Dull Life clip - Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sydney, 8th January 2010
Short clip of Dull Life.
The audio's pretty abrasive, so you might want to turn your speakers down.

I call B.Shat. its sounds like disorganization
Without question the nest definition of Love.
This should come across as no suprise to an artist. What looks or may sound as chaos is beyond 100 percent premeditated.
Shit interviewer
I love these guys
Cedric💚
Ithink it's chemistry the band The audience that's what creates the awesomeness of the performance
Amputexture awesome album
1:03 Omar doing curls with the mic 😂
I’m glad this is the explanation they give for the lyrics, cause i have no freaking idea what they are saying and I’ve just been enjoying the music how he says to enjoy it.
That interviewer sucks...
Gee, I wonder why Jon Theodore quit.
That's how these records are made
Way to make history
B. esa greña! O. esa lucidez
theyre roasting this guy
After being a fan of TMV for more than 15 years, I think Cedric’s lyrics are direct. They serve as scenes for us to imagine. They are indeed musical equivalents to movies.
Back here in 2021
He HAD to do that at the end with the Mic, thank you!
Robert Fripp of King Crimson has or had a similar philosophy on music production- I think
This Reminds me of My Mom When She Talks During Movie's.!
I fucking knew cedric liked buena vista social club, those guys are my jam.
The gamble thing they are talking about I totally get when I play my songs over and over.
Excellent interviewer.
Cedric kinda looks like a half-Hispanic, long-haired Elijah Wood lol
He is half Hispanic. He's Mexican and Basque on his mother's side, and Spanish and German on his father's side.
Hey, would be great to touch base about this video! Hope to hear from you soon!
Hello, Just checking in on my message below - be great to speak to you about this video! Thanks.
Hi there, I would love to speak to you about a video you have uploaded to UA-cam. Please could you email me via the contact in my Channel page. Thanks!
Ok I'm saying it. Cedric is hot!
His hair was insane during this era lmaooo I miss the Mars Volta!
@@exoskeletal6704 same!
I'm laying in bed watching this in 2019 and I'm thinking , "it's been 11 years already since this interview was recorded?" Wow.... time is FLYING.😳
amazing what's gone on with TMV since you had this moment!
16 years ago now.
lol at those mic curls
Omar’s handshake was EPIC! LOL
Great interview - it's a shame the high quality version of the original footage has been lost.
Holy shit how many people are going to ask them that first question? There are more interviews with someone asking them that exact question then there are bibles on the planet
I could listen to Cedric talk all day! ♡
Matt! You dark horse...
If the interviewer wasnt white it would be a nicer interview im sure
What does that have to do with literally anything?
most accurate interpretation/explanation of creating music I've ever heard.
Caroline it truly was.
so cedrick likes to sk8?
The Puertorican Beast Jonathan Ayala he had a huge alva board collection that got stolen/ruined
he is like a mix of miles davis and alex lifeson to me
6:50 I think that applied to Thomas too
no
I am Omar Rodriguez Lopez cousin
German Dylan Really? Lol
Si?
fucking genius
If anyone thinks Volta songs are just jammed out , they know nothing about music.
HOLY SHIT! the way Omar explained the way he makes a album! OMG!
Good insight on how he makes things work. He's right he can't let them in on everything...its his music.
Omar is a genius. Visionary. Same with his brother....the interviewer is not as sharp as would be an interviewer who was an actual musician...he would've asked better questions..
The overall creator, whomever that is. I'm obviously confused on the issue
I think it's strange of Cedric to say lyrics are an afterthought when so many of their albums are concept stories. There has to be meaning you're putting into those words from the onset of writing them to make the thread of the narrative. I mean De-loused was not only a tribute to a friend, but also a full-on story that they even wrote a small book for. They had to have had that mostly structured as it went on during the writing process, not "years after it came out."
+LemurBro Well... It's like having something on your mind alot and through the expression just comes a recurring theme.
maybe you dont understand how lame doing interviews is
Thanks for uploading! Great interview
Goleeeyeeeth!
