The wilderness campaign gave us the Indian wars, and the Opportunity to understand gorilla warfare to attain or independence against England instead of being chess men on a field being mowed down by our opposition however, we’ve lived in so much peace time that we forget what it means to go to war on our own continent and Homeland even a Civil War would mean to sacrifice at least one of your family members! If you’re not apathetic, or you have an experienced war, you don’t know that the cost of war will bring to your future and that is too great! War encompasses every form of evil! Even on one of or a few of the wars that we have experienced on our own continent, you could go from head to toe and wrap the bodies around the moon and back Was such a great loss of life! We see death on TV so it becomes a desensitized thought to dehumanize people thinking that has been raised to think it’s a game. If you’ve ever actually lost someone you cared for so many times or been pinned down under heavy enemy gunfire you’ll think differently. I pray that you’ll never have to experience that in our lifetime.
I for one pray that if the things you speak of come, that they come in my lifetime so that my children and their children may know peace. Because frankly the current generation is impulse controlled, dopamine driven automatons that if it wait until our lifetimes are over they will be submissive to an oppressive authoritarian future. So you see sir the tree from time to time needs watered. You speak as if you have seen the cost of this replenishment of liberty. And if this assumption is indeed accurate then you know as well as I do the burden it places upon those who do the watering. Better it to be good men and women than to be servants who were just “following orders”. Now on closing notes don’t take this opposing debate too seriously. Just felt the people deserve to see both sides of the sword is all. Imagine where we would be as Americans had we submitted to the monarch. Imagine the things good people would have been deprived of had we not once made the tough decision of what was worth laying down one’s good name, wealth, life and sacred honor for. The American spirit is one that cannot be easily subdued with feelings and pretty words good sir.
