Those Samurai’s are awesome, and you put a Chevy in it?😎👍 I need to start working on the 2-Dr XJ.
Thanx DS, yeah I've been a fan since about 2000. A link to a some vids of that thing wheelin'. ua-cam.com/video/o9hfxtYtL_Q/v-deo.html
@TinShackVideos right on! I’ll have to check them out.
can you please do any amazon link or something?
I bought them from Rocky Mountain ATV, they are more expensive than most ($125) , you can find some for as low as $57, www.amazon.com/D-Flex-Handguards-Shields-Black-Mounts/dp/B09YKG1DYS?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A122T64JJB9KPU&gQT=1
How did you do for mpg I’m only half way through the video 😊❤
Fuel tank size is my only gripe so far. I seem to be getting between 48 and 55 mpg. ...although the tire pressure has been 14psi since I rode it home, so that prolly didn't help....lol. ...also everyone complains about the seat being awful and the pegs like standing on toothpicks, I have no issues with either, I like the "small" pegs , I can rotate my feet easier.
@ I bought my 2023 used so the seat was kinda broke in and it had the wider pegs .
Thanks for the reply
I have the sister bike too yours I love it . Have fun
TY SLSLSL You must have the "R" model. I'm loving it so far, putting heat grip pads on it at the moment.
No have the Dualsport tires and 13 front sprocket and set the sag it works fine
The twin to yours 😂😂😂😂 the trip home was a great I live in Florida so your home turf is so cool
Very clear and easy to follow video. I have the XR150 as well here in the Philippines. Is your torque wrench suitable for all of the fasteners on the XR and if so, what is the range of torque values it does? Thanks.
It's only foot lbs., so the lowest is 10lbs. an inch lb. would have to used on all the smaller bolts, but I just tighten by hand if bolts are not on engine.
Did you just tighten the fly wheel nut with the impact?
No ,I torqued to 55 lbs.
XR650 shifter will fix the shifting issue
That's a good tip, buuttt, the lever is steel so I cut and added 1 1/4" , now my boot fits no problem.
Nice bike man! I wanna come up and ride with you.
That would be a blast, unfortunately will be snowed out real soon.
The bike looks really good. I really like the camo colorway. I’m picking up a KLX300R in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait. Snow riding looks awesome. I live in the south, so any snow we get is accompanied by ice most of the time, which means I don’t get to ride a motorcycle in it. I found the scenery in this video quite beautiful.
Thanx Msims The moment I saw the camo ,I had to have that model. I only have 2 rides on it so far, but I really like it. Make some videos when you get it!
just loosen the gear shifter and put it one notch up, test. If that works you are good. Or adjust it one more up.
I'll have to give that a try, I ride on the balls of my feet so hopefully I won't be downshifting unwantedly.
Nice bike and beautiful views! We put more aggressive tires on my dads bike (same machine) and it made offroad riding more fun and safe. He was sliding and falling over more frequently with the stock tires. They are good for the road but not so much in the wet and mud.
Thanx TT ,your Dad was toyin' with ya on that track 🙂 Did he do anything with the suspension?
@@TinShackVideos Yeah, we had fun and he still gives it gas! So far he just set the rear sag and went for it, and as long as you don't over jump stuff you're pretty good. I'm sure some changes will be made if he wants to go faster, but for now its working well.
@@TRAIL_TIME841 I just set the sag on mine, the previous owner had it set at 125mm, i changed it to 68mm, haven't tried it yet.
Riding on snow you did pretty dang good!
Super nice view!
The mountain is solid white!
@@TinShackVideos Had a dusting of snow here at Antelope Valley. I'm heading home today.
I bet your suspension would feel a lot better with less air in the tires.✌😎
Yeah, however no rim locks yet...
Maybe too much preload on the rear shock? He had it screwed half way down....
@@TinShackVideos I thought that looked a bit much . . .
I like it!!😎
RICE! 😮 Congrats
Thanx Jim... The deal was too good to pass up.
Awesome ride!!😎👍
Thanx Dusty, I;m not a fan of street riding so it was a little nerve racking!
Nice ride and vid! Iron Butt Rice!🤘😎
Thanx Tom, IKR, 6.5 hours and no problem...lol
You made it!!! 200 miles was burned up trees so sad.
Yeah all through Feather river canyon, then Greenview, then Old Station and Hat creek....
I have 3200 miles on mine, no issues. Sorry to hear about that and the clutch. You have a good functional setup to utilize on the trails. My stock tires are ready to replace soon, and I plan to go more off road oriented. Safe travels!
Well the clutch was 100% my fault but the guide should have lasted 30k. The one I replaced it with looks like ptfe material.
@@TinShackVideos I could see how it’s easy to burn up the clutch pushing the bike to its limits. I do it too when I’m off road and in the technical stuff.
Awesome video!
TY DS
It sounds perfect! You must have stocked up on 10mm sockets since Mario last worked in the shop I see.
He just won't respond....lol
Dag Nabbit!
Where is that? Siskiyou?
Yep
@@TinShackVideos that area gives me the goosebumps every time I get in there. I love it. Where I could see down the mountain is where I spent my summers running around by the railroad tracks on old stage Rd.
@@CatDog1982 I've lived here a long time and never tire of it. Cantara/Azalea area?
