Both El Dorado and Rio Bravo are great movies. Another favorite John Wayne movie of mine is The Cowboys (1972) with Bruce Dern. If you haven't seen it, I do recommend it.

For years my sister and I had followed the history of the Royal Family, and I can say that this show has done it justice. For the last episode, I really liked how they respectfully honored the late Her Majesty the Queen.

I kind of enjoyed the show, but the people who made it didn’t like the original, which is why they removed the supporting characters and slightly changed the returning characters’ personalities. It’s also why they made mostly modern references instead of timeless ones.

While Looniversity is far from the worst reboot I've ever seen (there are definitely much worse ones such as Toddler Titans, The Powerpuff Girls (2016), and Thomas and Friends: All Engines Go!), it's also far from the best. Here are the main issues I have with Looniversity and why I feel the original Tiny Toon Adventures series is so much better: 1. Buster and Babs being twin siblings. One of the original series' most memorable running gags was Babs and Buster saying "No relation!" whenever they introduced each other, and the two had often been depicted as a couple. Tom Ruegger himself dislikes this change, as his reponse to it was "Ummm...ew?". Making Babs and Buster twins is like if Disney suddenly decided to make Mickey and Minnie Mouse twins; it just doesn't work. 2. A lack of variety in its episodes. The original series alternated between having three seven-minute shorts and full twenty-two minute episodes, and there were many locations where the episodes could take place, such as the Tiny Toons' houses, Wackyland, and even different countries. In Looniversity, every episode is a full 22-minute one, and they all take place at ACME Looniversity, limiting the possibilities. 3. The lack of gag credits and end tags in the closing credits sequences. The closing credits of the original series had a different gag credit for each episode that usually corresponded with its theme. Some of my favorites include "Istanbul - Not Constantinople" from "Tiny Toons Music Television", "Quick question: Those babes around Arnold - What kind of animals were they?" from "Pledge Week", "ABBA spelled backwards - is ABBA" from "Kon Ducki", and "Name inadvertently omitted from 'The Name Game' - Plucky" from "Toon TV". There were also end tags featuring one of the show's characters, with my personal favorite being Elmyra's "Let the Show Begin!" because of how ironic it is. In Looniversity, there are no gag credits in the end credits, only a select number of episodes have end tags, and even then, they're before the end credits rather than after. I'm still watching Looniversity in the hopes that Warner Bros. will bring the original series to MAX and Konami's Tiny Toons video games to modern consoles in a compilation similar to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, but in my opinion, the original Tiny Toon Adventures series is so much better than Looniversity.

Sounds too me like we have a lot of the same issues with this reboot. I haven't seen the others you listed but from the sound of it I wouldn't care for them. Thanks for your comment and yes I loved the Tiny Toon games too they were amazing and still hold up. I love the original and this wasn't great.

I loved season 2. Not actually a big Brit humor fan in general, but do love Douglas Adams; he left us way too soon. The writing in the book & both seasons has an Adams-esque flavor. Sci-fi and fantasy aren't my go-to reading genres (though I do dabble) so I'd never even heard of either of these writers. I watched the show b/c it's on Prime and now I'm a fan.

Its a little unfortunate to see this movie bombing. Ezra (all drama aside) delivered a fun and dynamic performance. Keaton was awesome to see back in the suit on the big screen. It was INCREDIBLY overhyped by those in the industry. Nowhere NEAR the best comic book movie ever made, but I still had a really great time with it! Great review!

That's a good point. As you stated its not as if this genre hasn't already done things like this in the past. Are we in point of fact looking at a situation where the movie franchise that once satirized horror movies so well will eventually come back around to become the very thing it once lampooned? In truth it would almost make me happy but at the same time as a fan of these movies I really wouldn't want to see them go down hill that far. If they do what you're saying though and were to bring back legacy in such a way that Sid's daughter or some other Prescot blood were to wind up in the mix I would be interested.

I enjoyed the story line. An the sets and furniture settings are hard to take all but great pieces. The only negative for me was the attempted "southern accent" by Daniel Craig haunts me. I keep seeing James Bond. An the ending should of been similar to "Next of Kin", just saying.

I watched it the day it debuted on HBO Max. I was pleasantly surprised at the movie. My dad and stepmother came to visit this past weekend, and they don't have HBO Max, so since they're both fans of the original movie (I grew up watching it), I had to show it to them. They both really enjoyed it too. It's not better than the original, but they were so respectful to the original movie and really showed their love for the Old Man. The Easter eggs were great, especially the sign in Flick's bar, "In God We Trust, all others pay cash." That's the name of the Jean Shepherd book that the original movie came from. The child actors did such a good job too.

    • @cinemakane4851

In truth it definitely deserved one but I'm not sure if the studio didn't have enough faith in it or if they didn't think interest was high enough. Either way the movie was great and it can't have cost that much to produce I feel like they left money on the table with this one.
