build your own lightsaber.
I cant avoid the supports in the walls, what settings did you use in supports to not have supports in the walls and only in de center of the sit plate? Is there the only surface that you put supports? There are supports in any other position? I use OrcaSlicer
@@RominaRodriguez-w2h hello. We use support from buildplate only setting, this will ensure there are no support in any other places than holes. Set the support type to snug also. 👌 Good luck.
@@makerlindh5372 Have you ever tried to print it in PETG? Im about to do it, but i would like to know if its possible?
Others have printed out in petg with great success@@RominaRodriguez-w2h
@@RominaRodriguez-w2h I did from leftover petgs (230mm diameter, 1,1kg). Im 193cm and 90kg, I sit on every lunch time, no breaks or weakenings, I very love this stool :D
For the support material. Support everything or on build plate only? I dont see anywhere that directly explains support settings. The video looks like just build plate only, but want to confirm before i print.
Yes build plate only. And snugg support
@@makerlindh5372 thank you for the reply.
@@makerlindh5372 ups is there a possibility it works altough i build full support 😅
Hello, I was trying to build a MPCNC machine on my own but I was wondering if you took a manual in reference or how did you build the CNC machine?
Why is nobody appreciating this man fitting a stool on an x1 carbon with space left over?
I couldnt open. I tried to hammered multiple times and it just doesnt open. I even created a crack on one side. The other end broke. Not worthy to print this since there is a Big chance that you will break it before you open it. I broke the bottom part and i could open everything somce now there was acces to put a scredriver and break the bondage. I am designing a bottom part to replace the part i broke. Can you change the clearances so it doenst stick as much. Or design the bottom part separetly. So its easy to remove the bandage between layers. Thanks for your design.
hi i am stuck at the part where you managed to get more of the rings open and can only really get the first ones (4:21) any ideas?
@@kyanashley4510 try pull them apart with abit more force, if that does not work, repeat step 1 and 2 and be paintent. Put something longer in the holes and hit close to the rim at the bottom and it will poop lose 👍
@@makerlindh5372 I did I and it worked ! But one ring ended up breaking. So I isolated that ring in Bambu studio and printed it separately, it was a bit tricky to get in but it ended up working great
i am 20 hours into the print and i forgot to use arachne mode for the wals will this affect it?
@@kyanashley4510 not really. It will maybe be weaker in some of the seams. But you are good 👌 make sure to follow the instructions in this video and your good.
Omw bro thank u so much I was so worried
Can you print with a .8 nozzel
Only if you print it with 0.16mm layer height. And that will be tight on a 0.8mm nozzle. So its not recomended.
What is your usable milling area?
On this build it was 1000*1000*45 mm
@makerlindh5372 that's a good size. Any issues with it being that big? Flexing? Thanks
@@patswayze2493 yes a few issues but nothing that wasn't possible to fix. There was a litte bit of flex but this was solved with extra support legs. And for what I was cutting it was never a problem. But today my working area is 600*600*75 this is still bigger then my projects I normally do. And it takes way less space in my shop 👌
this looks liek a good ideal for a poop stool
1: could have probably just lightly hammered around the edge of the whole thing to break the rings apart or tie some rope to the finger holes and use them to pull it apart at first (I'll test this one myself when I print it for myself) 2. Why no weight test? I wanna make one for my camping gear
Time to iterate on the design. This is a clear fail with the clearances. increase the slope so you can increase the clearance.
I use a stool like this when backpacking, it is the best 2lbs stool for its cost. I’ve half toyed with the idea of printing it. How much does it weight?
950 g
That chair design is meh. You cannot sit on edge, you cannot swing, you gotta sit straight
Assuming weight limit would depend on the plastic. I'm thinking about using two if them with a board across for a light equipment or picnic prep table
Then what material should we use?
There's got to be a better way to print that, maybe separate base with snap tabs?
Is this behind the scenes "One man, one jar 2"?
Lol thats my trasbin design
Not just cool but a useful stool for wiring techs with its multi level adjustable height.
Very cool! I'd like to see a weight test to see how much it can support. I love overengineered stuff like this!
Yes I'm thinking of creating some kind of test. Not sure how I whould test it yet.
@makerlindh5372 print a few and do a load and impact test. Load obviously just put more weight on it till it fails and impact suspend a load a few inchs above then drop it'll be a bit like sitting down hard
@@makerlindh5372 probably just get a bunch of steel weights or a massive bucket and fill with sand with the stool on a scale. Or just sit on it an pick up more weights each time
Wow -- what a great print! I'm very impressed with your design and ingenuity. I'm going to print one for my father-in-law for Christmas. If my print succeeds, I'll be sure to post a pic on printables and makerworld. Thanks!
Thank you for your kind words and good luck with the print.
I feel like 0.16 layer height is really low, this must take forever... does this really require the detail of 0.16? Surely 0.2 or even 0.3 would work if this was designed for it, and not take a year to print?
Thicker layers does not mean faster prints. All comes down to your flow rate and speed you print at. You can print this with 0.2 but I can't guarantee that it will open up. It's designed for 0.16
I don't understand, you spent a reels worth of PLA for this plastic stool. So $30 for a plastic stool you probably won't trust to actually sit on because its flimsy plastic. You know you can buy a proper stool for that sort of money. Just because we can print it does not mean we should print it.
I hade a few rolls of old filament i didnt know what to do with so this was a good concept and idea to just print for fun and show off to friends and customers in my shop. Yes you are right you can buy one. But why when you can print it and also have some fun with it. I trust it and I have not had any issues with it so far. But yes its still plastic and its 3D printed.

