@@darryldymond2393 if that’s right on Barry Lake then you are in the heart of the easier sections in and off the hydro line there PLT (power line trail) BLT ( battery lake trail ) , tricky dicky, bs1,2,3, dark forest , skidder 1,2, 3 and Faron’s folly north and south are all near that area

If you are unfamiliar with those trails names) I offer introductory Calabogie 101 tours with instruction (if needed and wanted) to help competent riders from easier areas adapt to the more gnarly trail conditions here. Had a father and son Daniel and Liam out for a tour last thursday. Liam had an electric bike, that was pretty cool 👍

It’s fun for sure, and slippery when wet 😂 That spot is known as “The Staircase “ and is the gatekeeper entrance to the trail called BS2 ( there are 2 easier routes that bypass the hardest parts )

I’ll do just about anything for free food and ice cream 😜❗️

There’s hundreds of km of double and single track, where have you mainly ridden and how much harder terrain like in Calabogie have you experienced ? The easiest (without a guide) is go to the Northside pit parking and follow ORANGE arrowed route which should be on the OFTR app , another option is to schedule yourselves a private Calabogie 101 guided tour with tips and coaching , which really helps ease the transition from easier trails to the stuff up here with less stress and being lost

I had a great time with you guys, my biggest thrill is helping my Calabogie 101 students master new skills and gain confidence on technical trails and terrain like we are blessed with here in bogie.

It’s a common fail area, my Calabogie 101 client today did not make it up the second part but he cleaned the first climb 👍

Hi Pat, Cool I'm glad you reconnected. We never forget that first ride! hmmm... Red Head Husky that would have to be between 2014 - 2018 as thats when i traded it in for a 250RR beta. Sold the Beta a few years ago and got the 14 ktm 300 that I ride now. Definately get a bike and get back into it, I'm out in Calabogie now and getting to know the trails pretty good up here

I'm not sure which Northside trails we all we did, this filmed in Oct 2022, You might recognize the trail once the full video is up Dawson.

I used to avoid the rock and go round it , I love hitting it now 😀

I’ve since learned to keep the feet on the pegs, they are easier to reach then the ground is 😜🤣❗️

So many lines on that rock you can ride, some absolutely crazy

Good stuff, yes it seems that combo of wind and wet heavy snow did a number on the smaller trees, we had bunches of saplings tangled into domes everywhere along with a few biggies

Me and the Riddler are just getting started, it’s pretty bad out there 3.5 km in 3.5 hours

No passes required in Calabogie the trails are on Crown land. I do recommend riding with someone who knows the area and the trails as it can get gnarly up on Snakehead and Deliverance for example. Hit me up when you come out , I’m riding my Ktm 300 here in Calabogie 2 or 3 times a week in the season 😀👍❗️

Kurt always went good on it at Limerick, they can be a bit of a handful in more technical terrain

a week or two before the boogie, all the big puddles on high falls trail where so full never seen them like that in late August before...

I enjoy them both, just did a ride the other day Southside and we found some very gnarly stuff way back in there. Got some decent footage on my new gopro 11 (just got it, big upgrade from the wasp cam this was shot with!)

Tyler and I came down the other way the week after our ride. There's another entrance/exit to Woody's Wonderland off the Eagle's Nest trail, that's the way we went it's a great trail. We came out on the hill climb we turned around on. Pretty easy coming down, it was that rock and boulder face 1/3 of the way up that got both of us.

JM invited last time I was out and I also went with Marc Cunningham to Stoney Creek, Its an awesome spot to ride for sure JM has created an enduro masterpiece! I'll be out this summer!
