No tax payer money went towards this. They pay rent to the Lighthouse who sublets it from the landlord. The Lighthouse provides supports but it is not government funded to provide these supports. Support workers from West Side Clinic help to make sure they are treated the same way as any other person with medical issues is treated. Times are tough for many people but I think if we work together to help one another that makes for a better world.

Thought It is quite a triumph when people turn their personal lives around, when they choose to break laws and perform prostitution and bad drug habits, I do not enjoy the idea of so much tax payers capital and health region money, going to supporting such ideals.There are alot of honest HARD working individuals, that stay within societies rules, and have HARD times supporting their families, without going down these scapegoat paths of REAL life.In supporting such stories are counter productive.

Thanks to Lena for telling her story. It is good that the Lighthouse is providing an enviroment which she feels will help her overcome her addicitions. I wish her all the best in regaining her health and her life. I feel very hopeful that she will. Great work at the Lighthouse!
