, use a hammer and saw, and many other things, with my right hand. Ambidexterity is another trait (I’m not ambidextrous) that complicates this picture. So to say ones is either left or right handed, is often not the whole picture.
I used to be left-handed until I started school and then they forced me to write with my right hand.
Surely, as a lefty, it is better to say humanity is restricted in it's potential by the 90% who are handicapped by being right handed 🤔🤔😁
Always knew i was a genius
Imagine a Scorpio Left-Handed. Two Layers of Mystery.
Rightys doing everything backwards is what's wrong with the world
you Bet i am Left Handed was rubbish at bat n ball games❤every thing is right handed
Only ones in their right mind
So were widows pick on hairline. Witches 🤣
It's true that left handed people think outside the box.Not to say that right handed people don't.
Watch most of the top actors ,left handed
I am right handed but my mother is right so i also do thinks in left handed way. I remember i got invited to dinner party and set all knives and fawkes the wrong way round for rightly handed but not me.
Right now I am holding my phone with my right hand and typing with my left 😂. I am also a motorcyclist and the throttle and front brake is on the right of the handlebar. Whilst the clutch lever is on the left. The gear lever is operated by my left foot and the rear brake is operated by my right foot. Coordination for me is key to getting everything right, in order to operate the bike. And not to be involved in an accident. Where in many cases it's not the riders fault. During my early years in school my teachers kept trying to force me to learn with my right hand. I couldn't do it. I would just end up writing squiggly words etc. I think us lefties are naturally left handed. We are not all the same 🙂.
Left is NOT right! More lefties have done much damage to humanity considering their total population. No wonder lefties shunned. and world in turmoil today Period!
Ambidextrous or multifunctional handiness is a useful trait.
I am left handed and when at school played cricket batting right handed then bowling left handed! Weird or what?
I'm a lefty and a graphic designer by trade. I was fortunate that they had just stopped harassing left-handed children's in elementary school when I started in 1958 in England. Back in the day the Catholic Church persecuted left-handed people as agents of the devil. The word sinister means left-handed, evil, demonic. And the word right means right handed, and also righteous, virtuous etc. On judgment day, the damned will be separated and arranged to Christ's left, while those who are saved will be arrayed to Christ's right. (personally, I don't believe this jive)
All the best people ;)
I don’t think that left or right handed is such a big issue. We can train ourselves, just like everyone can gain muscles by weight training. I am right handed(untalented person) but have no problem using chopsticks with my left hand. When I ride bicycles, depending on the situation, I get on and off a bike from both right and left side, etc. It’s actually both a bit challenging in the beginning and fun to switch hands in many activities.
I am left handed. I live in the UK so my question how do left handed people use rifles and other guns which are clearly right handed.
I’m a twin and a lefty and I’m 71 yrs of age, I have one LH son and one RH son, the LH son’s wife is also LH, their daughter is RH. We are all quite creative, I play piano and classic organ. Two sons play guitar and have good voices, the grandchildren are also creative in art and storytelling. Going back a generation - when my mum was in school they used to tie the left handlers arm behind their backs so they had to write right handed!
When I was learning to write, my very logical brain saw right handed kids starting at the left of the page and going the right> So, OBVIOUSLY, I started on the right side and went left. Perfect backwards letters. My teacher was horrified and convinced I was dyslexic.. Parent/Teacher conferences ensued. My mother, who is also left handed, apparently just laughed and told her what was happening. Spitting and sputtering, my teacher tried to protest. My mother was having none of it and told her to do her job and explain what to do. I remember writing backwards and my teacher's reaction. I did not find out about my mother's response until I was older. Of course I love my mother. But when I found about that conversation, mad respect was my response.
I naturally turn my paper to write. When in high school my shorthand teacher told the class that she could tell that there were no left-handed people in our classroom. Everyone knew I am left handed and they all turned and looked right at me. She came to my desk and had me do some short hand while she watched. She realized my writing was like a right handed writer because of the fact that in second grade my teacher taught me to do that when I write. I actually use both hands for different purposes. I do have twins but they and their sister are all right handed. My children are nothing like me at all. They are truly their father’s children. I will go no further than that. I love them anyway. I don’t know many left handed people.
