Its a forever game

My guess is that this game will have 5 parts in total with part 1 ending with the defeat of Nanook, part 2 focusing on the corruption of the main character and the “truth” of the imaginary while delving into the theory of losses. Part 3 most likely will focus in the root system of the imaginary tree aka the negative imaginary axis of the complex plane. Part 4 will most likely have the trailblazer approach the imaginary tree just for it to be destroyed and absorbed. Part 5 will likely feature the convergence of all hoyoverse games and media in general as the game’s lore transcends beyond the sea of quanta and the imaginary tree into the bridge of reality aka “real” life. With each part lasting approximately 5 years, I fully envision the game lasting for 25-30 years but by then it won’t truly be Honkai star rail but a converged identity.

I would love it if Hoyoverse can release a $60 bundle pack featuring complete offline versions of Honkai Impact 3rd part 1; Genshin Impact, and Honkai Star rail that allows you to procure all characters within the game at no additional cost along with all the events and content. This would be awesome because it would mean one would be able to play all the games even if the servers ultimately stop.

I apologize for some of the loud music, there were some issues with rendering long video with my potato laptop, long story short the sound setting get messed up when i try to work around it and i didnt check it again. I truly apologize for the inconvenience ☹️ and i will improve it on the next video. I will upload an audio corrected version of this soon

Looking at Hoyo's other game, GGZ (which has been going for 10 years and is at it's 4th arc), HSR will probably live for a long long time.

I think considering how popular Hoyo games are, you can probably expect 10 years of active content, and maybe 15 years of server support. Depends how many new players come to the game as older players get bored. It's also entirely possible they could shut down multiplayer and other server things and just keep the microtransaction servers up, basically keeping the game in maintenance mode similar to games like Final Fantasy XI.

I have hope it will last for 20+, i am growing up seeing FF14 being a huge failure of a game turned into as one of the most popular MMO that has been around for 15 years. As you said probably the development of the game will be passed on to other teams in time, but at least they will still keep it going.

Gacha game became mainstream thanks to hoyoverse, i think hoyo will try to maintain that status quo through more innovations and charging to make one of a kind game again. With the current competition when it comes to game quality like kuro with wuwa, hoyo really need to keep up with the game since wuwa has gaining an edge over genshin when it comes to visuals and they are slowly catching up on other field.

When you menton cannablism, that makes me think that what is hoyo aiming by having multiple live service games running at once. Do they expect their players to play all of their games, or they are aiming on specific player base for each game? I gotta admit tears of themis albeit a smaller game still has a very strong fanbase...

I am a star rail lover but 20+ years seems very unlikely, that lasts a whole generation and it should have a massive amount of loyal following that doesnt jump from game to game for it to last for 20+ years. I agree 10 years seem good and 15 years max if they are pushing it.

Honestly, gacha games should have a inciative that would make then offline games, like CD 💿 and stuff. Hell they could even contract the devs and release a sequel with the end of story as another physical copy. That would ne neat

I think it's realistic to expect Star Rail to go on past 10 years if FGO can do it, and if they do decide to wrap it up at 10 years exactly; I'm sure everyone's favorite characters will be expys (expies?) in other games. As far as whether or not it'd be possible to continue after the servers shut down? Well, some Gacha games have put out offline APKs of their stuff officially; Megaman X Dive and Metal Slug Attack did that. If there's enough demand Hoyo could do that. And if that doesn't happen well; we already have private servers that flourish. So I don't think Preservation for Star Rail will ever be a concern.

The first question I want to ask everyone is, will people still play gacha games in the next few years with the current world economy?

I am more surprised that the people who filled the community polls are thinking realistically. But i do agree, if they can keep our attention for 10 years, hats off to the developers and hoyoverse management.

Terribly sorry if it sounds like i am yapping too much and ended up repeating some points, I didnt manage to get some time to refine the scrip.t. I just want to open the discussion about this topic and get some input from the players regarding the future of hoyoverse games especially honkai star rail. Additonally do leave a feed back on how i can improve in the comment section :)

Why is zenless so diverse while Star Rail is just different shades of humans?

I know star rail won't add non-human playable characters but I also wish they would, they're not having as much fun with the fantasy side of sci-fy as they could be. They should take inspiration from King's Raid, they had a playable blue ogre shaman chief, a reckless goblin and a humanized lizard wizard!
