Carry Optics - July 2023 Escambia River Practical Shooters
Shot the ERGC (Escambia River Gun Club) July USPSA Match yesterday. Finished in 6th Place and 8th Place Overall. 2nd Place PCC and 4th Place Carry Optics. 1st and 2nd Place LEO and 1st and 2nd Place Senior. It was miserably hot, but always good people to shoot with at ERGC. I remember now why I stopped using the GoPro to record matches. Too much time spent downloading and editing!lol

Steel Challenge - RFPI (S&W Performance Center Victory)
Переглядів 4702 роки тому
Bought a new S&W Performance Center Victory, and this is the first match I got to shoot it in. Still didn’t beat my best times with a S&W 617 .22lr revolver, but shot it pretty good. I’m used to a green front SDM Super Sight, and now have a green fiber optic front and rear sight. The rear sight glowing like that, is honestly a little distracting and fooling me about the front sight. It’s a lear...
2021 Alabama Steel Challenge Championship - RFPI

On Friday, September 10th, I shot the 2021 Alabama Steel Challenge Championship with my S&W Model 617 .22lr revolver. I did not do that well and ended up 10th overall out of 15, and 3rd and last in A Class RFPI. Enjoyed shooting the match and met some great people. RO’d the match Saturday and Sunday.

I shot the RPGi Steel Challenge Match, Saturday at the Element Training Center in Holt Florida. The match was ran incredibly well! They run a local match like a Level II State Match. Can not say enough about Brendan Souder and his staff. I will definitely go back to shoot. Finished in 1st Place and last place, because I was the only ISR.

My first actual USPSA Match - Revolver Division

Other than a classifier on January 2nd of this year, I haven’t ever shot USPSA. Always wanted to, just didn’t work out. Shot this match yesterday and ended up winning the Revolver Division, but also came in last, because I was the lone wheel gun!lol I had three goals for this match. #1. Not lose count of my rounds and pull the trigger on a spent round. Blew that in the first stage I shot, with ...

I shot the Mobile Pistol Shooters Association May 2021 Steel Challenge match last Saturday. I was the only Iron Sight Revolver, so I won and came in last. I used it as a practice match and was glad I did. I had two new personal best times on Five To Go and Roundabout. I did well enough to make the Steel Challenge Top 20 List this week at #9 in B Class ISR. That’s the highest I’ve ever placed in...

