      @@CityWideJanitorial-mb4vw thank you, I haven’t really researched the other 4-link options that heavily. I’m not a strong welder or fabricator, so the bolt on option of the ridetech was very attractive to me. I don’t think I would go a different route, but if I had all the money to spend, probably a full speed tech chassis or roadshop full frame chassis. But I am quite happy with my decision

      Ridetech cradle: roughly $2k 9inch housing: roughly $2k Complete pumpkin: roughly $1k Labor: $0 (did it myself) Total cost for mine is $5k You can do it cheaper if you order a standard 9 inch housing and weld the ridetech tabs on yourself, I had quick performance weld them on and add 1/4” wall for up to 600HP.

  • @craigllewellyn6970
    @craigllewellyn6970 5 місяців тому

    How did Quick performance know where to weld the ridetech tabs for your application? Doesn't the tabs location determine your pinion angle or am I wrong?

    • @nickavoglia8872
      @nickavoglia8872 5 місяців тому

      So on the ridetech 4-link, the two large bottom links are not adjustable. However, the top links are, they are turnbuckles. With the tabs pre-welded, all I need to do is make small adjustments to the top links, making them longer will adjust my angle upwards, smaller will adjust my angle downwards. There is adjustability with the ridetech 4-link. Additionally Currie rear end also provides the same service where they pre weld the tabs on your rear end if you pay for it. They wouldn’t offer this service if the only way to set the pinon angle is to weld on the tabs in the correct position.

    Nice Job. Does your oil pan from the engine or trans hang lower than the frame? I have the same setup ls3/4l60. swapped out the oil pan for 302-2 and car trans oil pan. trans cross memeber is from holley but motor mounts from lsx innovations. I have watched your videos many times and enjoy your detailed explanations and work. Thank you!!

    • @nickavoglia8872
      @nickavoglia8872 6 місяців тому

      So the oil pan doesn’t sit very low, I’m very happy with the depth. I don’t believe it sits lower than the frame rail. The trans pan however I believe does sit lower than the frame rail, but not by much, maybe 0.5”. It does sit lower than the trans crossmember as well.

    One should consider that an old car is being modified, which translates to dimensional variations which may require modifications in order to bolt in aftermarket parts.

    • @nickavoglia8872
      @nickavoglia8872 8 місяців тому

      Your correct. However, when the product is advertised as direct bolt-on with zero modification, that isn’t correct. They also state these are jig built using the camaro stock rear end as a template. Obviously there will be some small differences or adjustments, but I don’t think it should have been that large of a correction.

    How wide is the rear end from end to end on the housing?

    • @nickavoglia8872
      @nickavoglia8872 8 місяців тому

      So you can custom order any length of housing from quick performance. I ordered stock length. I believe the wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface should be 60.5” roughly. So the axle flange to axle flange distance is 55.25”. This should be stock dimensions.

    How much it cost to do the ls swap ?

    • @nickavoglia8872
      @nickavoglia8872 Рік тому

      Depends on what you swap, if just engine and transmission. Probably around 10k. If you need rear end upgrade, suspension, brakes, new wiring, and interior. Alot more. Mine requires all the above. This is just cost in parts, I do all the labor myself.

    Hi, will it be the same install for an LS2 from a GTO?

    • @nickavoglia8872
      @nickavoglia8872 Рік тому

      The GTO engines are very similar. You will still need to swap oil pan, headers, and get motor mounts. The biggest difference is the front accessory drive. It may be different from the corvette front accessory drive. I recommend looking up classic octane on UA-cam. He installed a GTO ls1 in his 69. This would be the closest to a GTO lS2 install.

    • @hectorcervantes5462
      @hectorcervantes5462 Рік тому

      Ok, where do you recommend getting oil pan from? The engine has headers but im guessing they wont work on the camaro? Also what engine mounts can you rocommend.

    • @nickavoglia8872
      @nickavoglia8872 Рік тому

      For oil pan, go to Holley, I used the 302-3 pan. This fit the Camaro perfectly. The headers that come with don’t fit, mine I bought also have figment issues. I would look into what Holley can provide. For motor mounts and transmission mount, use the same brand for both. Most people use Holley. I used cxracing. Slightly cheaper.