@@maxwell_edison Why do you want a pic? You want to date me, ok, but I warn you I have classy tastes and if you're not a 6-figure earner you're probably wasting your time.
you misunderstand the project then. this isn't exclusively for the purpose of just having another stool, this is the product of someone that had an interesting idea for how to use their tools to create something cool. it's more of a kinetic art piece than just a simple stool
Very nice model. Good job!
Thank you

This is a very nice project, it would be nice if you could provide models that are able to print not only on bambulab but lets say creality printers, also I have problems with cura and prusaslicers it says many error messages. But thumbs up very nice idea
I will make a smaller version soon. But I think this will be OK to print on prusa or creality with bedsize 200*200
What kind of things would you recommend for putting though the hole i cant get mine open
Anything that is not to sharp :) and fith in the hole. Like the back of a wrench or a ratchet shaft
Have you tried an uninflated bicycle tube? Feed it in then pump it open.
@@jimbrookhyser that's a really smart idea. I'm worried though that it will push to hard to the sides rather then on the top and bottom. But it might help with the first step of the opening.
Nice! How much does it weigh?
About 950 grams. And it takes 36+ h to print on a bambulab
Ehh I can't open up the 3mf file on Cura. says there were no files? weird
Try the STEP file then. Most slicer software these days can open STEP files. Let me know if you have any further issues with the 3MF file.
I just downloaded the file from Makerworld and opend it in Cura 5.2.1 and its working great.
@makerlindh5372 Cura can't open step files it seems. Also, I went to printables cause it says you need to make an account for makerworld which sux
3MF is a PrusaSlicer file extension.
@@larryturnertclan3mf is not a prusa slicers exclusive file. 3mf is the new file extension standard for binary 3D models and will work in almost all modern slicer softwares including cura. 3mf is replacing stl.

Interested in which control board you used? Awesome job man!
I baught a kit from V1 engineering. I think is is a rambo 1.4 board. Dont remember. There is also a new version of the mpcnc wich is way better than this. Same electronics but bigger belts an pulley system.
Now that's how you do a time lapse! But even then it shows really nice overview of the build without it being 4 parts and waffling cant wait to get mine going now! Printing parts at the mo then ordering bolts and the tubing on payday. I like how you did the base so it can be slid out and scrapped once its beyond rescuing :D
Love the fact the comic sound effects were left in the edit.
great video but i have a question i installed the module of spotify but i cant hear anything how i can solve this?
Frage wie groß ist den deine MPCNC
i want to ask you for how can i use Spotify Connect in my Magic Mirror?
You might need to get another addon than the one I show you in the tutorial. How to use the other addons for Spotify i don't know :)
@@makerlindh5372 thanks
I'm wondering if you could answer a question. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, I went with the 24x24 build and standard Z-axis, however, I just finished the build and the long thread rod sticks way down to the point where it only gives me 3/4" of travel, do I need to cut the threaded rod? Right now the calculator put it at 10.75 lengths for the conduit which should be 3.25 travel distance. I do not see in the instructions to cut the threaded rod.
Hello Steven and welcome to the MPCNC family. So on the page where you get all the calculations, you can find the Leadscrew minimum length in the 5raw to the right :) Just creat it maybe 1" extra long to have some spare if needed jscalc.io/calc/QHWZUpKFJzyGVS2D
Well done. Big size = exactly what i want to do. what is your accuracy? 0.1mm?
Hello Mike. Havnet measured the accuracy on it. I mostly do signs and sculpting so the tolerances are not important for me.
i want to first play music on my phone/pc then transfer it to magic mirror using my spotify...... how can i do that???? i followed you guide but couldn't do that
Hello Ranknwar The setup that I have done don't play the music on the mirror it is just showing you what is playing atm on your account on another device. I'm not totally sure that the module can play the music for you at all. Maybe you can try installing another Spotify module that can play the music and see if that helps.
mine is just coming up with the spotify symbol
Hi Lindh. Thanks for the great video and explanation. When trying to get Spotify on the Mirror I always get an error at the auth-process. I tried it several times, but always with the same client-ID an secret ID. When I run node first_auth I am forwarded automatically to my account to accept but the an error occurs. What can it be? Thanks in advance!
Hello Axel. I'm not entirely sure what's happening. Maby you will need to have a paid version of Spotify. Maby create a new developer account and try again. What in more specific does the error say? Did you copy the generated link from raspberry pi to a web interface like chrome or edge or did you just click the link?
@@makerlindh5372 Hi Lindh, thanks for your answer. I got it working last night after I just reset the secret key and install the module again. Now it works perfectly. Thanks again!

HI Lindh. I hope you are fine. I have saw your this tutorial and it helped me a lot for setting up spotify on my smart mirror.
