Since their inception in 2020, Modern Refuge has carved out a unique space in the vibrant music scene of New Haven, Connecticut and has become one of the most exciting, must-see live acts around. The group consists of Sam Winfield (vocals), Vin Amendola (guitar), Brian Winfield (drums), Jim McLoughlin (bass), Laurel Joy Bennett (keys). Modern Refuge combines folk rock intimacy with orchestral build-ups and psych rock jams that hark back to the high-energy acts of the 70s. They have opened for international touring acts including Sammy Hagar and the Circle, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, Talk, and Rozzi. They are currently recording their first studio album, set to be released in Fall of 2024.
