New Research on IUDs and Breast Cancer Risk
Переглядів 22928 днів тому
New research published in JAMA looked at nearly 160,000 women in Denmark ages 15-49: ~80,000 women using levonorgestrel (progesterone) IUDs (Mirena, Liletta, Kyleena and Skyla) and 80,000 women who did not. The data showed that women using IUDs had a 40% higher chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer but the absolute increase was very low (14 cases per 10,000 women). There’s a lot we don’t...

Antibody Drug Conjugates in Breast and GYN Cancer
Переглядів 90Місяць тому
⭐️ Let’s talk about antibody-drug conjugates. ADCs are classes of drugs that contain a monoclonal antibody chemically linked to a cytotoxic drug. ⭐️ The monoclonal antibody binds to specific proteins or receptors found on certain types of cells, including cancer cells. The drug is then cleaved from the antibody and then enters the cell and can cause cell death. ADCs can also cause a bystander e...

Fatigue from Endocrine Therapy for Breast Cancer
Thank you so much for your great video. I have HER 2 positive in my left breast and HER 2 neg in my right. Can you do a video on HER 2 negative. My doctors want to remove both breasts and lymph nodes once my chemo is completed.
I experienced incontinence on tamoxifen. Have you heard of this before?
When I first got diagnosed, a family member told me that they hope it was caught early… so not helpful… cause my mind went straight to the alternative.
wrong
I just finished Radiation last week after double mastectomy for Stage 2 Grade 3 Invasive ductile carcinoma which was 95% E positive. I just met with my Oncologist and have refused all further medication. I've decided to have my ovaries removed and not live in fear of recurrence. I'm 53 and do not want to manage drug side effects and put unwanted stress on my physical and mental health. Doing what feels right me.
Please explain ESR1 mutations.
Great description of the study/results and limitations, thank you!
Any insight into why my MO wants to “wait until I need it” vs starting now for prevention? I will have another discussion with him next week so any questions to ask? Stage 3, node +, will begin AI & ovarian suppression next week.
I really wish they would study the benefits of High Fiber diets with lots of vegetables, fruits, legumes, potatoes, and whole grains!!
I'm a physician, the side effects were shockingly bad, even for babytam. I could barely use the ATM. How do women actually take this? I clearly wouldn't be able to work as a physician, and I am barely able to complete my ADLs
I will be waiting for the side effects video as this was just offered to me today.
Hi..recieved complete pcr after 8 cycles of chemo and keytruda in tnbc stage 3 and surgery biopsy...what is the recommendation for the remaining 9 cycles of keytruda? Is it mandatory to use or can be stopped?
@@shailbee there’s currently a clinical trial (OptimICE-RD) - Keytruda or no Keytruda if pCR but outside of a trial, we do recommend continuing w Keytruda.
Is RGCC similar to either of these?
Does this have anything to do with elevated IgG4 antibodies in people mRNA vaccinated with 2 or more shots? People have been eating garbage, not exercising, and smoking for decades before we've seen cancer rate increases in the under 45 group. And it's increased exponentially over the last few years. I think it's a combination of Covid and the V for it. Some experts believe the V suppresses p53. Is this true or not? I feel like there won't be a real study on this for a long time because it would make so many people lose complete trust in the system. The fact that so many people aren't even able to ask these types of questions without stigma or censorship tells me everything I need to know. The truth will reveal itself over time though.
Started 18 days ago. A few hot flashes here and there but nothing else. I tolerated chemo and radiation extremely well tho. I had gastric bypass 9 mos before my bc diag and recovered from that w/o any issues as well. I go into any medical treatments/procedures expecting the BEST.
Is just extra tumor marker test or more, how do we order this or Gaurdian Shield. Already older there isnt enough appts for colonoscopies etc
I had it done out of pocket. My test result was negative. The false negative rate is very low (98.5%). I'm satisfied with that result.
But did the "false positives" go on to develop cancer within two years?
Excellent explanation, thank you! I really appreciate this in my decision determination
Thank you for the clear and precise information. I'm ER+, PR+,HER2- breast cancer survivor stage 1 and with no nodule involvement. I had double masectomy surgery about 4 weeks ago. The plan now recommended is to take Anastrazole and Zolodex shot every 3 months. I just started the AI pill but not yet shots. The oncologist says I'm pre-menopausal but OBGYN told me I'm menopausal because FSH level was low. I'm still having a period every month. My question is how does Dr know for sure if I'm menopausal? If you have an ovary and fallopian tube removal would I still need to take shots every 3 months? Also, the oncologist recommended having the shot in glutes instead of the stomach area. I appreciate any feedback and look forward to your advice...
I wish someone would answer you. I’d like to know too. They should turn their comments off if no one acknowledges a comment.
I'm on letrezole since this January. I've been suffering from mouth ulcers for some time now. Is it also a side effect of letrezole?
At 54 I had an abnormal Pap smear, followed by an EB, which came back normal. When I was 57 my periods became very heavy with clots that caused severe cramping and they would start at times I wasn’t due for it. They somewhat settled down after a year of that, but I continued having somewhat heavy periods. I am now 60 years old. I had what I thought was my last period 9 months ago. I was so happy. Until May…I started again with a period that lasted 7 to 9 days. Other than that I feel great…but I’ve had a period since I was 11 years old. I feel like I will have it until I die.
@@Carol-mq6fe well I went to take another Pap Test came back normal but I’m suffering with fibroids so I have to go back to see if got worse or if better I’m really terrified I’m going to turn 47, don’t know what to expect it scary getting older I have to deal with this alone,,
It sucks getting I don’t know if I’m going. To make it in the next few years it’s draining at this age, I feel like I’m dying I’m tired of living
@@sasha48189 I’m sorry you have to go through this alone. It can be scary. 47 is not that old, just make sure to make every follow up appointment. You need answers. Don’t give up until you have the answers you need.
Just had a blood work done my alt and ast wbc syrocket. My blood work was fine last year and this year they’re sending me to get an ultrasound on my liver due to the blood results. I’ve been taking this for my breast cancer that I had taken care of two years ago. Is this a side effect of the medication high blood readings?
What about full body mri
Do you recommend this test to your patients?
How about the terrible rash on the arms. I have been on this drug for two months and the rash is not easily controlled and hard to live with. I take the 20mg tablet. I am 78 years old. .

