A journey through my daily life with no purpose other than to (attempt to) post a vlog each day for a year. You'll see life through the eyes of a software developer and a motorcyclist (and instructor). You'll see a lot of me (or at least hear a lot from me), some of my son and occasionally my wife.
Let's see where this takes us....

600 or 900?
The Ryker in this video is a 600. To my knowledge, the start up procedure should be the same between the 600 and 900. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great day!
Having a circle one being like Google Nest Can it connect at apple settings?
😊😊😊good😊😊😊 0:39
Thank you for watching! Have a great day...
Great video! The background music was a little overpowering, it would have nice to hear what you were talking about
@brucerumrey8894 Agreed, the music didn't turn out like I wanted and really takes away from the video. One day I'll redo the video... Thanks for taking the time to comment and sharing your thoughts. Have a great day!
Yes I needed this
I'm happy the video helped! Have a great day!
parking break button step missing
@exrayZap-ry1gh I'm not sure what you mean? During the start procedure? Or after starting the Can Am?
In case you're wondering, I didn't leave the PIN as 1-2-3-4-5 😂
Very helpful video but music sound are very annoying
Thanks for the feedback. I'm happy the video was helpful. Sorry the music was annoying. Hopefully soon I'll run through changing the oil again and make another video with better sounds. Thank you and have a great day!
Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome! I hope it was helpful. Have a great day!
My bike wont recognise the usb because it says no updates available and i got my bike before december 2023. Confused, does it now work with 3.2 usc stick maybe
@ev1lcorkhum I'm not aware of any limitations on the USB stick. The one I used is several years old, like 6 or 7 years old. It's a USB-A stick. I used a USB-A to USB-C converter. I'll be at the dealership tomorrow. I'll ask the techs if they're aware of any limitations or requirements on the USB stick.
Oh, one quick question, did you unzip the downloaded file?
@ThePolishDad I sure did, I even double checked to make sure the usb-c drive was working granted its brand new but the file even shows up on my phone when I plug it in. It has to be the drive which is 3.2 might not be compatible with the infotainment system moy sure.
@@ev1lcorkhum I asked the Harley tech about it today and he wasn't aware of any limitations on the USB stick. Do you have another USB stick you can try? I was thinking that maybe you need to do a previous update first. But that doesn't seem to make sense because how would it know? An update file is an update file... What version is your IM currently running?
@ThePolishDad I do but don't have the usb-c adapter which is why I just bought a new USB to type c one.
This was very helpful thank you!
Hi @Aquavarna! Thanks for the feedback, happy to know it was helpful. Have you done the install? How did it go? Have a great day!
Did you unzip the downloaded update before installing in the PAm?
Yes, the file needs to be unzipped before copying it to the thumb drive. Put the file in the root (top level) of the thumb drive. When you do the software update, it will automatically pick up the unzipped file on the thumb drive. Let me know how the update goes, and if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching. Have a great day!
@@ThePolishDad All good, thank you. Will now take some getting use to having a 'green' spring flashing. Glad to see the heated grip symbol gone. Cheers.
@@nevillegrego7112 Yeah, took a little bit to get used to the green spring, because it's different. But I do like it better than the yellow! Cheers!
Thanks for the breakdown! Super helpful for Panam owners all over
You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful! Happy New Year!
Do people really need a video on this? And is this method some miraculous time saver over how you are supposed to start the bike? Nope to either.
Good points... I agree, this isn't a miraculous timesaver or anything, just the normal start procedure for a Ryker. It wasn't intended to be a timesaver. I do think it's helpful for people who are unfamiliar with the start procedures or haven't started one for a while. Especially since different Can-Ams have different start procedures. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great day! 😀
@@ThePolishDadI find it helpful, thanks for posting.
@jaycalva2477 I'm glad you found it helpful. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Have a great day!
too much preface and not enough repairing. do you like to hear yourself talk?
Thanks for the feedback @bigchuy... I've added chapters to the description to make it easier/faster to jump to the actual repair and skip the preface. Let me know how it works for you. Have a great day!
I realize that this video made almost 5 years ago. so after 5 years do you still think it is your primarily mouse? does it cause thumb fatigue?
Hi @mazensayed343, this particular mouse is not my primary driver. I do continue to use a thumb ball mouse - I find it's the most comfortable mouse to use. It doesn't cause any wrist-strain and I can use it in very limited spaces. For example, I can put it on my thigh when I'm sitting somewhere that doesn't have a flat surface and use it. I've been using a thumb ball mouse for about 25 years, if not longer, and have not noticed any thumb fatigue at all. The one drawback I've noticed is that it's a little harder to get the cursor percussion using your thumb over a traditional mouse. The MX Ergo, siren in this video, has a button that will allow down the cursor movement. The mouse I'm using now, Logitech M575, does not have that feature. I'm planning on doing a follow up video about the MX Ergo and why I switched to the M575. That's for your comment and watching the video. Please let me know if there's anything else I can help with.

