I feel like Knopler is underappreciated as a singer. He has such a smooth voice, and it goes perfectly with songs like these. This is music in perfection in every way. The execution, the arrangement, mixing, crowd. Everything in perfect harmony. First heard it when I was about 18, now I am 46 and it’s so impressive in its perfect and smooth melody flow, gives me goose bumps and revives pleasant memories. No song conveys the loneliness, alienation and transactional relationships of night along urban streets better than this soundscape, scene of our time. Sometimes I can't stop listening to this song, not only because it is great but it also reminds me of the woman I love. She's without any doubt the most beautiful girl I've ever seen in my entire life and no one can imagine how much I want to be with her. This would be the first song I'd like to listen with her because she has a wide taste in music. I'm sure that she loves me so much, but she really hurts me. Most of the time I feel like I can't take it anymore. She is such a curvy brunette with charming armpits. I have told her many times to hide herself from other men, but she never listens to me. Sometimes I think she does it on purpose to drive me crazy. I do not deserve this. There is nothing in the way of us getting married but she makes me wait for no reason. God help me.

And his older brother Randy Brecker plays the magic intro on trumpet, wich was cut from the vinyl, another shameful decision

I have been getting my kitten used to my music. I slowly turn up the volume each week. She is 18 weeks old and this is the first song she didn't run and jump into my lap when I cranked it up to 50%. I have 4,000 watts so 50% is max while they are trapped indoors for the winter. @50% is not that loud up in the rooms I have available for them to get away. I get more work done when I put DS on and this is my favorite on the album. Last summer my neighbor asked who this was & I couldn't believe she had never heard of them. I asked if it was bothering her and she said hell no it sounds great. Her jaw dropped when I cranked it up inside my home via an app on my phone from her house. I wore out the box set cassette back in the 80's & now I have this on my NAS from vinyl.

This song and "Brother's in arm's" really stir the soul. Brother's in arm's will stir your soul especially if you have ever been in the military. Shout out to Stephen York. You really helped me get through brother. I'll always be grateful 🙏 Ps: Thank you to Dylan Smith who turned me onto these 2 songs. Peace be with you both.
