This is so inspiring
Ahh great to hear!
Hello Marylin What was your gpa when the accepted you and how much the fellowship scholarship was?
Great place, my son loves it.
Congrats! And you look gorgeous
Vu Duong thanks Vu! Miss you!
Yasssssss! Proud of you!
Congrats!! Did you do the whole thing yourself? I know you said your sister did the cover...I mean publish it all yourself? What did she design the cover on?
Hi! Thanks! I wrote myself and hired an editor. I hired a formatter through fiverr. My sister used photoshop for the cover.
@@MarVaughn09 Thanks for reply. So once the formatter did the initial format and gave it back to you, did you have to make any changes subsequently? And if so, did that formatter charge you again?
One Life Show up Breathe yes I was able to go back and forth with my formatter, several times. Some agreements say up to 5 revisions but it depends, mine was really chill and open
@@MarVaughn09 Thanks. I know someone who had a format job done and they then charged them 60 % again to change something. Now I will tell her to look for someone who includes revisions.
How did you decide to not work in tech/entertainment? Product marketing manager/etc? It’d be easy with an mba
ClashOfClans that is a common route and I did some interviews but didn’t get any of those roles
Marilyn Vaughn I think you could easily work as a product manager or manager at Disney/Hulu/nbc/
What is an MBA worth it for? if i am a fresh graduate and know that down the line i want an mba in the future, if i should just directly get an mba after graduating with my bachelors
ClashOfClans it was worth it, especially at usc which has great international ties and business connections in LA but I think MBAs are best when you have some experience under your belt. The average work experience for my class was 5 years.
Update after graduating with your MBA?
ClashOfClans I returned home to AL and I work in the government cloud consulting space although I still dabble in creative things and I plan to publish a book later this year! Follow this channel and my twitter @marilyn_renee for updates!
What book did you used to take the GRE?? Any tip for the GRE test?? I’m planning on buying the Kaplan :)
Oh and how do you manage to pay for the tuition? If you don’t mind me asking ^^. Any financial aid for grad student?
Athena Hey I believe I used Kaplan! I applied through The Consortium, it’s an organization that strives to place more minorities in business school and corporations. Definitely check them out, they covered my tuition. I took out a federal loan for living expenses since it was a full-time program so I was not working.
My aunt runs the barnyard! And her name is Kami drane combs she rocks go barnyard!!!!
Hi Marilyn, thanks for posting this. I'm finishing up my bachelors in December and I'm exploring graduate programs. I honestly don't know where to begin but it sounds like the GRE is the first thing I should be studying for. When did you submit your application and how long did you study for?
Katie White hi! I believe i started studying late August and took the test in November and December ahead of a January deadline. I wanted to see if I could get a better score so I took again in early January after already submitting my applications and explaining in a supplementary essay that I was intending to take the test again. I only had 2 months before the first time, the more time and repetitions you can allow, the better
Okay thanks! USC is definitely on my list and I just received my GRE study book in the mail! Thanks for posting this and responding :)
Thanks for supporting!!
Very good!!! Made me want some wings.
Hi Marilyn
