Agree. Also the amount of superstar players is crazy, you have rising stars like (CR7, Messi, Zlatan etc.) as well as older legends like Zidane, Ronaldo, Maldini...

Follow these steps: 1. Shoot with player that has great 'Shot accuracy' rating 2. If you are shooting while player is dribbling the ball, then adjust the shot >50% of the power (orange) bar, for distances more than 30 meters. If the distance to goal is closer than 30m, then shot power bar shoud be adjusted <50% 3. If the player is shooting the 'loose' ball or gets the pass from another player, then he can kick the ball with full power (power bar is full or at least 50%+). 4. MOST Important step - player always shoots good when he has space in front of him. In case the opponent player is challenging your shot, the shot will be off target and ball will go into sky - none of these steps above will work.

So, my final advice is: make sure that player has clear space in front of him when he shoots, and make sure he has good shot accuracy. Practice that in Training mode, when there are no opponent players around, then you will find out how much to fill out the shot power (orange) bar

The long pass before it reaches the striker has to be at the height of his chest and with low intensity. If it is a bit higher, then the player will jump and control the ball with his head, which will not be suitable for overhead/bicycle kick. So make sure to practice this in Training mode a lot and 2 things are most important: 1. long pass given by previous player has to be weak, not strong 2. the player/striker who receives it has to have a great Response/Agility stat so he can attempt the overhead kick. Also the Shot accuracy stat needs to be good, otherwise the ball will not end up in goal
