Happens all the time with my Herbert Johnson destiny poet. I felt self-conscious at first, but it's so different people just gravitate towards it. I'm convinced that you need to have a level of attractiveness and fitness to look good in these types of clothes though.

Ridley Scott wanted a hat for his detective like character for blade runner. To get even more of a noir feel. But after seeing him wearing the hat (as you say) knew it wouldn’t work for both films. Some of the early story boards show deckard with a hat. 🕵️‍♂️

I live in norway and i never heard about Herbert Johnson but i seen it on youtube, it is quite expencive... and i want one, but i do not how long it will take, 4 month, 6, months... 8, months? They make it, and i do not know what is the best hat.... i have my clothes...but not the real hat.... i am soon 53... and i got my first indiana jones clothes some month ago. and people look at me like i am crazy... in my small town in norway.... but i was 12 years old in 1982....when The Raiders of the lost ark came out on VHS in norway.... since then i watch it again and again... a masterpiece of a movie.... even ester eggs i never knew was there.... Thank you for info.... Norway

Nice! I have an old pair of binoculars left by my grandad, (made around the 40s or 50s) that I keep in my Indy collection. Sure they’re not exactly time accurate as Indy’s would be from the 30s or earlier. But they’re certainly something I love keeping in my gas mask bag!

Absolutely! It’s funny to think back to when I was self conscious to wear them out and about because every single interaction regarding the hat has been fun, positive or even emotional. Never bad.

A bit late to this video but thanks all the same. I'm wanting to put together an Indy costume for the odd cosplay thing and this is good stuff. As an aside, I was talking to a guy about my W&G MkVII 1943 gas mask bag and he said that the metal disc was used in tandem with the string in side pocket on the opposite side as a belt by wrapping it round the metal disc (apologies if this has already been said below).