@@TinShackVideos my family lived in dunsmuir/my Shasta/Anderson/McCloud. I spent my freshman/sophomore yr living there. Born up in Medford but have seem to have landed myself everywhere but back there. But I remember my uncle taking me up fishing in the natural lakes up there in the 80s. Lake mumbo and gumbo I think. Can't recall exactly. I'm not very familiar with the area
@@CatDog1982 We prolly have mutual acquaintances.
What a beautiful day!
Yep it was fun!
Was there some reason that you removed the clutch basket? Could you not just slide the clutch plates and steels out without removing the oil pump?
I wanted to check the springs on the backside of the basket. ...and yeah you have to remove the oil pump to get the cover off the basket , kind of a lame design.
@@TinShackVideos Good to know. Although mine is mostly used for city errands, I do use it for trail work, and yes, it does require massive clutch slipping when loaded up with a chainsaw and other tools on single track hilly terrain. I imagine I'll be buying some clutch plates soon😄
Whaaaaaa 😂
You could also add a neutral density filter onto your gopro to get smoother video. You actually want motion blur it smoothes out the jitter. Follow me for more useless bullshit. ;-)
I messed up and changed the frame rate from 24 to 30. It made it jumpy.
Haha!! I see hear what you did there!🤣
8.5 HP WFO!!! Nice
What spectacular country!! Jeez what size helmet does that fella in the yellow bike have? XXXXL
I can't disclose that information ,top secret.
That was a good one!!! I especially like the fella with the giant casaba head helmet. Lol Beautiful ride! You sure are lucky to have all that near by. 🐸
Thanx Allegra, we had some fun rides.
Dooood! I fergot to set my tripometerer!😵💫🥴🤪✌😎
Good ride! ✌😎
Time to clean up yer shorts!
Don't let Mario anywhere near the 10mm sockets
lol
Sounds really Peppy!!
So much better!
And you gave me a shoutout!?!? Thank you so much! With the 70mm BBK and the 36/31 head with a 18t front/46t rear I top out 5th gear at 88mph. Still had power but ran out of gearing. Now I’m going to be installing a 78mm BBK and a 39/34 head.
Definitely Steel and not Iron!🤣 I just happened to of read your description lol. Woah!! You shared my video? Thank you so much!! If you put an @ in front of my name then it’ll tag me so I get a notification. If you put #xr150l in the description you’ll reach more xr150l owners.
I had a brainfart, I'm excited to see what the 78mm kit does. Thanx for the tips, I'll see if I can add those without erasing everything...lol
@@TinShackVideos I’m excited too. Have to have some machine work done. I go to manage videos/edit video/then just add it in the description, then you should be able to save.
I changed it....lol
@@TinShackVideosthanks again!!
Awesome Ride Man How I wish we have these type of backroads here in the Philippines.
Thank you Bossrogulz.. I've seen a few off road bike tours in that area that looked pretty good.
The best oil to use in a bike, really, is Rotella. If you ride in the winter, use the 5-40. If you ride in anything outside of really cold weather, use the 15-40. Less shear resistant and it also has a lot of detergents and ZDDP. It's good oil that's cheap. Gabe from TTM really abuses his and he hasn't said anything about clutch issues. Also the basket shouldn't be moving like that. I think either the damper springs or rubber bushings might be bad from the heat. I'd look into that.
The clutch went because I tried to climb a long steep loose hill and spun and slipped the clutch for over a minute-lol That was my fault. I'll have to recheck the basket, thanx for the tips!
Where was this SO I CAN STAY AWAY ! nasty shit is right!
lol dinner train
Thanks for showing how to do this. How much did it cost? Was it a special order?
The clutch is for a CRF150r, they are interchangeable. I paid $113 because it was the only one that said it had 10% stiffer springs, but I see them as low as $63 (with no mention of being stronger than stock) It is Wiseco brand. Thanx for viewing!
@@TinShackVideos okay; awesome!! The only other one I know of is the BRT Racing clutch springs but I never paid attention to the weight.
Thank you for subscribing!!
Rice! I came by your house yesterday and today, but you were out riding!🤘😎 I’m guessing that’s up Bradley somewhere… Sweetbriar... ?? I’ve gotta swap on my knobbies one of these days! That WAS close! That front front fender, though…!😂
Wrong direction, yeah I don't think those supermoto tires would have been happy....lol Funny thing, it's not the fender?????
How's that clutch!
It feels great, between that and a 2 size bigger main jet the stutter at wfo is almost gone.
Beautiful! Looks like part of the ride went through a burn scar?
Yep, that and Human scars.
Success!!! Very easy to understand clutch tutorial.
Can't wait for September!
@@TinShackVideos Heck yeah!
Glad I got to see how the ride finished up... sorry I had to bail
Ah shit,it happens ,there will be plenty more. Especially when the weather gets better!
What big bore kit did you do ? And did you change that valve head ? Did it make top speed higher or just low torque?
I wanted scooterswap's kit but they were sold out, so I found the same kit they were selling (233 70mm DVNOP company on ebay) Kept the same head and carb, little to no difference in mph but it gets up to speed quicker. ...and pulls without bogging in shorter gears(that make sense? lol) I also changed front sprocket from 16 to 15t.
@@TinShackVideos I think the heads intake port is the most important mod the bike can get. No big bore will work without doing it. Sure it increased torque but you lose out on everything else if it can't breath.
@@AliasTekTV Thanx Alias, that is in the future upgrades, I am planning on a 26mm or 28mm carb then porting intake.
Where’s Mike???
I tried to get behind him...lol
I saw him at the very end! 😂
I rode drag eating dust, fun ride!