Hi Eleonora, loved the video i am from india and my mother is going under the keytruda treatment she has done her 4th cycle today with her chemo cycle 11 ( she has stage3 tnbc), she has a severe swelling on her left fit and a lil bit itching on her whole body, these are the side effects of immunotherapy??? We should be worried or not please help..
Hey....hope your mother is doing well....how was your experience with immunotherapy ( keytruda)...did u complete 17 cycles of keytruda. Any specific side effects your mother had of immunotherapy?
can you tell me which hospital in india is best for immunotherapy at affordable cost
Thank you, for the informative medical advice.
Vegetables carry and plants have carcinogens in them naturally much more than meat. Also that carcinogens your finding in meat is absorbed through the grains and feed they are given that have these natural carcinogens. Not to mention the chemicals they spray them with that also has carcinogen in it.
Wrong. Cooking muscle on bone produces cancer causing compounds.
Great topic. When you have cancer, you feel powerless. Being able to make a conscious decision about with what you nourish your body gives some power back.
I completely agree!
Could it be possible that the cancer is really early to be detected by an MRI or CT scan?
My mom started taking tamoxifen almost a week ago. She is having problems with breathing light cough. Feels heavy on chest is it the side effects too?? What can be done to prevent??
If one has dense breasts, and therefore always gets tested with both mammograms and ultrasounds as a result, why can’t the mammogram part be skipped to go straight for the ultrasound? How can one manage to get just an ultrasound and forgo the mammogram? The imaging place I’ve gone to won’t let me get only the ultrasound, even with a prescription for the ultrasound. They force you to get a mammogram first. So I stopped going altogether, which isn’t what I wanted either. Why can’t people have control over their medical choices?
Mammography provides information that ultrasound doesn’t. An ultrasound alone isn’t appropriate breast cancer screening bc it will miss a lot.
What do you think about thermography? Even though insurance doesn’t cover it..
Thermography is not approved or recommended to take the place of mammography!
All the radiation and physical trauma to the breasts from mammograms make it an awful choice. And if you have ‘dense breasts’, they can tell you to get mammograms & ultrasounds every 6 months. That’s crazy. Seems harmful. And outdated. So what are we to do??
Waiting for staging after debulking surgery but just dx with HGS carcinoma female pelvis, malignant pleural effusion, malignant ascites, carcinomatosis, I just turned 60 and alcohol was my only risk factor. I ate well, exercised, even used IR sauna and cold plunged 4 x week. But I drank 2 or 3 glasses of wine 2 or 3 x week. Glad you're spreading the message that alcohol is carcinogenic! And if you reply to this I'm 5' 7" and weigh 123 lbs, I'm eating well, protein with every meal, should I try to put on 10 lbs prior to debulking surgery?? I feel like I'll probably lose about 10 lbs during the recovery period. Thanks
Great conversation!! To offer a different perspective, after my hysterectomy, the muscles in my pelvic floor are too tight, so my pelvic floor PT advised relaxation exercises instead of kegels which was a godsend. Kegels are an important exercise but aren’t the solution to every problem.
My sister has just been diagnosed with stage 4 Brest cancer. She had it in 2021. It was treated and she was having back pain for 6 months went to the doctor he said it was muscular. Didn’t do bloods or anything mri scan. She went private for mri scan and it is on her spine. It has spread to her spine, back of neck, ribs and liver. She is getting radiotherapy, target therapy. The oncologist said he can treat it but can’t cure it.
Currently same situation now how that is responding?
I drank wine for many years, a lot! When I got off work, all I could think was getting home and opening a bottle while fixing dinner. Sad. After being diagnosed, ! I quit and have better sleep, less anxiety, etc. I don’t miss it at all. Thanks for the video.

Surprising information. Didn’t know the breast cancer / alcohol relationship until I was diagnosed with DCIS. I now drink alcohol on special occasions, rather than nightly as a meal compliment. Thank you for posting this topic.

how did it go????
Please HELP!!! I'm 72 years old with neuroendoccrine breast carcinoma 3.1cm stage 2 poorly differentiated. I'm aware its a very agressive cancer. I had lumpectomy and my surgeon confirms that lymphs nodes were negative er+ pr+ her2- . All tissue around cancer margins very good. I saw two oncologists, one for radiation and the other for chemo. They don't know if I will benefit from chemo but I will have radiaton and hormones therapy. What kind of treatment do you think I should have and are prognostic for this kind of cancer if I take chemo good??? I'm in a good health but I want to have quality of life too and if treatment won't help to live longer then I would refuse chemo treatment. COULD IT BE A PRIMARY CANCER IF THEY DON'T SEE ANYTHING ON SCANS like nuclear bone, ct scan for abdo chest and brain???
