What’s sad is she isn’t the only child bride forced into marriage by a family member in this documentary.

I would like to know her mother’s mindset, because I have so many questions. Sherry was married in 1971 and I know it was a different way of life back then, but still. How could you just ignore her pleas for help 🤷🏽‍♀️

@@everlastingjoypodcast I just retired from being a school crossing guard I had a little girl in middle school she and I use to talk everyday in the morning upon arriving to school and afternoon when they let out. Ond day she was shying away scared to talk I ask her if she was ok and if everything alright she said everything was alright the next day she the samething finally she told me her stepfather was molesting her I ask her did you tell your mom she said her mom didn't believe her so I went into the school and told the principal then I reported it to my supervisor which was a captain in the police department I told what had happened and what was said. They start investigating they had her checked out they found his DNA they lock him and her mom up. She start living with her aunt her mom's sister and her mother will never ever see her again. I'm so glad she trusted me enough to tell me what was happening.

Yes, Sherry wrote a book called Forgiving The Unforgivable and it’s available on Amazon. She has done many interviews and is currently a Human Rights Activist. I believe she’s is 64 or 65 now.

I completely understand what you’re saying, because this happened in the 70’s. Sherry is still sharing her story and has helped change laws in Florida regarding the age a child can get married.

As someone born and raised in Louisiana I can say not all churches are cults, but there are definitely some that are. As for the people, I’ve came across some of different races who are amazing. Then I’ve encountered some who are very disturbed and hope I never see them again. I live in Texas now and I haven’t experienced anything negative, but when I lived in Louisiana 🤦🏾‍♀️ Thank You For Subbing ❤

I’m so sorry for the pain you endured. You are 1000% correct, when a person has status in the community. People including some parents will completely overlook their own child just to stay in good graces with a predator.

Child welfare has failed so many children, it’s ridiculous. Even in 2024, we are still hearing about cases where child welfare took no action to protect innocent children.

There's 800,000 missing children per year in the US That should be the most important issue that we should all be screaming about. This story breaks my heart😢
