Another awesome video of Herby playing at the Michigan Steel Guitar Sow. Playing with him are Ben Brogdon on bass, Frank Roagers on guitar and Dan Crampton on drums. Oh and Dewitt "Scotty" Scott looking on.

Herby Wallace "Almost Like Being In Love"

This is an awesome video of legendary steel guitar player Herby Wallace playing the song "Almost Like Being In Love". If anyone's interested he sells these dvd's at HerbyWallace.com
One of the best. Loved Herby Wallace.
I love Herby. Always did. He was able and willing to take me where my teacher (Eddie Rivers) couldn't (when I got stuck) and work me through it. I used to buy all of my strings through Herby, and every once in a while he'd get some really useful gadget (the last thing being the optical volume pedal ) and he'd say, "boo" and we'd hook up and talk about whatever it was. That optical volume pedal lives with me today - unlike anyone else's desire to play traditional country. It allowed me to eliminate a semi-elaborate line driver setup I had (something we'd talked at length about) not only with my own teacher, but with Herby and Buddy himself. Herby was always there, and so willing to help. He seemed to have an intuition about a problem you might have, and be ready with a solution (and explanation of what it is in the first place) before you finish describing the problem. Herby Wallace is - and has been - and always will be - MISSED. Considerably. - At least in my live circle.
Fabulous. Pedal steel at its best!
Oh yeah!!!
You developed "upper-voice" and actually flirted with attempting to be a singer With Andrea, I always have to push her! She enjoys sing with me or the band... but ONLY if we are perfectly on our best! It's a lot of pressure!
Pure gold, Herby sure can pick . Monster player!
In my opinion, Herby is right up there with Buddy Emmons. Especially when it comes to C6!
All bad-ass players.
Is ,was, and always will be one of my favorite steel guitar players. RIP my friend. Thank you for posting this one.
You got a love Herbie Wallace,Because he is a straight up class act.
Love the way he plays through those great jazz changes and is all over it, man. What an awesome steel player.RIP my friend.
Where did this guy come from , and who did he ever play for ?
He was my Daddy❤❤❤
Donna Fargo, Nat Stucky, Con Honley, and many others. Herby was a world class musician and capable of playing with any artist. He also had a ton of teaching materials and a music store in Pigeon Forge Tennessee for years, catering to the pedal steel industry.
One of the best ever and my hero and friend. Herby could swing till the cows came home. I miss him and his great talent.
One of the greatest C6th players ever!!!
Why have I never heard of this guy? He's a steel guitar monster!
a true professiona. Here we have talent at its best.I can only imagine the hours he has put in his practice sessions. Greggor
Once again the talkers are out in force such rudeness. The talkers drown out the music. Stay at home you disrespectful .......
Just doesn't get any better than that. Wish this computer spkr. would reproduce the great Ben Brogdon as well.
Don't ever think these country boys can't play big band swing.Just plain cookin.
Herbie just like Emmons had not only the talent but a gifted imagination.
The great one!
Dear Progagainstpirates, Did not your parents teach you, it is impolite to call someone fat? This is a very rude thing to say. You should be ashamed and your parents as well.
RIP Ben.... you were a very special person.
A classic tune given the royal treatment by another of the great steel guitar masters of our time, Herby Wallace. Take note of the lick on the 4 chord on his second solo ride.... Classic Herby lick if there ever was one....starts at 3:05.
Big influence on me and I'm not a steel player. :-)
Great picker. RIP
Going to miss you brother.
Roy Rosetta ain't no slouch on the keyboard; neither is Ben Brogden on bass. I was honored to them, along with John Huhey, Herby Wallace III, Gary "Biscuit" Davis back me at a steel convention in Lakeland, Florida one year.
Herby has passed from this life 4-4-12 RIP dear friend.
When I think that I've heard all of the GREATS, I accidentally run into HERBY WALLACE!!!!!!
