my Warm Up before practice

In this video I go over what exactly I do on a daily basis when I first start playing piano. I usually do some or all of the exercises shown in the video. A good warm up routine is important to stay injury free. I study jazz piano and appreciate the interactions online with fellow musicians and music lovers. time stamps: 00:00 - 00:19 Intro 00:19 - 02:00 Scales 02:00 - 02:55 Runs 02:55 - 03:28 ...

Hehehe thank you. One day in the future 🙏
Thanks for sharing your piano progress. You're brave for choosing jazz! it's not easy, but you're playing very well! Amazing progress
Thank you for stopping by. I’m trying my best 😊

I appreciate it 🙏
I play cello and i like sound of double bass 😊
I love the sound of the cello as well 😊 how long have you been playing for?
@@PianoManJ for 3 months I'm beginner I love cello my favourite instrument and my comfort🥰
Sounds amazing 🤩 I love to hear that you’re forming a connection with your instrument. All the best on your journey ☺️
@@PianoManJ I fell inlove with cello when I was 5 I always wanted to play and always talked about love for cello but always thought that'd just be a dream but I got cello for my birthday and I'm getting lessons 🥰
Love to hear that and happy for you that your able to fulfill your dream now 😁
I love these guitars.
They're really so well made. Do you have one of them?
Hey mate how are you progressing now?
Hey mate thank you for asking. I broke my wrist shortly after this video. Unfortunately I had to quit playing bass. I started playing piano instead, things are looking up now 😊
What is the groovy blues portion? Where can I find the sheet music or video for that?
Hey Andrew, I don’t have sheet music for it and there a probably many ways to play it. It’s a regular 12 bar blues, I call it groovy bc it has a 12/8 rhythm (triplets) and chords are build with the notes of the mixolydian scale. Feel free to ask questions
My brain: "gah where do I know that song from?!". 5 mine later "The Mask!" Only place I'd ever heard it but clearly quite catchy if I remembered it years later. Nice playing I see why you like it.
It’s very a very recognizable tune, the triplet feeling makes it groove nicely 😋
LOVE IT!!!
I appreciate it 🤙🎵
I've walked into a smoky saloon and the bartender asks me what'll it be, friend
I feel like that’s a music / film reference that I don’t get 😂☝️
@@PianoManJ no specific film. It's just this music reminds me of that sort of thing. A saloon with cowboys, but slightly jazzier. I like it though!
Hehe I can see that 😁 glad you like it 😊
Nice progress man! I’d also like to get good at jazz piano but for now I’ve been exploring multiple styles. It’s cool that you’re focused 👍
Thanks 👍 Jazz really means a lot to me since I started playing piano. For me it’s a pretty steep learning curve, but it’s definitely worth it 🙏
very good brother😀
Thank you brother, highly appreciated 😊

