    Thanks Lorne - my understanding of your cam chain issue is that you are supposed to brace the chain with a 'suitably' sized block of wood or a screwdriver handle at the chain guide runner in the crankcase whilst installing the tensioner to prevent the slackness you describe. The new tensioner will only take up the chain tension once it is supplied with oil under some pressure and the ratchet pops out, taking up the slack - regards, Rich

      Haven't found a solution to the clunky gear changes, other than using a higher weight engine oil perhaps. I use 10W-40 oil rather than 5W-40 oil. That probably quietens the gearbox more than a thin oil. You could try 15W-40 oil as well, unless you live in a very cold country. Best practice is probably not to rev the engine too highly in 1st and 2nd gear before changing gear. I dont rev more than about 3-4000rpm in the first two gears.

    Excellent points you made. I have 2017 Tiger Explorer xcx. Its an big bike for outdoors not city riding. Love the power. Did a recent trip with my wife, pannies, top box, fully loaded and the weight does not slow this bike down. For me, its a little top heavy and moving it around in the garage is not that easy..... neither is the Tenere 1200 though. Out of all the bikes I've owned and got, this is my favorite!

    My conclusion after testing: it works, but it would be better to mount the engine on an outrigger. At least then you can control your outboard motor easily. Controlling the engine over your shoulder is a bit iffy. It is also difficult to put the engine in drive or neutral when it is 1m behind you....requires a linkage arm.

      God bless you Ulas. Simply trusting in Jesus' finished work on the cross is the essence of the Christian life. As believers we are legally justified in God's presence...declared to be 'not guilty' of our sins anymore. Repentance is a constant attitude towards God still, even a daily prayer... since Jesus put it into the Lord's prayer... "forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us". The relationship with God requires this...because we want to live in fellowship with God, daily. We don't have to manufacture daily 'grief' for our sins, to keep our salvation alive, because salvation is only a work of Jesus, finished upon the cross, but in order to maintain fellowship with our God and Father, we should repent often.

    • @lornescott-wilson6144
      @lornescott-wilson6144 2 місяці тому

      Repentance requires God to grant it (Acts 11:18). The natural man can't manufacture it, but the Holy Spirit, who intercedes for us in Heaven works in our hearts to change our minds and hearts towards sin and God. 1 Corinthians 2:14 states: "The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit." The Holy Spirit gives us the required discernment...that we might be repentant..showing Godly sorrow for our sins from the heart.

      Good Internet quote on repentance: "Here’s one way to distinguish between worldly grief and godly grief: one mobilizes you into action and the other immobilizes you. Godly grief is a fruitful and effective emotion. We are not meant to wallow in this grief. It is supposed to spur us to action, to change, to make right our wrongs, to be zealous for good works, to run from sin and start walking in the opposite direction." Hi John. Thanks for the encouragement. Re: engine heat...have not experienced any cylinder head warpage or valve issues. I have been riding the Tiger for about 60000Km now through Brisbane summer and winter, but mostly on the highway. It does get hot on the legs on a hot day (i.e. above 30C), especially in slow traffic, where the engine radiator fan comes on and off frequently. The heat is less/ better than my old FJR1300 and K100RS-(hot Al tank used to cook your legs in traffic)...but it still does pay to wear trousers on hot, slow traffic days. I think if you were to ride it offroad slowly, on a hot day, that might be unpleasant.

    I have a 2017 xcx - and I find it very hot. Once outside temp gets above 22c you start to really notice the hot air. Unfortunately it doesn't dissapate at speed - just blows more air onto legs. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy it.

    • @lornescott-wilson6144

      Hi Wayne. Most bikes with a radiator up front tend to do that. The only bikes I have had, which are truly cool on hot days have been the Airhead, Oilhead and Camhead BMW boxer twins, which only warm your ankles a bit. The FJR1300 Yamaha I found to be the hottest on a hot day. Wearing trousers on a hot day is probably best practice. Slow traffic riding on a hot day is definititey the hottest. On a hot day, I stand up now and again and also spread my knees away from the tank to get extra air cooling. I have noticed this as I often ride in shorts, but it is not a deal breaker for me...a common bike issue.

I can then adjust the height, above the water. I thought I would need to be able to move the propellers direction. After watching this video, I'm going to just keep it heading straight, and steer with the rudders. I also just put in the port holes, coincidentally.
