I am privileged to have this song by Brenda & Brian Russell. The track is on Brenda's Ultimate Collection from Universal Music Group. - Rufus & Chaka Khan did a marvelous job on this track. Chaka's unique voice is always taking us places 😀

Brenda Russell's debut album was a breath of fresh air. I still have the 8 track album of this. Yes the 8 track! I loved ALL the songs. One of my favorites was "Way Back When". The orchestration alone on that song was killer. Brenda is one of the most fabulous songwriters penning timeless lyrics. I'm sure she made a nice chunk of change off Luther Vandross's rendition of If Only For One Night. Love me some Brenda!

I just came across this interview of Brenda Russell. I'm glad I did. I have been a HUGE FAN since 1979 during the So Good, So Right era. Last time I saw Brenda perform was at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood in the 2000's. Gave a great show. Love me some Brenda Russell. Her last album released was in 2004. I read a story that another album is coming. Please hurry with that. 🙂 Donna Summer...she is in a class by herself. Her voice is definitely "incomparable". I miss her live performances. I'm a HUGE Donna Summer fan. I still play Brenda's and Donna's music catalog at least 6 times a year.

Cherchez La Femme and Sun Shower were really big songs in the 70, and I'll play the fool for you! I remember the times, the friends, neighbors and family and the neighborhood vividly whenever I hear these songs!!!!

Used to hear this waaay back in the 80’s while roller skating. Today I was skating with my daughter and I requested Automatic. They played it and it was instant time warp. Love that song, love the artists from that era. Artists that could actually sing without auto tune. Artists who could enunciate the English language. Today’s “music” makes me want to throw up. Nothing more than idiots mumbling over a crappy beat track.

I remember Unique Boutique. Those were the days my friend, good times.

God I loved this group and this music! I remember dancing to this and all the other tunes from the album in nightclubs in D.C. in the mid-70's... those glorious days of my youth :) Can't believe all those years have gone by but I still keep this music in play and will forever!

I just heard Rahsaan's music over a year ago. I must say, I think Rashaan is an awesome singer who has become a legend in my book. He can sing like no other and for that, I say thank you and keep singing Rahsaan. Sent from Heaven is my favorite and now I must hear it daily.
