It is so fun to see Larry Bird playing in his high school and college, because his play didn't really change much. He just got more accurate as time went on. He was the catalyst and driving force in those teams. It killed him when his college team was beaten by MSU & Magic Johnson. They double and triple teamed Larry and because his team depended on his scoring and passing to score, they lost. Even though Illinois State was a 30-0 team, it pretty much depended on him. From that day forward, he was determined to beat the Lakers. Now Magic was unhappy because he lost ROY to Larry. So from then on both Larry and Magic kept track of what the other was doing and how they were playing, driving themselves to practice more because they thought that is what the other one was doing. Determined to even the score.

One thing to take into consideration is that Magic was a Point Guard and Bird was a Small Forward. - Larry Bird - Career NBA playing statistics Points 21,791 (24.3 ppg) Rebounds 8,974 (10.0 rpg) Assists 5,695 (6.3 apg) And Larry and DJ's mind were in sync with each other. That is why you had those passes to DJ. and DJ also passed to Bird in the same manner. Larry said that DJ was the best player he ever played with. And that is saying a lot when you consider how good McHale, Parish, Ainge and Walton were. If you want to see good post moves. There is at least one video of Kevin McHale doing his moves and it is a good one. Thank you. I did look at a video of LeBron James' passing. He is good, but the defense is so loose and I didn't see any that he made that were better than Bird's and I wasn't impressed. Had to add this bit of information. Larry Bird had talent and grit. He had season ending surgeries in Nov. of 88. They cut the Achilles tendons to remove bone spurs from both of his feet. But the next season he came back, played 75 games and averaged 24.3Pts, 9.5TRb, 7.5Ast and 1.4 Stl.

Giving Bird all these injuries and pains, was Gods way of making things fair for the rest of them. Bird is the only one MJ didn't beat, while Bird was already on the tail end of his career... Magic, Isiah etc all got beaten by MJ. Magic is a better passer albeit it slightly, but Bird had more to his game ... and saying LBJ is better is almost blasphemy, I wouldn't even pick him for the team, let alone teh starting line up, LBJ is the only one calling himself the GOAT ... a GOAT with a flopping reel. Bird, MJ, Pippin, Shaq en Wilt would be in my starting line up and having Kareem, Magic, Dominic, Kobe etc as back up... LBJ is outside my top 10 or even 20

Another little known fact. Larry Bird is the only player of that stacked era that has a winner record against Jordan. Both in the regular season and the playoffs. He’s the only player of that era that Jordan couldn’t get the best of. They faced each other a total of 34 times in NBA games. LB has a 23-11 winning record over MJ, including a 6-0 record in playoffs. Look it up.

Larry and Magic both played together on the dream team for the gold medal, unfortunately Larrys back had given out by then and he retired, he said he wasnt good enough to participate - but Magic and others told Larry "man you HAVE to be there its the gold medal and it wouldnt be the same without you. His back limited his minutes on court, and was the very last time larry played. The dream team got mad respect in europe and even though they all knew Larry could barely play they all loved him and out of respect they gave him a big curtain call chanting his name so loud Larry finally had to go out and play at the end, they loved the guy so much they didnt care about his limited play it was a thank you for all the great moments he had given them before.

To make things clear. AIDS is the name of the disease, while HIV is the name of the virus "that causes the disease". HIV can literally blind your T CELLS and once they can't see anymore, they could not fight any Foreign Bodies. Like HIV. Then the opportunistic diseases takes over our body. Example: Pneumonia.

Magic- best nickname ever fosho. GOAT in basketball is so tough because of how artistic the sport can be. If total numbers are all that matter, then you'll have one answer... It would be easier to weigh position by position, but nobody'll go for that. All that said, 90's Jordan was the most dominant player I've seen, and I HATED that dude then 😅 I think we should all just agree that we love the poetry that can be basketball.

I dont put Luka in the same category as Bird. Bird was just as dangerous without the ball in his hands. When Luka passes the ball that's it. His defense is awful at times. I have watched guys blow right by him and he acts like he doesn't care...He spends half his time crying to the refs...Larry wasn't that guy. Luka is like that guy whos just waiting for his turn to talk. He only really turns it on with the ball in his hands. He is out of shape for a 25 YO NBA player and his handles are suspect. How many times did he get stripped against the Cs in the finals alone? Luka has some growing up to do if he wants to be a great player and not just a great offensive player

What is the point of your comment? Are you saying that Rondo is not underrated? Are you saying that no NBA player at all is underrated since people were not able to predict if they would be valuable or not? If someone doesn't get the appreciation they deserve that qualifies them for being underrated or underappreciated. I won't go into details about why Rondo was underrated because that's the purpose of this video. But whenever I use that term "underrated," that's the context in which I'm using the word. So, therefore, I won't stop.

A lot of the aids information we know now wasn’t known back then. And I think when they’re asking the question, how is that possible or why did this happen to me? It’s more in a sense of denial and touching moment and you made some points but then you ruined it with that damn horn and it just changed the whole mood.
