OCT 5, 2024: Average asking rents for all housing property types across Canada just saw their slowest rate of growth since October 2021 - largely due to falling international student enrolment due to immigration caps, a new report says. A Leger poll commissioned by OMNI also revealed that 67% of immigrants who have been living in Canada for over six years want to see a crackdown on policy regarding international student programs. Among South Asian immigrants that figure increases to 77%. The majority of immigrants living in Canada want to see stricter policies on international students and that sentiment is felt most strongly among South Asian immigrants Canada told India to halt Ghost Consulting because bad agents (posing as immigration specialists) have been operating in an unbridled market in India, deceiving wannabe international students with permanent residency fantasies! Canada never guaranteed temporary Indian students lengthy work and permanent residency.
