Ballet Dance Academy is a ballet school in Philippines founded in 1970 by our Director, Nida Onglengco Pangan. Now on it's 52nd year, BDA still proudly teaches classical ballet to kids who are aspiring to be future ballerinas/dancers/artists/performers, dance teachers, dance enthusiasts, or simply those who really love ballet. 🩰
Ballet Dance Academy's "Dalagang Filipina" performance for ABAP Danseries31 (2024)
The Association of Ballet Academies of the Philippines (ABAP) held it's 31st Danseries last December 7&8, 2024 at Samsung Theater, Circuit City, Makati, Philippines. It is an annual celebration and a festival of showcasing the talents and skills of its member schools.
On its 31st Danseries, the theme and the title is "PINASayaw," inspired by the Philippines, where "PINAS" signifes our country, and "Sayaw" means dance. Additonally, "Pinasayaw" means, "Asked to or ordered to Dance," symbolizes an invitation for dancers to share their stories and artistic interpretations.
Ballet Dance Academy, being one of the founding schools of ABAP, has always joined this Danseries. And for this year, we performed "Dalagang Filipina". Our own version showing the ladies from the three large islands of the Philippines - Luzon, Visayas & Mindanao.

She's absolutely gorgeous! And I'm glad she did it on demi-pointes! Yes technicity isn't flawless, but nonetheless the 1st place is fully deserved, because she radiates an emotional energy when she dances, what many ballerinas tend to forget (even some of the étoiles). I'll be so glad to follow her journey in this world, thank you for the upload!
