Born of God Meaning (John 1:12-13)
What does John mean when he says that those who become children of God are born of God? John tells us that those who receive Jesus by believing in His name, are given the authority to become children of God. He doesn't say they get some stamp of approval. They receive a new nature that gives them the spiritual DNA of God and makes them part of His family.

In the gospel of John, Jesus is described as the Word (Logos). What is the meaning of the Word was God? The Rhythm of Walking in Good Works (Week 7 - Rhythms of Grace Series)
Переглядів 42 місяці тому
As Christians, we don’t discipline ourselves to serve out of obligation or duty. We allow Jesus to lead us into a rhythm of walking in the good works that He will do in us and through us, and we get to experience our intimate relationship with Him as He expresses His Life through us. Ephesians 2:10... For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforeh...

God is a relational Being and you are made in His image. As you journey with Jesus, He will lead you into a rhythm of being involved in authentic community with other believers in Christ. thegraceblog.com/blog
The Rhythm of Silence and Solitude
2 місяці тому
Jesus spent time in silence and solitude. God spoke to Elijah through a gentle whisper (1 Kings 19:12). The Lord said, "Be still and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10) Jesus will pull us away from the distractions and busyness in this world so that we can clearly hear His voice. Then He will send us back into the world more aware of His presence in our lives at all times and in all places. theg...
The Rhythm of Meditating on Scripture
Переглядів 12 місяці тому
There are many wrong approaches to reading the Bible. Some approach it as a book of rules. Others use it for inspiration. Several just try to gain more knowledge. However, the reason we read Scripture is to know Jesus and experience an intimate relationship with Him. To do that, it requires reading it with unhurried delight and meditating on it throughout your day. thegraceblog.com/blog

More of God, Less of Me? (John 3:30 & Matthew 16:24)
Переглядів 44 місяці тому
More of God and less of me? Die to self? Deny self? Must I decrease and God increase? No! The New Testament writers tell us that you have already died to your old self. You are no longer in Adam. You are a new creation in Christ. Jesus killed off the old self (sin nature) and made you into a new self. That's why the apostle Paul says to count yourself dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesu...

So true. Malachi 3:10 is probably the most misinterpreted and misused scriptures ever. I might add that it's most likely that Malachi 3:10 was specifically directed towards the Levitical Priests. See Malachi 1:6 and 2:1. Regardless, the text can't be universally applied either historically or currently. And tithing from earned wages carries no biblical precedent.

Matthew 7:23 says ”Depart from Me, you who work lawlessness” You left out the part where we must follow the law to the best of our broken ability. Aside from that, I enjoyed your sermon. God bless Lawlessness is sin. Sin is not following his commandments. Yes you must believe in Jesus and except him as your path to salvation. It is true that salvation is not through your works. But if you love Jesus and believe in him, you shall follow the father’s commandments. Grace is only part of it…. If you do not follow his commandments, you do not know him. 1 John 2:3-6 “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”
