Tales of the Valiant

Season 2 / Episode 13 It’s our final episode of Season TWO, and we are pumped to have played Tales of the Valiant with some of our faithful players! We played the first part of the intro adventure “Caverns of the Spore Lord”. We talk about first impressions and some of the differences we saw between ToV and Wizards D&D.
Some constructive critique: In the first part of the podcast you said WotC made some rule changes and everybosy was upset and they backpaddled... without giving any context or details. You seem to assume, that everybody (at any point in the future) knows all af what you are thinking about. But we don't.
I really like your group's energy! It's great to see everyone so engaged in the session without feeling like people are 'hamming it up' for the stream. Hope to see you all run more Cosmere RPG!
Pixels creators did hear you ^.^. We want to add system/modifications for the app (not implemented) but since its all dependen on the code, dice go first :)
Woohoo!!
Friends! So cool to see these out in the wild. I was also kinda obsessed about them when the Kickstarter happened but for some reason never pulled the trigger. My thought was that they would be AMAZING for accessibility: people with low vision would be able to see them better, but even people that were blind could (hopefully) use the app to have their numbers announced through the phone. So glad to see that they were able to make them happen, and once I get one (or a set?!?) I MIGHT be nerdy enough to do some API hacking…I'll keep you posted!
Heck yes!!! That's absolutely another use case for them, that we talked about in our failed first recording and forgot to mention the second time. 😆 The app can absolutely say the dice face. Id love a whole set but they are definitely pricey! If I were to get more I still think 2D6 would be first and then 2d12. 😁 Definitely let us know if you pull the trigger!! I'll post about it if we get it working in Discord or somewhere with the API as well.
One of my favorite little details: at 1:00:36 Dracnonian Pride has an Effect that diminishes its effect if you use it consecutively, instead of having a usage limitation. So you can still spam it, its just not going to be as effective anymore.
Love that!!!
I like your acrostic. Seems to cover all the important questions.
Thanks!! Jeff worked hard on it! Looking forward to using it more!
Thanks for the overview guys! Was great to hear your thoughts. Those ancestries you covered sound really cool.
They DO!! Gotta peruse them all. 😁
I’m so excited to play the Cosmere rpg!
We are as well!!! It's really good so far!
nice. getting me excited for this game
We are pumped as well!! Really liked what we saw, not really knowing what to expect before hand!
MOAR COSMERE!
Also, MOAR Seths and Jeff and CJ!
<insert Wesley Princess Bride gif> As you wish ;-)
I mean... mini multisession adventure in the future is what I'm getting from this... ;-)
I hope you guys got to play more TOV since this. It has become my primary system to play. Loving it!
I have(Seth) I'm probably going to switch my main campaign to it at some point, because I have the digital stuff on AlchemyRPG. 😁
@@TheRPGRundownLTN Awesome! I am doing some of the official conversions of the material for Foundry VTT. But for the sake of modules I also am creating a lot of the content myself in 5e on Foundry.
This was a blast! I can’t wait to explore the world of Roshar even more!
Me tooooo! I'm down to clown, any time!
@@mattural20 we'll have to revisit the Shattered Plains another time at some point!
Oh man, the spell list. No breakdown by level or anything. That feels like it's going to get disorganized really quickly. I'll be printing the old 5E spell list sheet on the back side I think. Thanks for the breakdown guys. Super pumped to get my hands on the new PHB!
Was great chatting with you guys after Battletech.
You too Jason!!!! Hope you're still just as excited about it!!
Heyo, great meeting you two at the Alpha strike boot camp table.
You too!!!! Shoot me message or email! I'll send you some resources!
It was great to meet you as well! Appreciate you coming over to check out the video and the channel.
Review starts at 27:46! It was a blast to get to play this, let me know if you are planning to back the kickstarter.
I was just looking at the Kickstarter for this! I am a Cosmere lover so I'm very excited to play this!
It was a blast to play!!!
Well hopefully you found out by now, but Doom points as a mechanic is an optional system that was released on Launch. However, it’s DM facing only so they placed in the “Monster Vault” book, NOT the Player’s Guide
We did(much later)! Thanks for letting us know!