My late father was a lefty and my brother is also left handed they are the most clever people
FINALLY! Thank you for understanding us leftys.
I'm left handed. I write with my left hand yet do everything from throwing a ball, using scissors etc with my right hand. I enjoy being creative which is a trait left handed people have.
I always believed that every now and then, God fixes the human assembly line, resulting in a few lefties. Then it all goes awry and we get a herd of right handers.
I remember going into a conference room where we were to eat lunch together before the meeting started. After everyone was seated, a right-handed person looked across the table and said, “Everyone on that side of the table is left-handed.” Sure enough, we had each picked a seat where we would bump elbows, one after the other. 50% left-handed. The occupations of all were geoscientists in case that makes a difference to anyone.
In tn it was once required if a woman was driving a car that a man with a red flag should run ahead of her!
I'm left handed and my left arm is much stronger than my right. I have tried to write with my right hand and just couldn't do it.
My son and his daughter are lefties
I’m 82, a leftie. Both my kids are lefties. My son is an incredible artist, and my daughter is extremely creative in the crafting arts! I was allowed to write left-handed as a child ( bless my mother), and have learned to adapt well. I can’t even use left-handed scissors! 😂. I enjoy this bit of uniqueness!
Being hated against in my family in elementary school, thru life situations, none of these situations had a love for lefties, The 1960’s were the worst years dealing with Catholics,WW1and WW2 era adults,Christian’s,racial discrimination, educators. These adults had a hatred for lefties. Dating, marriage, sexual positions, sitting at the dinner table, being left out of activities. Right now today November 2024,I have been a positive constructive survivor. As a lefty I learned how to manipulate the work force and continue to work till this day.Great health, positive attitude, constructive adventures, and I make sure that I put the fear of Creator GOD in my right hand fellow human beings.I enjoy it. I use both hands some what evenly and I can do most task backwards and these right hand cry babies get together and cannot figure out how I get it done. All lefties should receive multimillion dollar compensation for what a right hand society has inflicted upon us. Till this day most of my siblings, coworkers and associates never figure out that I am left handed. And it is in plain sight. Remember the old sci-fi movie Children of the damn??? That is what a right hand society will do to lefties if it was allowed. Stand your ground lefties and never stop believing in what you know is right. I am still learning how to love some of these right hand fuckers and lefties that think like right hand people.
I wright and eat lefty but throw and bat righty. This has to do with my eyes. My left eye is my dominant one.
I'm left handed. I think we should be able to collect disability social security payments. 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂😁😁
I worked at the Post Office for 25 years and everything is set up for right handed people! Letter cases and machines!
Being left handed and growing up in the 50's/60's. Teachers gave me a hard time. They would wrap you over the knuckles and make you swap hands. One day, I had enough when a teacher did this, I told him I would make a better teacher than him. I challenged him to write something on the black board and the class had to copy it down. I then approached the board and did the same thing. Turning to face my friends, I asked them who's writing was easier to follow. They all said mine and pointed out that teachers writing was being covered up by his body as he wrote on the board, but mine was exposed for the pupils to write down straight away. A few mumbles and grumbles from teacher and he told me to sit down. He never bothered me again.
I'm left-handed. First grade teacher tried to make me right handed until my Mom had a very, not nice, conversation with her. Because of injuries when I was a child, my left side has always been weaker. I do many things right handed, but things that require precision, like eating, writing, etc, must be done with my left hand.
Left handed people learn to do tasks with both hands, for some people, they even use one eye at a time. The only issue that I have found is winding a right handed hose, it can be done but it has to be twisted in an unnatural manor. Scissors aren't a problem, leftie's have creative problem solving skills. It is fun to watch a right handed person do a task geared for a leftie.