oh, so you are learning piano too. I will follow your journey =)
Hey thank you 🙏 learning piano is such a healthy thing to do. Looking forward to seeing more of your progress as well!
nice!
Sounding good man!
Thank you brother
I got a FG 300 red label from 1970. bought it around 1990 for 650 Deutsche Mark, which is about 330€. It was heavily played by the previous owners, and the wood just below the strings is telling that. Still fine, though!
Lovely, really good guitars. I Switches to playing piano, I now have a German piano from 1912.
Great job!! I love how you take care of the rythmic part as well, many beginners don't do that. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for your nice words 😊
good job!
Thank you 🙏
Keep going man ur doing very good there is a good teachers in youtube like Jeremy Siskind and Peter Martin u can take some good stuff from them
I’ll take a look at their stuff on UA-cam. Thanks man and take care
the progress is amazing 🤯
Sii thank you ☺️
Nippon Gakki = “Japanese Musical Instruments”
Yes
Isn't Nippon Gakki the name of the factory in Japan that builds guitars? They've built for a number of companies, including Ibanez and Fender Japan among others, I believe.
Nah, @wjamyers was right
@@michaelmcinnis911 You are correct and translated it just means Japanese Musical Instruments. We're both right, except that they primarily (or only? )build Yamaha. :)
I have FG 300 tan label with a two piece back. Bought it new in 1976.
Awesome! lovely guitars :)
Dude I will never watch another video by you because I was waiting for you to play the guitar. Dah...
Fair enough brother
Ive been down on my luck and my great friend suprised me with one
That’s awesome! A nice instrument can feel very grounding 👍
Awesome, I have an Fg300 and Fg110 red labels. I love them
Awesome mat! I had both the 300 and the 110 both excellent guitars in their own right! :)
brother, thank you, but please just play the guitar !!!
I hear you!
Nice! After I started beatboxing about 1.5 years ago I really started to appreciate percussion. Keep it up👍
Awesome! How did you get started? Ever since I started learning an instrument, my appreciation for every musician has grown! :)
Hello sir, I'd love to offer you a free virtual lesson. I'm a drum instructor of 20+ years, you can hear my music @ (Alaya - Basick Records, Damiera - Equal Vision Records). You are on an excellent trajectory and I would love to help.
Great work!👏🏼 You might find this useful, if you strip back the song you’re learning and just focus on the chords. For example in autumn leaves, don’t play the melody just play the chords and try to memorise each note in the chords, and then try and just improvise using those chord tones only. This will not only help you to memorise the chords on the piano, it’ll also teach you limitation when improvising and this is far less overwhelming in my opinion.
Hey Cosmic, thank you for the kind words and the good tip! :)
great for only 30 days
Hey mate thank you very much for your kind words. I’m doing a similar thing with piano; I film my progress. I’m currently 8 months in with the piano :) Hope your having a great day!
You're doing great! Keep it up.
Thank you 🙏 Hope you’re having a great day!
That was amazing man, have fun on the rest of your journey.
Thank you 🙏 I feel like the journey just began :) have a nice day!
good job man keep up the work
Thanks man, it means a lot to me ☺️
3/4ths are MASSIVE. i use a 3/4 at school and i dont even need to use my end pin because of how big it is😂 though at home i use a 1/2 and have to use the end pin
Haha so true, I‘m pretty so tall but still it’s such a huge instrument. I once played on a full 4/4, I also didn’t need to use the end pin with that one. Unfortunately I had to sell my double bass, due to a wrist injury that kept me from playing permanently. But I transitioned to playing piano, which I enjoy as well :)) Hope you’re having a good day. And don’t forget to practice 40hrs today, dear LingLing! ;)
Nice talent keep going hope you go big one day
Thanks dude, that’s nice of you to say. I’m at the beginning of my journey and I’m very excited to see where it leads me!
Nice to see Jack. Good progress 🙂 I did stared last one and a half ago as well. Since my work involve a lot of travelling, effectively I did spend like 1 year on it. Lovely instrument! Good progress there. After 3 lessons, my teacher unfortunatly passed away. My determination was to keep doing it and even more deditacted (but without the formal lessosn though), What a good idea to share progress 🙂... and ideas. What methot d and material do you guys use by the way?
Hey Elvis thank for sharing your story. Sorry to hear about your teacher passing away. But I love that you’re still playing! Honestly I think there is nothing as good as seeing a teacher 1 on 1. Even if only for a brief period of time. There a definitely other options like online lessons or text books though. I had to stop playing the double bass due to a wrist/thumb injury. I started playing the piano shortly after though. I also got some videos of my piano progress on this channel, if you’re interested. Otherwise have a great time and all the best for your musical journey! :)
Dude you give this song a nice vibe with your intonation. Are you a David Bowie fan by an chance?
Hey Jody thanks for the compliment dude! I really like Bowie, that’s a fact :) I’m still in the phase where it’s difficult to play guitar and sing at the same time, hahaha :)
