quality analysis. Thanks.
WOW!! I listened to your analysis then rewatched the game. Oregon losing was NOT on Dillon Gabriel.
I'm really enjoying your analysis. It's easy to understand and I'm learning a lot. However, I'm potentially disappointed if you limit it only to quarterbacks as I think that your broad spectrum analysis would be just as valuable. 🏈
The 3 major reasons were….. 1. After 2.5 years of turning a blind eye to what was happening on the Defensive Side of the Ball => Cryin Ryan Day finally told Larry Johnson to get his arse on the same page or resign…… 2. After a terrible game plan vs TTUN that included continually running directly at their 2 Defensive All Americans => Day completely relinquished the offense to Chip Belly. 3. Quarterback Mo Howard played more like Andy Taylor than Barney Fife .
I disagree. College coaches have ruined QB development. College football programs are coach centric, and the prime directive seems to be the coaches legacy. At the college level players are a transient commodity and they are treated like such. The college game has adapted to the growing trend of highly athletic but academically weak quarterbacks coming out of high school. Until fairly recently, QBs weren't all that athletic (mobile) and HAD to be masters of the playbook and reading schemes in order to be successful--not universally, but generally. The NIL/portal has emerged to rectify the gross disparity between the economic value of players as revenue generators for their universities and the relative value of their phys ed degrees. Only a relative handful of college players go to the NFL. The rest have to find a real job, and the NCAA has a dismal track record of D1 programs dumping injured players, many of whom don't finish their degrees because they weren't recruited to be educated. They were recruited to make money for the university. NIL is a way for some players who are not getting drafted to get some level of financial security. As for the portal? That too is coach driven. JM2C
Wow.....
I don’t like how lethargic UGA’s offense has played under Mike Bobo. I understand the athletes have to make the plays, but it seems like the offense is always playing from behind. They let teams linger around, which can change momentum for a team. When Todd Monken was there, UGA put the game away. To me, it seemed as if Todd Monken is good at hiding players weaknesses, and exposing their strengths. When Monken was there, there was a QB battle between JT Daniels, Stetson Bennet, Carson Beck, and Brock Vandergriff, because they all played good in that system. So, with Beck being at the helm, with Bobo being the OC, it’s exposing his weaknesses.
Sr what are you talking about Jaden Daniels Caleb Williams Cam Ward Bo Nix Shedeur Sanders.. Jaxson dart Justin Fields Quinton Ewers.. just pointing out all the high in talent. They got drafted high to the NFL. You would have to show me that these groups of quarterbacks have any less success than they did before the transfer portal
Yes sir.. you are correct. As I stated, these guys are the exception and I gave my opinion as to why. Thank you for watching
This is the video analysis that that cemented my like during the draft… now I’m back here to say you were spot on, every single detail was exactly right and now he is taking my Commanders to the NFC Championship game Also I subbed from this video so keep up the great player analysis You definitely know what you are talking about when it comes to QB evaluation
this was when football was played how it was meant to be. intimidation wax a major factor...and often the toughest teams won. skill was important of course. but skill without a tough team behind it never won.
Zorn to Largent
Agree with the screen play not used enough these days. I can remember michigan killing us back in the 90's multiple times a game for big plays. Especially on 3rd down when edge rushers are trying to hunt the qb.
Not sure how I found your channel but I like it. More people need to be here ✅✅✅
Thanks for a great video. You are clearly wise in the ways of football.
Thank you for the support. Appreciate it
Texas had 8 plays inside the 13 yard line and moved the ball a total of 5 yards. Will Howard had his best game for the throws he didn’t take. Smith was open but the plan was built around Tate (17) and Scott (88). Scott had a season high 105 yards. Texas played their best, it just wasn’t enough
Sawyer then pushed Ewers to the ground so that he was no longer able to gather the ball in ... good things and bad happen in football because the ball is pointed on both ends but it bounced Jacks way.
Remember, Texas had two fumbles before that bounced right back to Texas! The Buckeyes were due.
Sawyer was by him before he dropped his head !!!
Capt. JACK BEAT HIM WITH QUICKNESS AND A LIGHT SLAP ON HIS WAY BY ... BYE BYE SCORE ! THAT IS THE TRUTH !!!
C'mon technique ? What got them in Trouble was being over powered by GREAT DEFENSE BY THE BEST DEFENSE IN THE LAND ... TBDDITL ... The Best Damn Defense In The Land !
Buuut ! a great Defensive read by three Buckeyes causing a huge loss ! Don't forget the D of O H I O !
Buck Alum... Go Bucks
Run the damn ball north and south!
They couldnt
As if they could😂 That Buckeye goal line stance was top shelf, with the Sawyer scoop & score as the exclamation mark! Don’t fuck with Ohio u little veal shanks❤️👊🌰
That is Howard, good, not spectacular. But I will take it.
Side note on the play before half; Day was frustrated with Kelly's no use of the slip screen and said to him, we're praciticing it and we're never using it. If you don't use it we're not gonna practice it anymore. He used it in that situation which was nor on tape for the long horns
I have Ewers as the best QB in the draft. What is your opinion? ✅ ✅ ✅
HAHAHA no. Cam Ward and then Sanders are both better
Cam ward is soft
Hail no!!!
They robbed Arizona St.; now they get to know what it feels like. Revenge of the Sun Devil
Great review. One thing that jumped out at me when watching the all 22 film was how good the Ohio State secondary was at disquising their coverage pre-snap. I like pausing the film to read the coverage and even with the benefit of being paused at multiple angles, there were many times I couldn't determine the coverage until the ball was snapped. I think that caused some issues for Ewers as well.
I agree... Great job of noticing that. Any time you can line up in a look and then play something different on the snap, causes issues for not only the QB but also the WR's
OSU's drives in the 2nd. quarter were continually stopped by major penalties, best clean this up before the Natty.
1st and goal SIX TIMES!
Good job ...
I might be biased but the goal line stand was the greatest defensive performance in the history of football 😀. Great breakdown, this channel is excellent. Go Bucks.
Appreciate it... Thank you for watching
I dislike OSU and thought that goal line stand was amazing, legendary.

