Whats the best month to go ski in zermatt? Late December or January? Mostly asking for crowd flow
It’s hard to say. You will have crowds on both months. If I choose, I would go in January because it’s cheaper (no longer Christmas week) and fewer tourists in Zermatt itself. There are many more visitors to Zermatt village than skiers, so there are big crowds and everything is booked in advance in the village. The slopes may be less crowded, although I don’t think there is a big difference between Dec and Jan when it comes to slopes.
@@SwissAdventureThanks! How about snow quality? Is it still good in January?
@@sebastianinigo3681 It's always good there unless you wait till April (when snow becomes watery at the village level). Generally, the entire area is very elevated and has early snowfalls, so this is definitely not the slopes that will have bad snow. The only issue could be that on some days the winds are too strong to let people go to the very top. This is hard to predict and you will see it only if you come. But also it's not like everyday, I encountered it a few times only (out of dozens). So, yes, January (especially later dates) is great for skiing in Zermatt. My personal preference is March. Day time is long enough (no early closure of slopes), it's not too cold (it can get chilly in January) and no watery snow conditions.
Are the drag lifts annoying?
Not really. You don't normally relax there fully. But they're fun!
@ if the weather is nice yeh sure haha
@@maximilianblank for sure, bad weather and slippery snow make it hard. But at that elevation, you won't have melted snow before the season ends.
I hiked here in the summer and now I'm coming back next month. Can't wait!
Why did you ignore all the skiing on the other side of the valley? This should be called skiing Grindelwald First.
That part belongs mostly to Wengen and Mannlichen. So yes, this video shows the area around Grindelwald First.
Your attention to detail is incredible. Every shot feels like a postcard!
Thank you! Doing my best.
"Hirli is not very high (only 2770m)", bro, my entire country doesn't even go past 2230m and it takes a week to drive across it
they have the blue trail to zermatt from gornergrat?
not to Zermatt , only to Riffleberg. The official map is here: www.zermatt.ch/en/Lifts-pistes/Panokarte-Ausflugsberge/Piste-map-Winter-panorama
When was this filmed?
February 2024
Yeah, I've gotten exactly the same question xD
NEW! Skiing in the famous Grindelwald: ua-cam.com/video/eSwd1nNUMlc/v-deo.html
Loved the video! The fact that you`ve added subtitles instead of voice over I really liked, cause you can hear the sound of the snow. Even the music was cool! Guess your video convinced me to visit Saas Fee! Thank you! Keep doing what you are doing!
Thank you!!!
Nice video but you missed a lot of Saas-Fee's best skiing - Langfluh, Spielboden and Plattjen.
Sorry, it was hard to record everything. I tried to make a general video to give an impression about Saas Fee. Quite like in Zermatt, there is a lot more to show. Pity I have little time to do it (one video takes a few days usually).
@@SwissAdventure Understood! Will be back in Saas-Fee in March and April.
We just needed Swiss mountain music

Very good video

some nice images here.. can i ask what you used for the video
iPhone, believe it or not!
Hi! Awesome video, it's stunning. When did you film this???
End of December. But it's the same until the end of April. Snow stayed this year until late June at 3000m. And near 3800m, snow is always there
zermatt is easy i would say is for beginners to itermdiate however if u want something harder i recomend Verbier where is more for pro
yes!
Nice video! Which month do you prefer for snow conditions? Is February ok?
I filmed it in December. February through March and early April are great times. Later in April the snow closer to the village becomes a bit too wet. But it also depends on the year. Sometimes it's great. Sometimes not. Dec-Jan is not so nice because of an early sunset.
I want to go to Zermatt firs week of March, is it a good month to go? is there still snow in March? is one week too much for Zermatt?
March is the best time to come skiing. Sunset is not so late. Snow is definitely everywhere. Even in the summer, you can ski at the top of the mountain (3800 m). The season the Zermatt valley normally ends somewhere around April 20. In April it can get a bit too warm sometimes. But in March it's perfect.
How many days would it take to ski most of the areas in this video
Depends. Perhaps 3-4 if you're a good skier and want to ski each slope a few times. But if you want to enjoy the slopes in different ways, then a week or two.
@@SwissAdventure thank you for your response. I live in the USA but my daughter lives in Northern Italy so I hope to go back again and do some skiing
Greetings from califournia usa. Great video. You are very good and I like the music. Thank you very much
THANKS!! GOOD INFORMATION!
Thank you very much for the amazing video! Very beautiful! What time of year you were there? (what dates) 😍

Your really fortunate to live in Switzerland!!!
My only regret watching this is that I could only give it one thumbs-up. 😢 Awesome video. Thank you!
Great video! How is there from 11 april?
How is at from 11 april?
Recorded in Feb 2024.
Yes, the area is a bit expensive. But not as much as Zermatt and, if you come during the week, it should be least expensive.
Just returned back to watch it again before my trip to the swiss mountains in March. This video deserves way more views!
The skiing is smooth, safe and with extra clear winter scenery like a bird flying down from the mountains. Great vlog by a handsome boy.
Thank you a lot! Doing my best to make it entertaining but not too loaded with a talking head.
Oh wow🤩 The slopes look really amazing, such wide runs! thank you so much for this video!! I think I like it even more than Zermatt...
Thanks so much! 😊
Wow...in complete contrast of when we were there in September last year😁 Thank you!
Trash background music.
This was fantastic thank you!
You are welcome!
Country music in Zermatt video is a bit strange no ? 😊 Bravo Swiss Adventure for your pleasant and nice video !
Oh yes! I put it there intentionally, to see the reaction. Next time it will be a more traditional soundtrack 😂
I like the red slopes ! 😂
When I see the Matterhorn, I'm sure god exist, otherwise how such a wonderful mountain could exist ? 😂 Same with the K2 in Himalaya.
Yes, although it's not as tall as K2, it's still marvelous and stunning in any weather!
Good job videoing!! We were in Zermatt twice., but we are seniors, too old to ski, thank you for skiing for us😁👍👍we loooove theview God created.
I think this video saved me a lot of money. Most of this are just narrow paths almost no actual slopes
I agree. Looks like a lot of cat walks. Not my favorite !
This is a mountain not a hill
That's funny I see a lot of big wide open ski runs
@@R.R.in-Cali honestly where? 4:04, 5:25, 6:10, 6:30, 8:02, 9:11, 10:23, 10:55, 15:35, 16:28, 17:47, 23:39, 25:07, 26:01, 31:26, 34:44, 36:40. The few wide slopes we can see (e.g. at 21:00), ultimately end up in a narrow path again --> 23:39
JAPOW better to do skiing.
Fantastic video, breathtaking scenery, thanks for sharing. I hope I could go there to ski one day.
Horrible tast in music
awesome masterpiece in 4K UHD