what speed loader do you use?
Safariland Comp III. They work great for competitions and literally push the rounds into the cylinder.
Oops. Never mind you said
What is your pistol choice and what caliber? Good shooting
Good work, Brad!
I carry a 360sc, nothing better than a light j frame, carry all day and believe in it !!
Love It! Woop Woop!🎉
You can carry 4 loaders in IDPA?
@chrome077 Yes you can, but one was for my initial loading. After the first 6 shots, I would only have 3 speed loaders available. When I shoot my S&W 610 in ESR, I start out with four loaded moon clips.
@@MrBradPenton so esr is 4 moon clips and 3 speedloaders in ss? Ive only shot two idpa matches. Thanks for the info.
@@chrome077 I start both with a total of 24 rounds. Moon clips or speed loaders. You can’t shoot Stock Service Revolver with moon clips. That makes me shoot Enhanced Service Revolver with my 610. I enjoy shooting both, but rarely shoot IDPA anymore. Mostly Steel Challenge and USPSA. Just more fun in my opinion.
@@MrBradPenton Have you given ICORE a try?
@@chrome077 I’d love to shoot it, but no ICORE matches close to me.
Hey Brad, Enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing.... God bless.
Hey Brad, just enjoying some slow time at work & watching your video's. God bless brother....
Bad Brad! Go bro GO! Enjoyed watching this! Thanks for posting. God bless you brother!
Yo Brad! Looking Good bro! Rock and Roll! God bless your efforts....
Go BRAD GO! Rock on BROTHER! God bless your efforts.....
Great shooting!
Thank you!
Thanks for video, very helpful
I carry a 386
At 1:08 - where did you put your 3 speedloaders - loose in a vest pocket?
Yes, that’s exactly what I did. I use spray starch on my vest and right vest pocket for these types of stages. My pocket will stay open and it’s really easy to grab them and throw them in there. If you watch the video, at the last second I stopped the RO and made sure that my vest pocket was open as wide as I could get it.
First of all, SO should've had you holster before going over anything. Secondly, that was a bad stage design.
Idol 🤩🔥
Good shooting! There’s something fascinating about watching the revolver dudes throw down.
I have a question good sir, why is it that when shooting the single hand stage you held your revolver to the side?
Good shooting. Early in the video, on the run where you fired single hand (seemingly blind) sticking just your arm and revolver around the barrier, what were they wanting you to simulate? I’m just wondering what self defense scenario they had in mind? Or was it more gaming?
Thanks Cole! I was still getting a general sight picture through the netting, but trying to get the gun as close to the target as I could and gaming it. Just thought I could cut some time if I did that.
Almost bought one couple years ago .
that’s crazy😳
My grandfather used to do this standing off hand (sideways) sighting through a mirror
Non mi piace.
È una buona cosa che la tua opinione non mi importi.
@@MrBradPenton che bella risposta inutile. Buona serata.
Good run Sir . . . I shoot the GP100 in ICORE with moonclips . . .
Thank you Sir! I love shooting wheel guns! Wish there was an ICORE match close to where I live. I’d love to shoot my 929 or 627 in it. Closest I get, is shooting my 929 in the occasional USPSA match.
Great review. I think I cried the first time I shot mags out of my PD….and the second and third times.
Nice. Which S&W are ya shooting?
66-8. With some internal polishing and a bobbed hammer, it shoots really well.
Its truly a gun for someone who doesnt want to carry a big ass hand cannon all the time. I still carry my 1911 but in a bag. The snub is on my person most of the time.
Congratulations! Amazing as always!!
Carried great but is a hand breaker for sure.
Those Pachmayr Guardian grips help.
Nice shooting!
Bravo! Always love seeing someone that can run a K-frame this slick. Your reloads with those Comp-III's are fantastic!
Thanks Paul! Lots of practice!
Great reveiw..alit of mostly kids shit on the snub revolver especially in 357 but it's a great choice for most situations.. I like the trigger for safety reasons and up close it's not gna b a factor... it wont ever be a bad option
For over 40 years I have confidently and comfortably carried a J frame 38. I started with a model 60 and I am currently carrying my model 442.
Which revolver are you running?! It is a kimber?!
S&W Model 66-8, .357 shooting .38 Special.
@@MrBradPenton thank you Sir
I've been carrying a 340 M&P for 14 years. Great revolvers!
A carry a 386 Air Lite
@@jamescurrry7868 I have one of those too! 3" 7shot L-frame. Goes with me when hunting as backup bear/cougar medicine ;)
I have one and I only shoot 357 on my first range trip with this gun
It’s safe getting gun from *mrmasterglock on Wickr* I was shipped luges with glock from him..
Nice looking range!
Thanks, it’s a really nice training facility.
Lets see the group
It’s a 12” x 14” steel plate. Zoom in and look. It’s not tight, but they are all there.
@@MrBradPenton Good shooting
I carry the same revolver. I am going to go to a .38 special round. I’ve found Hogue tamer grips really help with recoil.
Retired LEO here, I carry the 340 PD and also the 386 PD, love them both. I went to scandium so they wont pull my pants down!!
Perfect video you just got straight to the point thank you
Good Job
Thank you!
I also carry a 340pd as a PDW in warm weather. I find 38 special +P is more to my liking as my follow up shots are twice as fast. I believe fast follow up shots are more important than raw power. Nice video!
Good shooting Brad. I’m gonna have to get a revolver to give you some competition.
Thanks man! Do it! I love me some wheel guns!
When friends ask about the recoil, I say "...have you ever had a firecracker Go off in your hand? That's what it feels like...minus the flash burn..". True statement! 👍
It’s not that bad!lol Of course the Guardian grip helps with the felt recoil.
Great revolver! I carry the 640 Pro with .357.
Also a great revolver Kyle!
Crazy acoustics. What are you shooting at? Doesn’t have that familiar “ding” of a steel plate.
It’s a 12” x 18” piece of AR500 that’s mounted on a piece of angle iron. It goes into the base of the target system. It doesn’t ever make the distinct tone sound of a free hanging piece of steel.
