Susie & Peter On Wine
United Kingdom
Приєднався 14 чер 2017
Hello, welcome, join us in our adventures in wine! We're Susie and Peter, married Masters of Wine and total UA-cam novices. (Our daughter says we’re WAAAY too old to be on here…) We’re very new to this and don’t tend to promote this channel much, but we wanted to feature vids - often re-purposed, sorry - from many of the things we do. All of which involve WINE! Including our Wine Blast podcast, TV and radio bits, our Wine Festival Winchester, some social media vids, our Drink Well Eat Well exploration into wines for the vegan / vegetarian / Mediterranean diets, our wine tips and recommendations, some wine 101 'how to' guides and lots of other stuff. Some of this stuff goes back a loooong time! But we've also got some new and fun stuff too. If you'd like to see more of anything, get in touch with us via social media or our website www.susieandpeter.com Wherever you are, here's raising a glass to you, and to wine!
Don't know Western Australia's Great Southern? You Should - Wine Blast podcast with Susie and Peter
What the hell…where the hell…is the Great Southern?! That’s what most people say. Which is why Peter got on a plane and braved fires, snakes and Vegemite to bring you this story of what is arguably Western Australia’s best kept secret.
Remote? Undoubtedly. Rural? Positively. Hugely exciting for the elegant, refined, often under-valued Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet, Shiraz…even Grenache and Mourvèdre?! You betcha.
So join us on this thrilling journey of discovery, where we paint a soundscape as well as a taste map, and meet wonderful wine personalities who talk us through weird and wonderful things from cuddles to Wonderbras, emperor penguins, the X-factor, shade cloth, resplendence and knitting.
Our thanks to Western Australian government and industry for sponsoring this mini-series, whose final and concluding episode will be on Margaret River.

It was great fun going through these "questionable" aromas together - in the name of science!
Thanks again Sietze! Great fun 🙏😀
You are doing great and the content is awesome Carry on But none of your videos does SEO Perfectly. SEO is the most important to rank a video on UA-cam's top and get organic engagements for a lifetime. It would help if you fix this to get the organic result. SEO is the lifeblood of organic engagements.
There are no health benefits to drinking small amounts of alcohol and it increases risk of cancer.
Gonna have to disagree with you there. We're going to be doing a podcast episode on this soon to explain why.
@@SusiePeterOnWine spreading misinformation is against UA-cam TOS.
I'm thrilled with your Udemy course-it's truly impressive! We're dedicated to boosting enrollments, cultivating glowing reviews, and maximizing revenue. I'm eager to brainstorm customized strategies to take your course to even greater heights.
The message would have been so much more powerful if it just mentioned wine.
I feel reassured as I have purchased around $10,000 worth of premier and Grand cru level wines from my favorite producers; thanks for your report and please let’s hear more as they progress
Wow! Sounds like you're in for some very enjoyable wines. Cheers!
WOW. I have now been "illuminated !"
Cheers! 😀

Did you forget to put the list of books in the description? 😂
It's coming, sorry for the delay!
This man ages like the fine wine that he grows ❤❤❤
Cheers to that!
My opinion is that minerality is a thing, even if it doesn't come up through the roots from minerals in the soil, and into the wine via the grapes. I have no doubt that smells of oyster shell, rocks, etc. come from wine--I've experienced it. The mechanism of transmission is less important to me.
Yep, definitely a 'thing' - but even in that sense, good to try to clarify what we mean by that thing 👍
You did taste the elite of Portuguese wines! I am so, so envious!
It was a real treat! Can't wait to taste more in due course too. Cheers!
Drinking a Barca Velha is a privilege! I'm very envious!
Isn't it just?! A wonderful wine, very special.
Hi Susie and Peter, can I ask how long the 82’ Comtess de lalande was decanted for prior to tasting?
Roughly an hour. Not too long...but enough so we could check condition, let it breathe and open up a little, and continue to monitor its evolution in the glass.
Really enjoyed your podcast. Tried the 82 Pichon Lalande about 5 years ago and I thought it amazingly fresh and absolutely delicious. Keep up the good work.
Thanks James! Really interesting. We've not historically been huge fans of PL but this one was pretty special...totally agree. Thanks for supporting the pod 🙏
After hearing about the hype about 1982 Bordeaux I got the number of The Wine Advocate, called and amazingly Robert Parker picked up and spoke to me over 30 minutes extolling the virtues of the wines….his enthusiasm was incredible
Hi Edward, thanks for your message, that's really interesting! I guess RP partly made his name off the back of championing the 1982 Bordeaux vintage - but the wines have stood the test of time, by and large. They are exciting to taste now!
Thank you. It's a constant battle with the marketing department dispelling this myth.
Cheers Jeremy! Bit by bit...😀
Keep ‘em coming
Keep going, Susie & Peter! You are necessary!
Thank you! 😀
I was excited to watch your video, you inspire me!!! You are missing out on potential viewers by not using a service such as "Promo SM"!

Hi, enjoyed the vid. Would be good if you could put the wines tasted in the comments section.
Thanks! Also for the tip re the wines, which we'll do in future. As for the ones in this vid, they are: Definition Lodi Zinfandel 2019, California, USA, 14% (from £6.99) Morgenster Lourens River Valley 2013, Stellenbosch, South Africa, 14.5% (from £17.99) Piekenierskloof Heirloom Red 2020, Swartland, South Africa, 14.5% (from £19.99 or as part of the Grand Tour Wine Club case)
Great choices guys - had the Borghetti on taste last week - went down a treat
Such a good wine that one, total joy. Cheers Ian! 😋🍷
Bacon double Cheeseburger and a Lambrusco ........oh yes.........
🤣
As per guidelines and recommendations of UPS and DHL, it appears courier companies favor the use of cardboard boxes over other materials for their transportation systems. Perhaps land and air freight has a set of different challenges than storage?
Nice video👍🍷
Thanks 👍
Idea for a future video ... try to trick each other with blind tastings. Could be a competition. You need to guess the grape variety/region/country of each wine and the other person needs to try to pick a wine that will catch you out. And it would be good to explain why some varieties, regions etc can be harder to place or get confused with each other.
Love this idea! Thanks Mark. Could be a source of not inconsiderable marital strife...but that sounds fun in itself too. Thank you!
Any instruction on how to spitting? No detail explaining
Have you ever tried ancestral Lambrusco? There are out there some stunning expressions! ;) Keep loving your podcast! Just a friendly advice from Italy: You can still improve your "emilia roma-gn-a" pronunciation ! Ahah ;)
Grazie mille!! We'd love to try more ancestral Lambrusco. And will keep working on the pronunciation..!
I love your podcast! It's very useful for me to improve my english while learning about international wines
Thanks Tab! So kind of you to tune in. Cheers!
Such a great episode! I am now hooked and started listening all the episodes from the start! Keep up the good work 🌞
Ah, thanks Effi! So kind of you, we really appreciate your interest and support.
Nice video Susie and Peter. Back to back after Australian wines podcast. Your favorite Chilean wine under $20?
It has been a bad year for Australian wines. New world wines are changing the wine industry. Thanks Susie and Peter.
Yeah, it's been a tough one, hasn't it?! But Australian wines have never been better than now so we can all at least enjoy that! Cheers.
@@SusiePeterOnWine ,Agree. Feel BAD for the lower level job people as wine season is short.
