Dutch award-winning soprano Josefien Stoppelenburg is best known for her dazzling vocal agility and her passionate and insightful interpretations.
Josefien performed several times for Dutch Royal Family and toured in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, the Arab Emirates, South America and the United States. She performs all over the United States and Europe as a specialist performer and teacher of Baroque Music and as a concert singer.
Stoppelenburg is also a painter, known for her colorful and imaginative artworks.

Its first public performance was given on the 9th January 1976, at Schloss Elmau in Germany by Osian Ellis and Peter Pears. The collection of pieces are intended for High Voice and Harp. The poems for which the music was written for are by Robert Burns.

This is one of the finest performances of this aria that I have heard. Ms. Stoppelenburg is one of this country's finest vocal artists. Few can negotiate the rapid coloratura passages with such accuracy of pitch and consistency of tonal beauty.