How is it going?, good - would you like more views?~have a good day, The- 📢
Of course! Who wouldn't want more views?
I remember them being a quarter...and free if you did it on the train tracks.
🤣🤣🤣 Yeah, I remember them being a quarter too! Unfortunately for me, I've been collecting them so long and have so many, I can't pass them up anymore! My brother and I would often smash coins on train tracks... I was always afraid the train would derail - it never did. Maybe that was just urban legend! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Technically it's how to turn $1.01 into $0.00
I only needed the Dollar, the Penny was already in the machine... So I guess it's how to turn $1.00 into $0.00!! 😭🤣 Thanks for watching and commenting!
Enjoyed your Early Christmas !!! 😊
Thank you!
Love this video. Made me want to get this phone!
Thank you!
Love the top down angle of this!
Thank you! It was spur of the moment. I like the way it turn out too.
Rather than add a dumb 'wedgey thing' on the plus model, they should have upgraded the LR click switches and better ball bearings - IOW a truely improved M570!
Very cool
Thank you!
I was confused at first because I skipped ahead a little. I was like, "why is the dumb ass taking off his exhaust and kick starter to change his oil?" I had to go back and listen to what you said in the opening. I don't have a CB360, but that seems like a horrible design. On my CB750 the oil filter comes off at the front with one screw, takes about ten minutes to do an oil change. How often do they suggest you open it up like that and clean the oil slinger? Hopefully not every oil change.
Believe it or not, they suggest every oil change! I try to put some common sense around that. I'll take a look at the oil when I change it, if it's gritty or really dirty, then I'll crack it open and clean the filter. If not, I'll put me oil in and be done. Thanks for your comment!
I just got mine & slowly learning it’s bells & whistles! Got stuck starting it this morning, I thank you for your video!!!
I'm happy to hear the video helped! 👍🏼 Hope you're enjoying your CamAm
Lose background music. It is very annoying and distracting. I couldn't even finishing watching the video.
Thanks for your feedback! I've been trying to figure out how to fix the sound/music on the video short of recreating it with different or no music...
What was it that fell out of the cover at the 11:30 mark? Where does that washer/spacer go?
Thanks I’m getting mines shipped in and I’m definitely studying this lol
Happy to hear it helps! The start up sequence seems kinda crazy! After you do it a few times you'll be starting it without even thinking about it!!!
Yikes!
fellow. How are you?~ Like i!you made fantastic .
Thank you! I'm glad you liked the video!
I love this
Thank you!
For a proper oil filter screen clean , the filter should be removed from the body filter screen or use at list brake fluid applied through it . 4 hands are quite handy , I just do it with mines . Just wonder , how quick your engine oil gets darker ! ( mine gets quite quickly ) Yes , changing gaskets it's always a good idea but sometimes not enough . You should use a thin film of gasket sealant on both sides of the gasket ( from the equator to bottom ) to not make the mistake of over tightening the bolts to avoid leaks !
Thanks for the comment and suggestions Joao! All great tips. Since we don't have it running yet, we have yet to determine how quickly the oil gets dark. Will definitely let you know when we get it running and starting riding it. Take care!
The RUBBER/MATT covering they use on the device will start to wear off overtime, and the mouse will become sticky , I have had the mouse now for over 2 years , and this is my biggest issue with it after about 18 months if you use the mouse a lot this will become very noticeable .
Hi TheSlacky755, I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the MX Ergo. I have two of them, one for over 3.5 years and the other for about 2 years. The one I've had for 3.5 years is my daily driver - I take it whenever and whenever I go. It gets packed into a laptop bag and tossed around quite a bit. I've yet to have any trouble with the rubber/mat covering the mouse. In fact, it still looks pretty much new. The only trouble I've had with it, and this is over the past three or so weeks, is the rubber mat on the bottom of the mouse, the one connected to the metal base plate. It started coming off, got dust and dirt and wouldn't stay on the metal plate anymore. I gave up trying to make it stay and have been using it without the rubber mat. I've actually come to like using it that way. Thanks for sharing your experience...
@@ThePolishDad I have had the same issue with the rubber on the bottom plate also , I love this mouse but for the cost i just wish that they had not used the texturized coating in the first place , I am probably going to replace it with the revised Logitech m575 thanks for reply
Hey @TheSlacky755, I took a look at the Logitech m575 and it sure is a nice looking mouse, especially in the white - i really like that. Price is certainly right! One of the features I've really come to like and use a lot of the button on the side next to the ball that slows the cursor down. It would take some getting used to not to have that anymore. If/when i need a new mouse, i will definitely look at the m575. Thanks and have a great day!
