For those who have time, I also suggest going to Angra dos Reis (97 km from Paraty), taking a boat to Ilha Grande and spending a few days on the island.

The Pantanal can be visited from the north, from Poconé (state of Mato Grosso) or from the south, from Aquidauana or Miranda (state of Mato Grosso do Sul). Each one has its own characteristics. If you are visiting Brasília and have time, it's worth visiting attractions in its surroundings, such as: a) Itiquira Waterfall (largest easily accessible waterfall in the region - 168 m high) - 114 km from Brasília. b) Visit Salto Corumbá (waterfall) - 120 km from Brasília c) Visit Pirenópolis (small historic city) and the waterfalls in its surroundings - 151 km from Brasília and just 31 km from Salto Corumbá.

Best time to visit Brasília: From April onwards it stops raining, so April and May are the best months to visit this city as it no longer rains but everything is still very green, with good air humidity and pleasant temperatures. From June onwards everything starts to get very dry, with low air humidity and the grass disappears and exposes the soil, so the city takes on a more light brown tone. During this period, air humidity, on average, is around 10-12% but at the peak of the dry period it can reach 5-6% (desert climate: hot during the day and cold at night). The worst part of this dry period is at the end when it hasn't rained for a long time, that is, August and September, a period with a high probability of fires due to spontaneous combustion. It rains again at the beginning of spring (September 21st onwards), and during the rainy season, torrential rain events can occur.

Ouro Preto is the most important, but there are other historic colonial-style cities nearby, such as Congonhas (54 km) and Mariana (15 km).

Anyone going to Bonito will probably arrive by plane in Campo Grande (capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul) and then head to Bonito (260 km from Campo Grande). Generally, there are two pronunciations for this city and Cor-EE’-tabah isn’t one of them. The locals generally pronounce it : Cor-ee-TI-bah. And the rest of Brazil normally pronounces it: Cor-ee-CHEE’-bah. Also, the letter J is pronounced in Portuguese while it’s silent in Spanish. The former mayor and city planner who we owe a big debt of gratitude for the many improvements he facilitated with Curitiba, pronounces his first name JAY-me, that is before he passed away a few years ago.

Why are you talking so much about samba? Fortaleza is a different culture. You will hear Forró in Fortaleza, not samba. Samba isn't popular over here.
