Why do Fire Flames have no Shadow?

You may have noticed before that fire has no shadow. Do you know the reason why fire has no shadow? A fire that burns purely does not have a shadow, because what we call "shadow" is the formation of a darker/dark region than the surrounding parts, where the light from an opposite light source is interrupted by an object. They did this because taking a photo during this time took some time and you had to keep still while it was happening camera back then from what I’ve heard probably needed to charge up before a photo could be taken

There only ONE post mortem photo in this compilation. It is a myth that the Victorians posed, propped and painted the dead to appear alive. Victorian post mortem photos were rare, but obvious with the decedent lying in repose in a bed or coffin.

I wanted to take a photo of my mom at her wake laying in the coffin cause she looked absolutely gorgeous. But I was afraid people would call me out or tell me I was being disrespectful of my mom. But I still sorta regret not taking the photo. I didn’t plan on posting it anywhere I just wanted it for myself. She looked absolutely horrid at the end of her life. That wasn’t how I wanted to remember her. I was so specific with the funeral home. I provided them with over 50 photos on how she did her hair and make up. I actually made them use her make up from home that she used everyday. I wouldn’t let them use theirs. And I demanded no obnoxious rouge on her cheeks. Whoever was in charge of her appearance nailed it. You can tell whoever did it studied the photos I supplied. She honestly didn’t look deceased.

I had 2 photos of my aunt taken in 1968, she passed away from breast cancer. My mom ripped them from my hands and tore them into pieces in front of me, and said that's not normal, and neither was I. I believe in karma. My horrible adopted mother died 2005 breast cancer. Hmmm, I didn't even go to her funeral.

Everyone grieves differently. I’ve read a small pamphlet/book about grief, called, “Good Grief” that explains the different stages of grief and how some people may skip over some stages while lingering in others. I know it’s not the same as losing a loved human, but we lost our 13 year old dog last week and with five grown children aged 19-32, and my husband and myself, I noticed how four of us grieved in a similar manner by joining in together for a lunch in his honor. We enjoyed looking through pictures of him that I had printed out, laughing and crying a bit. (I framed a picture of Jasper for each person there.) The others did their grieving more privately. I can understand that during the Victorian era, these people were grieving in their own way- a way that was socially acceptable at the time.

Photography was way more rare back then, some people in the 1800s might just have one photo made their whole life. This practice is down right weird, but it was a different world. I was a pro photographer for 45 years, and I could never handle something like this. I can't imagine how photographers in those days dealt with it, but they did. It was widely and commonly accepted.

The victorians took pictures of the dead for two reasons, 1, was because they believed that a photograph would hold the deceased’s soul and stop it from entering someone else in another life. & 2, because to have a photo taken was expensive so made more sense to have the photo taken after death, also because it took a long time to get the exposure right, they often came out blurry, you can always tell who is still alive in the picture as the deceased didn’t move so they were clearer.
