I find this to be an extremely compelling case in how to not present research. For heaven's sakes, I have no idea what school level you're at, but you should know how to correctly cite your sources and supply evidence. Listen, I'm just some random guy on the internet who got this in my feed for absolutely no perceivable reason, but because I've got absolutely nothing to do for the next 27 minutes, I've got a few small suggestions: 1. Where are you getting your definition of "Racism" from? There are hundreds of different Social Justice Advocate groups that define it in varying ways. Is this from Merriam-Webster, which is hilariously open about its bias towards culturally progressive ideas? Is this your own personal belief or opinion? I completely agree with your definition, but just think 1. Your point on the "Racial Discrimination" Slide at 0:52 is somewhat misleading. In this case, you put a statistic (Which isn't sourced and I honestly find near-impossible to believe just assuming that you are currently living in western nations that have far higher white percentages of the population.) Again assuming that you live in the USA, the actual statistics are that out of the population of unemployed people over the course of 2000-2020, black people had a 70-100% greater unemployment rate than white people, averaging ~14% for blacks and ~7% for whites. However, this discounts the fact that blacks still only make up 14% of unemployment within the population, which is roughly matching their national population. If anything, hispanic people AND black people are being equally "discriminated" against, if you're able to swallow the idea that this discrepency is solely due to race-based prejudice, and ASIAN people are being treated more favorably based on race than white people. Of course, it barely has anything to do with "positive" or "negative" discrimination towards people, but FAR more to do with cultural values. (usafacts.org/articles/unemployment-race-coronavirus-income-great-recession-job-loss-2020/?ND-Economy&msclkid=468df8f337cf1d25cd499afe637d681a) 2. The idea that "Indirect Discrimination" exists is extremely contentious. Again, I have no idea where you're from, but assuming you're from a western nation such as the USA, I'll use the example of crack cocaine. Cocaine and Crack Cocaine are both extremely addictive and currently illegalized drugs, with normal cocaine normally being bought and used in white neighborhoods and crack cocaine being primarily peddled in low-income black communities. There was a law passed that made the jail sentences for crack cocaine higher than that of normal cocaine despite their being only marginal differences between the two. Many people use this as a stepping stone to talk about the inherent racism of government institutions, but there is a problem: The people who pushed this legislation to criminalize crack cocaine? They were black. Leaders of these low-income black communities saw the damage that these drugs were doing and tried to get the government to make deterring young kids from using it by having harsher penalties. So yes, it negatively affects black people more than white people to increase the sentence on using crack, but it was put forwards by black people. Were these people discriminating against themselves? No, they were trying to stop a serious problem by rashly (and I would personally say, wrongly) deterring people via harsher law enforcement. Basically, it's more complicated than what you said, and my issue with this presentation is that it captured precisely 0% of the nuance the topic deserves. 3. Discrimination based on gender. Yeah, that's complicated. Plenty of sexual harassment and discrimination happens wrongly to people who deserve better. The only little caveat I would throw in is that men and women generally have different temperments: Men are more likely to be aggressive and confrontational, women are more likely to be personable and compassionate. Yes, people who don't like their child based on their gender are gigantic tools, but saying "I hope I have a boy/girl" isn't sexist lmao. 4. Your art. I don't really love it, but hey, the shading looks smooth. Props to you. The rising fist iconography lends some revolutionary undertones, however. Which is just funny to me. 5. Racial profiling: It's bad to lable people based on their skin color, I agree. I don't know much about "police subculture" or whatever, but I do know that some ethnic groups commit more crimes than others. Not going to say it's right or wrong, but again, it's kind of more complicated than that. Black people don't take up nearly half of violent crimes for absolutely no apparent reason other than racism. I'm NOT SAYING BLACK PEOPLE ARE VIOLENT. Again, it comes down to cultural values and crime rates in cities. My agreement with you stops here, hoewver, as you say that an exterior body for the purpose of providing oversight to police officers is required. Buddy, you want to institute a top-down government? Sure, because the government's never had any racist, classist, or sexist policies. 6. Fully agree with the fact that discrimination against people based on sex is wrong. However, not everything needs to be an even split. For example, men make up 90% of most STEM fields while women make up the vast majority of service and social fields, like teaching and nursing. People are just built different, and advertising towards what you want is necessary in order to hire people with skills and interests you need. There's a reason you don't see female bricklayers. Overall, I genuinely don't know why I did this. I'm absolutely positive that nobody will ever see this. And if you do somehow, then tell me why and how I'm wrong because I'm dumb. Thanks.
