This might be a sect that's more straightforward about their beliefs, but most sects teach a lot of very similar beliefs. There are very few denominations that don't teach that everyone must convert to their particular sect or they'll end up in hell. Most Protestant sects teach that Roman Catholics will not go to Heaven unless they come to agree with the view that one must be "born again"----that is, pray & beg Jesus to save your soul. My mother was a Baptist & I was forced to attend her church services at least once a week (usually twice) till I left home at age 17. Her sect was different from most in that it taught that Jews did not need to convert to Christianity to go to Heaven, that because they were God's Chosen People they automatically went to heaven. As a child I therefore used to wish I'd been born Jewish, so that I wouldn't have to go to church or be "born again. " The being "born again" involved long serious praying (in private), begging Jesus to accept you. The snag was, if after you were "saved" you ever doubted that you really had been saved, you were not saved; rather, if you ever doubted it, you clearly were not. Also, as taught in most (all?) Baptist sects, you usually needed to reach the "age of accountability" before pleading with Jesus to be saved. And the age of accountability was defined as the age at which you realized or felt yourself to be sinful, which as a rule meant adolescence. Whatever the sect, Protestant or Catholic, the basic tenet of Christianity is that everyone else on earth must be converted to your religion or spend eternity in hell. That's nothing more than bullying, like a school bully who demands that others must agree with whatever he/she claims or else be forced into submission. Islam is based on the same doctrine, so it should not be surprising that after the Church & Islam fought for centuries (the Crusades). Nor should it be surprising that these two religions worked hand in glove with conquest & forced conversion of the peoples of Africa & the Americas, etc. Perfect religions for conquest & colonization.