Nailed it Keith. Kraft wasn’t going to wait any longer. 4 wins on the year and a -127 in scoring differential was enough to know you’re not in a good place. Love your show. Keep it up.

I called it before they let Bill b. And kept saying he was gonna fail and Patriots banned me from chat and i been a fan since the 90s i was right about everything i deserve to be unbanned Jfraude sucked...
You people are the biggest hypocrites in the world. Your father invited color, so you could get where you got today.he tells the truth, your history was built on lies and you continue to promote such lies.
I live in Boston and have patriots season tickets. I think everything you say is legitimate. Nick Saban says something similar about players: “Mediocre people don’t like high achievers and high achievers don’t like mediocre people.” If the coach isn’t going to push everyone, team isn’t going to win. Pete Carroll was a very player friendly coach, but he demanded exceptional efforts from the players.
''selecting me to be a "black" head coach'' right there is when kraft knew he effed up
I dont know much about how they interviewed for the head coach position before they hired mayo but it would have been great to see harbaugh in new england instead of with the chargers.
There was no interview process. In the previous years a number of teams had expressed interest in Mayo as either a DC or a Head Coach. Kraft, for whatever reason, did not want to lose Mayo. As a result, a clause was inserted in Mayo's contract that he would follow Belichick as Head Coach. Ideally, he would have been developed for that role by becoming DC, but Belichick, who no doubt, had a different timetable for his departure, had no designated DC -it was in theory a committee of Mayo and Steve B - but his son, Steve was the defensive play-caller. I assume Bill had his voice in the defensive game plan - I think that was always the case - but Steve called the plays on defense. (Note Mayo, seeing color, promoted Marcus Covington from D-line coach to DC, another ill-prepared coach. Steve was essentially demoted. He left to be the DC at U- Washington where he turned around the defensive performance. He will now join his Dad at UNC.) Kraft decided to dump bill. No other candidates were or really, could be interviewed. The Rooney rule was avoided. An ill-prepared Mayo was elevated. I don't know if Kraft could have violated the contract and promise to Mayo, but his ego and hubris took over. It is ironic that Vrabel was available last year as well. What a nightmare.
TL:Dr, Osu came to play, Oregon did not, both qbs played great under their circumstances
Very insightful.
Excellent analysis! Thanks for the video.
I appreciate you watching!
How interesting to hear your analysis! I'm a huge football fan, but am just starting to learn the strategy from watching youtube videos. I really appreciated your expertise. I learned a lot! 🙂

Well said we wasted a once in a lifetime quarterback and lost 3 of the last 4 games. Shouldn’t feel as bad as it does right now
I will do it in your ear 🤣Classic Rivers
Cam was only supposed to play one quarter. The original plan was to have Emory play most of the game so that the coaches could evaluate his in game performance and make a final determination on whether to start him next season. Ward played 2 quarters because Iowa was scoring on every possession and Miami wanted to keep it competitive. All these people taking a dump on Ward for not playing in the second half need to sit down somewhere because Ward didn’t have to play at all. Funny how no one wants to have this same energy for Restrepo for opting to not even show up. I wonder why?
Its a good thing Cam Ward didn't play the second half.. even though he was only supposed to play 1 qtr....my inside sources said Miami was considering riding with Emory next year as the starter .. no they know that's not going to work.🙌
I don't understand why so many people have this narrative the coach decided that Emory would play the second half before the game even started
Bc he’s on the team next year duhhhh
Has Mario said that was the agreement? Neither he nor Can have spoken about it.
Coach Simons gives little knowledge nuggets many of us might not see on film like the explanation regarding the fullback pass protection and the nuanced TE route down the middle of the field that Ward hit for a TD. These little details make a big difference and often go unnoticed! As a former QB for Coach Simons I appreciate the no-nonsense approach that is all about QBs and getting the job done the right way. He is the same dude I watched film with daily for 2 years and definitely no “fan boy”. Gotta love QBs and good old school team football! -G. Lawton WSC Wildcats 1989 and 1990
