I find these videos really good to remind me of what I was trying to achieve.

Something totally different. Bill and I tried our cars out as sports cars. It was definitely fun and we are definitely slow! 😁

When I heard the voice I thought I was listening to a young man. Then I saw the hand enter the frame. Yes. Yes indeedy deed I most certainly am hearing a "young" man. 🤣
73 years young😂
1) Lose the loser blow-through setup. 2) Reverse the ports because their is about SIX FEET of hot exhaust port inside the water jackets of a Flat head Ford. Use the intakes for exhaust and the exhausts for intakes - it might not melt that way. I did it once but we had to start it on propane, warm it up then switch to gas - gas didn't want to go UP HILL to the (new) intake port until the water was hot.
I’m assuming this is an old ford flathead, correct me if I’m wrong. If that’s the case, are you not worried about the lack of support for the crank with only three mains?
The mains on these motors already large//way-overbuilt for stock motors to begin with. Even for more hopped up motors. FORD built alot of these for alot of years & there's still a decent aftermarket for parts.
Can’t wait to hear it roar sir!
this is from when this setup was in the Mustang ua-cam.com/video/kWGTwhx6PpY/v-deo.html
That looks like a bad idea, please prove me wrong! All the bits look right, but the whole picture doesn't. A flathead shouldn't flow enough to use two turbos, and even if it did, the block wouldn't hold itself together! 😂😂 You are building it right. I want you to prove me wrong, but get video of the first boost, just in case I'm right 😅
@@Iowa599 we have run this very setup (turbocharged Flathead) in a fox body Mustang at Bonneville and hold the record for XF/BFALT, check out my other videos
The flow is exactly why it needs forced induction!
@wadeharder195 there is still a limit, that is where pressure comes from.
I got a Holley 950 system that will work better then the carb setup if you're interested. I upgraded to a sniper. Comes with the laptop. I did this setup before but it's a limited boost setup.
the carb on there now is 750 double pumper converted to E85 blow through and should be more than enough for my 288 cube engine. It has worked in the past, not saying something would not be better, but it's what I got.
Looking good. I'll never keep up with you in the wagon! You're going to make some power on the big end!
I don't know if I would feed the blow-off with an air/fuel mixture
hmmmm, maybe so
thanks for the idea, there is a 3/8 outlet on the carb base and I will run an adapter to go down to 1/4 and run this vacuum line to the blow off valve, thanks
That’s a cool truck
Is that for a 9 inch ford?
It always takes longer than planned - keep going.
Question, what coolant do you recommend running on a flathead ?
@@Sc300autogm we only race our Flathead car and the dragstrips don't like anything other than water.
great work buddy
I’m 65. My first car was a 51 Ford Custom with a 239 FH. Really cool engine. You can spend a lot of money to supercharge it. It would be more cost efficient to go with a more modern engine but a supercharged flathead will win with the cool factor
Did you say you was running a Chinese GT45? 😮 I’ve just removed a GT30 from the previous GT35 because I couldn’t get the things to boost under 4k rpm, which is useless on a Flatty.
I had started the engine with the GT45 but not really drove or raced it. I would have to check the model of the turbo we had been running.

This is the new one I gonna try
Good update.
Looking forward to the results! 👍 Hope you get to try out a twinscrew in the future like a Whipple W140R
is that the Whipple with the carb mount setup?
@@saltracer1 Yes i think the "R" is for top feed
Not sure how you schedule uploads, but UA-cam will keep the upload date to every video you upload. You might get a better idea of when about you were doing whatever it was
Hell yeah bro, stay consistent if you want to do it…
While Flatheads don't make the most power, they're just so cool and fascinating in their own primitive way
Get a Irontite or Seal lock plug installed should be fine. 👍🇺🇸👍 Thanks for sharing. 👍
Good torque with a turbo?
Seems like a cool setup. I’m assuming if you hook up the MAP port you can also make a virtual vacuum advance with the 3D table. That would be really nice.
Will you thread in a plug and check for other leaks?
@@staffordlandry528 I could tell the leak stopped when I put my finger over the hole
Dang that wagon has some shine lol. Had a little tail wag on that hard left before the straight away
See you & Bill we’re running!
@@staffordlandry528 slow and steady 😁
Tasty mate 🤞u get it sorted
Lovely old motor mate bet thats a ton of fun to drive
How did it run in the mustang? A more in depth video of running a turbo on a flathead would be great
there are many more videos on my channel showing the turbo setup on the Mustang. Holds the record at Bonneville for XF/BFALT at 142 and change. Dynoed something like 279 at the wheels.
At 1:28 I saw the shirt saying Breaux Bridge Athletic Club. You by any chance know Layne Beaux or Bucky Guidry?
that is my son and the picture is over 10 years ago. He said he doesn't think he knows either guy, but has 45 mutual friends on facebook with Layne Breaux.
@@saltracer1 I was curious as I have distant relations from there, Mermentau and a few other towns along I10. Don't often hear Breaux Bridge mentioned. I really enjoy the content on your projects.
@@williesweetjr8713 thanks, Mermentau is a little west of where we live now, Lafayette
That looks pretty nasty.
No! No secrets lol
Looks like JMJ's car 😮
Just Mopar Joe, indeed
CFM?
Looks good but I don't think you have it licked quite yet
@@johnelliott7375 yeah, that was the easy part, finding a carb that will work has been a little harder. I might get back to this later.

@@johnelliott7375 347 stroker
no visible tilt control?
You can tilt it front to back but I wouldn't call it controlled
That looks like it does work well. Takes up less room than the floor jack I use. And more maneuverability
It’s your needle position pull the needle and take the clip and lift it about 2 notches
what cc of motor is that a 100 ive never seen someone turbo such a small motor
it's a 212cc Predator from Harbor Freight, billet rod, 265 cam, 26lb. valve springs, 24mm carb, billet flywheel, ported head. Runs pretty good without the turbo.
Looks like so much fun. Keep up the good work Brother. 😁 👍
that looks really clean but what js that red thing
It is a chamber that is supposed to even out pulses from a single cylinder engine
pretty cool build love to see the thing rip keep us updated
You're cable is to short leaving You're slide open i can see in tbe video. Unhook the cable and check You're slide is down all the way
@@amaris058755ify I thought that might be possible also, so I put everything back n/a and it runs and idles fine. Also tried the original stock carb ahead of the turbo and it would not even start.
Keep going you'll get .
Ok im here for it
Might take stock Ranger on partial trade. xD why did u just throw another v6 or 4 banger back in it?
@@kevinhawley962 I gave it away😄
I’ll give you 100$ and a spare tire(all jokes) But on a real note, I would have probably bought something like this, before buying my 96’ ranger, awesome build!
@@HomeSlice4.0 I have had to use it as my daily the last couple of days and I am fine with keeping it 😊
