@ which tribe if I may ask. Because the name “Koduah” is a highly respected name amongst the Ashantis. Which tribe or clan(Abusua) does such narrative come from?? Also bediako is a common name amongst the Akyem. And history tells us that the Akyem and the Ashanti was great rivals. The Ashantis never knew of the existence of The Portuguese and has not been documented in dealing with them except those of the coast. There’s SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH I have learnt from just watching these two videos. If your not sure on what clan or tribe such narrative comes from kindly direct us if possible. As there’s a future generation we need to teach. I don’t know how long I will live. But I have a library full of Akan traditions and customs and mythos from the Akan. One undeniable truth is that there were individuals in Ghana who stood against slavery-freedom fighters whose legacies have been largely forgotten. Their stories were never recorded, leaving gaps in our understanding of the resistance movements that existed. Additionally, there are intriguing tales like those of Aku Sika, Abebrese, Kofi Nkrabea, and others. While some may classify these as African folklore, delving into them requires deep knowledge and an open mind to appreciate their layers of meaning and cultural significance. Such stories can parallel European legends like The Legend of the Seeker and similar tales. Across cultures, there have always been people with natural storytelling talents, capable of crafting narratives that reflect the past or envision the future. Stories come in many forms-folklore, folktales, histories, and more. They can educate, entertain, inspire love, or impart moral lessons, depending on how they are shaped and shared. It’s fascinating to think about how these stories blend myth and morality. For instance, imagine asking your grandfather how a spider became so cunning and outsmarted all the other animals! Or questioning how a snake could talk, as in the biblical account of the Garden of Eden. Similarly, when Jesus shared the parable of Lazarus and the rich man, where the rich man begged for water in the afterlife, he wove together elements of faith, morality, and human understanding. Ultimately, we embrace the stories that resonate with us. We believe in what we choose to believe, accept what aligns with our worldview, and pass down what we find meaningful. These narratives, whether factual or mythical, hold power because they reflect our values, fears, and hopes, shaping how we understand the world and our place in it.