Lol
It wants to eat the people lol
She loves both ⚽ and 🏈
is that his mother cat down dare?
No, that's not the mother cat. 🙂 More like a brother cat!
@@ThePolishDad are they related? 😺
Nope, other than they're both strays. We picked the older (bigger) one up at the animal shelter. The other one my wife found at the laundry mat when the kitten was only two weeks old. Now that I write that, maybe in some distance way they are related! 😂
@@ThePolishDad are there's more cat or other pets or just two of does cat
We have two cats and two dogs...
Ive been looking for a replacement for my m570 and this might be it
I have been so pleased with it. My biggest concern was battery life. In my opinion the battery life is incredible - at least 8 months, probably longer (I should keep track the next time I charge them). I leave the one I use with the personal computer on all the time and I charge it once, maybe twice a year. The one thing I don't like about it, and it's a small annoyance, not a reason not to buy, is the little rubber mat on the bottom. It's not permanently attached, every once in a while it comes off and it's a small hair to put it on, getting it aligned just right. This is the best 'mouse' I've ever had and won't hesitate to purchase another one when needed.
@@ThePolishDad Thank you for the advice, the only reason I'm hesitant to buy this mouse is the 100 dollar price tag
Yeah, it does seem a bit steep. The price initially held me back from purchasing it. I decided to purchase one for my work laptop since I use it everyday and don't mind spending a little extra if it's going to help. It wasn't an easy decision because of the price. However, after getting it and using it, I don't regret spending the extra money for it. In fact, I was so pleased I ended up buying one for my personal computer, which I don't use nearly as often. One other thing to consider, it can be connected to two laptops/computers. I connected it between my work laptop and one I use for teaching. Connecting to the two devices, and switching between the two devices, is very easy. Not trying to spend your money... For me, it was worth the extra dollars...
@@ThePolishDad do you think its still worth to buy if you already have the logitech m570 trackball mouse? I'm really considering it because I've had this specific trackball for around 2 years
Yes, I do feel it's worth it. I was in the same position as you, had the m570 (which I loved and had several years), was looking at this one, and the price was holding me back. I purchased this and haven't looked back. The precision of the trackball is better than the m570, smoother. Also, it has an easily reachable button to slow down the cursor speed for more precision when selecting something. I use this a lot when taking screenshots and want to get the corners exact. If you do buy it, let me know your thoughts...
“Leading the line today we have Tiddles Meo. He has a claw pointed at the goal when he’s up front. Bit of a hiss for defenders when he strikes”
Thank you for the laugh today!!
@@ThePolishDad no worries m8 hope you keep making sick content!
A little from the Mallet?? Yeah right more like a CRAP TON.
🤣 Indeed!! Thanks for your comment!
Do I need to clean the filter I only have 800 miles on it when I had it at the shop they changed it at 500 but it's been almost 2 years since it been done any advice please
Depending on how it's been ridden, I don't think you'd need to clean the filter at this time. Check the oil when you change it, if it looks clean, I wouldn't clean the filter now. If it looks dirty and has crud, probably a sign it should be cleaned.
Which wire is POSITIVE & NEGATIVE???
I believe the red is the positive and the black is negative. As long as you keep the wires/polarity the same between the two ends, you'll be fine.
GOOD!
Thank you!
Is this the same system the xl350 oil system has?? I am trying to clean/fix the oil problems I'm having on my 73' Honda XL350! Please help!
I honestly don't know if this is the same oil system as the xl350. Sorry I can't help more.
Video is good, the music however is very annoying. Would be better to have no music in my opinion.
Thanks for your comment! Agreed! It is annoying and takes away from the video. I am seriously contemplating redoing the video and uploading it again.
How many quarts of oil does this take
The service manual we have says 3.2 US quarts / 1.5 liters.
Good Lord who last put that drain plug in, it's not a lug nut!!
Yeah, that's exactly what we were thinking!!! I'm happy nothing busted while we were trying to get it off. I was afraid we'd sheer the head off the bolt!
Good video but again you don't need the music. It adds nothing of value, in fact takes away from. I'd rather listen to the sounds of clanking tools and the birds singing in your neighbourhood.
Agreed! Thank you for your comment. I wish I knew how to fix the sound in UA-cam. Although I am seriously considering just redoing the whole video with better and quieter sound!
How did you know when to stop putting oil in?
The service manual says the capacity is 3.2 US pints / 1.5 liters. We put in what we thought was about that much, then used the dipstick to add a little more until we got it in the good area.
